Hugely versatile, she’s a gifted writer that always keeps her readers considering each outcome carefully, with countless twists and turns on every page. Showing a clear passion for the form, this immediately comes across for the reader, making her more than compelling reading. Knowing her readers extremely well at this point, she always manages to deliver what they want, while saying just what it is she wants to say.
A highly creative individual, she’s also a keen musician, making her work, and writing in particular, extremely compelling. Allowing her writing to essentially speak for itself, she really manages to provide a fun engaging experience when reading any one of her novels. Keeping readers constantly guessing throughout, she has a true gift for the written word, ultimately making it work on her own terms. This approach to writing has found her a huge readership from all over the world, allowing her to become an enormously prominent figure within her field.
Characters are another aspect of her work that many have come to really appreciate, providing fully fleshed out three-dimensional protagonists. Everyone really feels like they actually inhabit each and every one of her novels, allowing them to come alive on the page essentially. Setting herself apart from other writers within her field, she’s a hugely talented author with a lot to say and offer her audience. With lots more to follow in the years to come, she isn’t finishing her writing any time soon, as she will carry on writing and publishing for a long time yet.
Early and Personal Life
Born in Chichester in the United Kingdom, Andrea Frazer was always interested in everything literature from an early age. Over time she would continue to nurture this passion and interest of hers, continually developing her style and tone. Taking much of her inspiration from her immediate surrounding environment, she would feed it all back into her work.
Reading from the age of five, she would also learn music, which she now teaches, as well as teaching French to ex-pats. Working as a lecturer in Greek too, she gained a Fellowship Diploma in Greek as well, all prior to writing stories and fiction full-time. Currently living and working in the Aquitaine region of the Dordogne region of southern France, she continues to work to this very day.
Writing Career
Starting out writing children’s stories, Andrea Frazer begun her literary career with the book ‘Ghost Hunter’ back in 2011. This book would begin her soon to be much loved series of ‘Sebastian Snail’ children’s titles, each with colorful illustrations and designs. Managing the illustrations herself, she would go on to write other children’s stories, before writing cozy mysteries for an adult audience.
The first mystery novel she’d write was back in 2012 titled ‘Death of an Old Git,’ and it would also start her ‘Falconer Files’ series of books. Other series she’d write were titled the ‘Belchester Chronicles,’ ‘Holmes and Garden,’ and ‘Fine Line’ just to name a few. She would also write a collection of novellas too, along with several non-fiction titles as well, which would focus on life in France.
Inkier than the Sword
Initially released through the ‘Accent Press Ltd’ publishing outlet, this book saw publication on the 7th of February in 2012. It would also set up the third book in the ongoing mystery series ‘The Falconer Files,’ continuing on with another self-contained mystery. The books don’t need be read in any particular order as they are stand-alone mysteries, but many of the characters return once again, so it offers a lot for fans.
Taking aim at the lives of the upright citizens of the sleepy village of Steynham St. Michael, a poisonous and anonymous letter writer is attacking the residents with their pen. Focusing on their past, the residents begin to take desperate measures to escape the words of this particular individual, including murder. In the village cards-club that meets up weekly, they begin to gossip over who may and may not have received a letter. Where will the letter-writer turn to next, what actions will the residents take to escape exposure, and just who is inkier than the sword?
It’s another really fun mystery novel, making for an intriguing and inventive story that’s a compelling take on the mystery genre. Building upon the world from before, it’s self-contained, and every element is sure to keep the reader guessing and on the edge of their seat. Well paced too, its story moves along at a brisk pace, allowing the reader to fully invest themselves in the world and action.
Snowballs and Scotch Mist
Brought out through the ‘Accent Press’ outlet once more, this would come out on the 19th of March back in 2013. Marking the third book in the ‘Belchester Chronicles’ series of novels, this would carry on in a similar vein to before. Each book provides a self-contained mystery for its leading protagonist of Lady Amanda Golightly to solve, as they can be read as stand-alone titles.
Receiving an invitation to spend Burns’ Night up in the Castle Rumdrummond based in Scotland, Lady Amanda Golightly is initially not too thrilled at the idea. That’s when her friend Hugo pleads with her to attend with him, so they head up there together, as her manservant Beauchamp also accompanies them both. During their trip though, a murder takes place, and they soon find they have to uncover an intricate mystery of intrigue. Will they all be able to find out who done it, can they stop the killer from striking again, and what shall become of all the snowballs and Scotch mist?
With Scotland providing the perfect backdrop to this particular mystery, it’s a well-told story that instantly grabs its audience. The characters are all well developed too, with each of the arcs progressing from the previous stories in the series. It also manages to some great world-building once again, really bringing the life of Lady Amanda Golightly to life.
