She is also on Instagram and X, formerly known as twitter, under the handle ‘@ananyad12’.

Kismat Connection is the first novel out from author Ananya Devarajan. This is a great debut book to lead with and the type of story that Ali Hazelwood called a ‘feel good read’. Meanwhile, bestselling author Christina Lauren calls this a ‘gorgeous debut’.

This is a young adult story where a young girl wants to prove that the star chart that she has is wrong. To do so, she brings her long standing best friend to be part of an experimental relationship. The only thing that she doesn’t know ahead of time is that this guy has been in love with her for a long time. We are talking years and years!

Have you ever wondered whether it would be possible to change the course of your destiny? When it comes to fate, main character Madhuri Iyer thinks that nothing is destined to go her way. She has reasons for thinking this way and it isn’t all paranoia, but still.

Madhuri has been worried that her senior year coming up is going to be anything but successful. She wasn’t even thinking about it that way until her mother started to inform her about it, since she’s endlessly obsessed with the topic of astrology.

She also is concerned that her first boyfriend is going to be forever happy with her first boyfriend, if the family curse is accurate. The first boyfriend that she ever takes on will also be the one that she ends up with for good.

That’s a lot of pressure, and Madhuri would like nothing better than to go out and prove just how much free will that she has. Now Madhuri has come up with a relationship that is entirely experimental that involves a boy that she knows for a fact that she will never be at risk of falling for.

Madhuri knows that if she can just make this happen, she’ll be able to show that her first boyfriend does not lead to an automatic happily ever after and she still has a choice in her heart and who she falls for. But is this confident girl just setting herself up for failure in the end?

She knows that Arjun Mehta is the best candidate for this task. He was her best friend since they were children, and who better to place in the experimental position than him? Madhuri has no idea, though, that her childhood best friend actually does have feelings for her that she doesn’t know about.

Madhuri is definitely at risk of falling for her fake boyfriend, and suddenly she is going to have to take a good hard look at her situation and figure out if being able to chart a destiny for herself is something that is going to be worth breaking her friend’s heart and maybe ever hurting herself in the process. Read this book to find out what happens for yourself and enjoy a fun tale from author Ananya Devarajan.
