Angela Elwell Hunt
Angela Elwell Hunt was born December 20, 1957 in Winter Haven and grew up in Brevard County, Florida, later graduating from Rockledge High School in the year 1975. She was one of Brevard County’s debutantes that year.
She traveled with Derric Johnson’s “The ReGeneration”, a ten member vocal group. Angela studied music and English at Liberty University, graduating magna cum laude in the year 1980. She spent a year teaching high school kids.
In the year 1983, she began writing. During those early years, writing freelance, she wrote everything from catalog copy to business letters. During the late eighties, she got her first recognition as a writer, taking first place in a national competition with one manuscript and sketches that she and her friend submitted. Angela’s first book got published in the year 1988.
Angela earned a Masters of Biblical degree in Theology in the year 2006. In 2008, she completed her doctorate in the exact same field, before getting her ThD in the year 2015.
She and Gary, her youth pastor-husband, make their home in Florida with a pair of mastiffs, one of which was featured on Live with Regis and Kelly as the second-biggest dog in America. These big dogs are a direct result of watching movies like “The Sandlot” and “Turner and Hooch” too many times. They have two kids, a son (Tyler) and a daughter (Taryn).
Hunt admits to being fascinated by psychology, animals, unexplained phenomena, chickens, and medicine, as well as just about anything that isn’t sports. Books have always shaped her life, she says, and learned about flirting by reading “Gone with the Wind”.
When not home reading or writing, she often travels to teach writing workshops at writers’ conferences and at schools. Also to talk about her pets, obviously. She is also an avid photographer, using her pictures to help find homes for animals at the different local rescues.
“The Note” was adapted into a movie that aired on the Hallmark Network with the same name, premiering in late 2007.
“The Truth Teller” won a Holt Medallion for Inspirational Fiction in the year 2000. She received a Christy Award that same year for “By Dawn’s Early Light”. In the year 2006, she won the Romantic Times BookClub Lifetime Achievement Award, and three of her novels have been finalists for RITAs. She has also won eight Angel Awards from Excellence in Media.
Angela writes romance and inspirational novels as well as some non-fiction books. She writes the “Silent Years” series, the “Keepers of the Ring” series, the “Dangerous Beauty” series, the “Fairlawn” series, and the “Colonial Captives”, as well as some stand alone novels. Her books have sold five million copies all around the world.
“A Basket of Roses” is the third novel in the “Cassie Perkins” series, and was released in the year 1991. Cassie hates her school.
Cassie dreamed all summer about going to the School for the Performing Arts. However, now that she is finally going there, she feels like she is out of place. As if that weren’t bad enough, her mom announces that she will be getting remarried.
All of a sudden, there is just a single thing in Cassie’s life that matters at all. And that is putting a stop to her mom’s new romance once and for all.
“A Dream to Cherish” is the fourth novel in the “Cassie Perkins” series, and was released in the year 1992. Cassie has finally returned to her old school where all her old friends are. Life should really be wonderful, however for some strange reason Cassie is unable to fit in anywhere. Her best friend won’t even talk to her now that she has gotten a boyfriend.
Right when Cassie is close to giving up, a miracle happens. Arien Belle, the most popular senior in the entire school, picks her as a friend. With help from Arien, Cassie’s life takes a definite turn for the better. Right in time for her to get some stunning news that shakes up her entire world.
“Delilah” is the third novel in the “Dangerous Beauty” series, and was released in the year 2016. Life is not easy in Philistia, particularly for a woman and child alone. When wounded and beautiful Delilah finds herself begging to have food to survive, and she resolves that she is going to find a way to beat all the guys that have taken advantage of her. She is going to overcome all the roadblocks life has put before her, and she is going to find riches and victory for herself.
She meets a legendary guy named Samson, and senses in him the means for her victory. After all, she is smart, she is beautiful, and is charming. By seducing, winning, and betraying the hero of the Hebrews, she is going to attain a position of national prominence. No guy, not even a supernaturally gifted strongman, can beat her in a war of wits.
“Paul, Apostle of Christ” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2018. This is the story of two guys. Luke, as a physician and a buddy, risks his very life each and every time he goes into the city of Rome to visit Paul, who is held captive in Nero’s bleakest prison cell. Before Paul is executed, Luke resolves to pen another book, one that details the beginnings of “The Way” and the birth of what is going to come to be called the church. Nero is determined to rid Rome of all the Christians.
Paul has survived a lot. Shipwreck, stoning, floggings, starvation, hunger and thirst, exposure and cold, but while he waits for his appointment with death he is haunted by the shadows of his past. He wonders if he has been forgotten, and if he has got the strength to finish well.
The two guys struggle against a determined emperor as well as the frailties of the human spirit in order to bequeath the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all of the world.

I have just finished reading “Uncharted”, and started on Duty. I’ve read Apostle’s Sister, the King’s Shadow and three or four other books about ladies of the Bible. Once I’ve started a book I can’t wait to finish it. You can never guess the ending. !! I’m So glad she has so many more for me to read.
