About Amanda Feyerbend

A gifted American novelist of mystery books, Amanda Feyerbend is well known for being able to craft a finely suspense-filled novel. Creating intriguing and intelligent stories, she really manages to establish a rich, intricate world within her many stories. Allowing the reader to explore them fully, she essentially takes them on a journey, letting them lose themselves within her work. Her writing really leaps out from the page as something entirely different and unique, as she has something of her own to say.

Pushing the boundaries of the thriller novel forwards in the process, she’s managed to really make it her own. With continual twists and turns on every page, her work keeps the reader constantly guessing, as there are surprises the whole way through. It’s evident she has a strong passion for mystery too, whatever genre she happens to be using it within, creating intricately woven puzzles in the process. Evoking a rich ambiance and atmosphere, too, she really seeps her stories in a mysterious air, too, allowing it to envelop the reader ultimately.

There’s also something to be said of her many iconic characters too, as they feel wholly authentic and genuine upon the page. Speaking directly to the reader almost, they feel as if they’re entirely real, casting a solid image in the mind of the audience. Making a powerful impact, each of her protagonists leaves an impression long after the book’s finally been finished. With so much more still to follow, she definitely has a lot more set to be released on the horizon as she carries on growing as an author.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up in Austell in the United States, where she was born and raised, Amanda Feyerbend would grow up with a keen love of mysteries. This passion of hers would constantly develop and evolve over time, really allowing her to refine and hone her voice as an author. As a child, one favorite book series of hers was ‘The Boxcar Children,’ and she would nurture a strong passion for writing over time.

Majoring in biology at college, she would also minor in film studies, learning how to chart and effectively plot a good story. Turning her first screenplay, ‘Endless Evil,’ into her first novel, Feyerbend would soon become highly adept as a full-time novelist. Renovating her childhood home in Georgia, she is still currently writing to this very day and has a lot more planned for release yet.

Writing Career

The first book from Amanda Feyerbend was titled ‘Endless Evil,’ and it would come out in 2014, being a mystery thriller novel. It was also to be the first book in the ‘Pruitt County Mystery’ series of novels, featuring a collection of highly engaging mystery thrillers. Quickly gaining an audience of readers from around the world, she’d fast become a bestselling sensation, with her writing appealing universally.

Other series that she would also go on to write would be titled the ‘Reynolds Investigation Mystery’ series and the ‘Liz Lockhart Mystery’ series. Stand-alone novels were titled ‘The Ideal Woman’ in 2017 and ‘Do Unto Others’ in 2019, both of which were also thrillers. Writing with a very visual style, she maintains a strong presence both online and off, communicating directly with fans on many an occasion.

Cries in the Night

First published in 2019, this would mark the fourth book in the ongoing ‘Pruitt County Mysteries’ series of novels. Continuing on from the previous three books, it carries on in much the same vein as before, whilst also establishing some surprising twists and turns along the way. Giving the reader a self-contained mystery story, it does provide plenty for returning fans to appreciate as well, with its ongoing arcs.

Losing the respect of all those around her, Detective Cassie Nash is still reeling from the events of two months previously. Now she and Stephen are called in to deal with a new investigation, and they must deal with a family that was brutally murdered during the night at a local camp-ground. Investigating the personal lives of each of the victims, they then find that the truth may lie behind a private investigator based in Savannah. How is everything between them all connected, what is the crime the PI witnessed and how is it similar to Cassie’s case, and who is it that cries in the night?

This intriguing thriller is an excellent example of the genre whilst also dealing with some difficult and dark subject matter. It’s a well-plotted novel that really moves along at a brisk pace, taking the reader on a journey giving them plenty of clues along the way. The characters are also very well established, building upon what came before while paving the way for the future.

The Ideal Woman

Originally arriving on the Kindle platform back in 2017, this would be released on the 7th of August to an already eager audience. Working completely as a stand-alone title, it would feature another thriller story, being entirely self-contained with a conclusive mystery. A mystery thriller, it’s a must for not just fans of the author, but overall fans of the genre too, as it’s a masterclass in what it can do.

Just off the shoulder of a Georgian highway, a brutalized corpse is discovered from an unidentified man, as a killer works their way through victims in the south-east. The only thing connecting each of the victims is a bite from the killer, and it is up to FBI Agent Donovan Navito and Detective Ryan Quinn to track them down. This latest victim seems to be somewhat different, though, as the body could potentially unlock the key to discovering the truth. What is their secret, though, can they solve the case before it’s too late and the killer strikes again, and what will become of the ideal woman?

There’s a lot here bubbling just underneath the surface, all whilst dealing with some dark subject matter throughout the story. Not holding back on the detail, it’s a very descriptive novel, but this definitely works in its favor when it comes to telling a compelling story. Propelling the characters forwards, Feyerbend really manages to keep the reader turning the page every single step of the way.
