Amanda Prowse
Amanda Prowse, a popular radio and television personality, is a regular panelist on the Channel 5 show ‘The Wright Stuff’ and many other daytime ITV programmes. Amanda makes numerous guest appearances on BBC and independent Radio stations where she’s well known for her insightful observations on human nature and her infectious observational humor.

Her ambition is to craft stories which keep people from turning the bedside lamp off at night, great characters that ensure you take each step along with them, and stories that fill your head up so you cannot possibly read another book until that memory fades.

For ten years she was a management consultant before she realized that she was born to write. Before that, she had always obsessively created short stories and scribbled notes down for possible books. Her novels follow the theme of ordinary women in extraordinary situations and explore just how human nature reacts when individuals are tested to the very edge of their limits

“The Food of Love” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2016. A perfect family. A loving mom. A shock wave which could shatter everything.

Freya Braithwaite knows that she is lucky. Nineteen years of marriage to a guy that still warms her soul and two gorgeous teen daughters to show for it: thoughtful Lexi and confident Charlotte. Her home’s filled with laughter and love.

However once Lexi’s struggles with weight take control of her life, everything Freya once took for granted unravels, leaving the entire family with a sense of helplessness which can only be confronted with unity, understanding, and above all, love.

One ordinary family tackles some unexpected difficulties and learns that love can find its way through some of life’s darker moments.

“The Idea of You” is the second stand alone novel and was released in the year 2017. What if the only thing you wanted is the only thing that you cannot have?

Lucy Carpenter, with her fortieth birthday approaching, thinks she has it all finally: a wonderful new husband (named Jonah), a successful career and the chance of having a precious baby all her own. Life could not be more perfect.

However becoming parents proves to be a lot harder than Jonah and Lucy first imagined, and when Jonah’s teen daughter Camille comes to stay with them, she becomes a constant reminder of what Lucy does not have. Jonah’s support and love are unquestioning, however Lucy’s struggles with her failing dreams and work start taking their toll. With Camille’s presence straining the bonds of Lucy’s marriage that much more, Lucy feels herself close to losing it all suddenly.

This poignant family drama asks the question: in today’s hectic world, what does it really mean to be a mom?

“The Art of Hiding” is the third stand alone novel and was released in the year 2017. What would you do if you discovered that the life you were living was a lie?

Nina McCarrick lives the perfect life, until Finn (her husband) is killed in a car accident and everything she believed she could rely on unravels. Bereft, along, and faced with a mountain of debt, she soon loses her life of luxury and starts questioning whether she ever truly knew the guy she married. Forced to move out of her family home, she goes back to the rundown Southampton council estate, and the sister, she believed she’d left far behind.

However she cannot allow herself to be overwhelmed, her boys also need her. To save both them, as well as herself, she’ll have to do what her husband had discouraged for so very long: pursue a career of her own. Torn between the life that she thought she knew and the reality that she now faces, she has to learn what it means to take control of her own life finally.

Amanda once again plumbs the depths of human experience in this empowering and stirring story of one woman’s love and loss.

“Anna” is the first novel in the “One Love, Two Stories” series and was released in the year 2018. A story of what happens when two incredibly different people fall in love.

Anna Cole grew up being poor, however her mom’s love made her feel very rich each day. Then her mom passed away, and Anna got sent to a care home. Anna, during her teen years, vowed that one day, she’d have kids of her own, and create the noisy, happy family life which she always craved.

Then she meets Theo Montgomery in an elevator, one day. Theo’s got kind eyes, but also a sad past. His family was rich, however his childhood was riddled with neglect. He cannot imagine bringing a child into such a cruel world, however he would like a soulmate. Somebody to with whom he can share his family’s wealth, and love him unconditionally.

Theo and Anna are two damaged souls, and come from two different worlds. Is their love for each other enough to let go of the pain from their pasts? Or is Theo and Anna going to break each other’s hearts?

“Waiting to Begin” is a stand alone novel that was released in the year 2021. 1984. Bessie is a confident sixteen-year-old girl with the world at her feet, and dreams about what life is going to bring and exactly what she’s going to bring to this life. Then it all comes crashing down. Her trusting and bright smile gets lost, having been banished by shame. And a secret she will carry with her for the rest of her life.

2021. The previous thirty-seven years haven’t been simple for Bess. At the age of fifty-three she’s visibly weary, and her marriage to Mario is in ruins. Watching her son in his newlywed bliss: the hope, the joy, the trust, Bess knows that it’s time to confront her own demons, and attempt to save her relationship. However she will have to throw off the burden of shame if she’s to honor that sixteen-year-old girl whose dreams lay frozen in time.

Can she face her past, come clean to Mario finally, and claim the love she’s longed to fully experience all these years?
