Angela Pepper is a reputed American writer of cozy mysteries, thriller, chick-lit, and suspense stories. She is particularly famous for writing Stormy Day Mystery series, Wisteria Witches series, Eli Carter and Ghost Hackers series, and Restless Spirits of the Southwest series. For writing her cozy mysteries, Pepper uses her original name and she uses the pen name of Angela Jane Pepper for writing contemporary romance/thriller books. When Pepper is not busy with her writing projects, she likes to indulge herself in sewing, painting, and making pottery. Even when she is not writing anything, she keeps thinking about writing novels. Pepper hopes that her work brings inspiration and joy to the readers. Currently, she resides in the Pacific Northwest along with her loving husband. She loves being surrounded by deers, spoiled kitties, woodpeckers, and raccoons.

Pepper says that she has always loved the idea of writing and reading books. Her career began when she came across an advertisement in a local newspaper about a course in creative writing at a local university. Before this, she was involved in two businesses and was working very hard to keep them up and running. When the creative writing course came to her notice, she decided to take a sabbatical from her work and pursue the course. Initially, she started the course as a means to relax her body and mind, but soon, it became her obsession and she could not keep her mind away from it. Author Pepper considers herself a morning person. Every day, she visits a coffee shop at around 9 am and uses the first sixty to ninety minutes to write whatever comes to her mind. Then, she comes back home and relaxes for some time. Pepper locks herself for another session of writing and by lunchtime, she brings her day’s work to an end as she begins to feel very drowsy by that time.

The favorite part about writing for Pepper is adding a scene or two during revisions. She doesn’t like it when she gets overwhelmed on the day of submitting her work to her editor. Pepper says that she has grown accustomed to city life in recent years, but she has always been a nature-loving girl. As of now, Pepper is working on the latest books of all her series and is expected to release them soon after their completion and editing.

A popular series written by author Angela Pepper is the urban fantasy book series called the Wisteria Witches series. This series began in 2017 and is filled with supernatural elements and lots of magic. The books of the series revolve around a mother-daughter witch pair named Zara Riddle and Zoey Riddle, and Zoey’s aunt named Zinnia Riddle. Pepper has divided the series into three segments. The first five books are based on Zara Riddle and the second set of three books is based on Zinnia Riddle. The third and final segment also contains three books and features Zara Riddle as the central character. A famous book of this urban fantasy series is entitled ‘Wardens of Wisteria’. It was released in 2018 as a Kindle book.

The primary characters mentioned in this book include Zara Riddle, Theodore Bentley, and several others. Initially, it is depicted that Zara is used to waking up at midnight by the sound of magical creatures. She enjoys being a witch, but hates the few drawbacks that come with it. Zara’s special powers give her the ability to speak to the recently deceased. As a result, they always show up at night to seek her help. Zara Riddle is not surprised to know that a new ghost has arrived at her house. She interacts with the spirit, gains all the knowledge of the crime, and informs the authorities to take action. Zara thinks that she has finished her work well before the sunrise as the investigation of the homicide case rests on the shoulders of the town’s detective. But, detective Theodore Bentley intends to do otherwise. He insists that Zara helps her in chasing down the killer because he knows everything about her abilities and Wisteria’s secrets. He asks Zara to team up with him to carry out the investigation.

Knowing that she could rest easier if the killer is caught, Zara agrees to help Theodore Bentley. As Theodore and Zara dig deeper into the secrets of the town, they are shocked to discover that a deadly killer living amidst them. When they make the mistake of underestimating the killer, the tables turn and everything changes in a single moment. Zara decides that she cannot watch the killer succeed in getting away and hatches a plan to track him down.

Another wonderful book of this series is known as ‘Wisteria Warned’. It was also published in the Kindle format in 2019. This book opens by depicting that Zara becomes busier as she gets older by a year. She is seen as a skillful librarian and a perfect mom. Detective Bentley keeps asking for her help for being a powerful witch. Zara teams up with Bentley again to investigate the case of a missing person. The woman who informs Bentley about the missing person is an old woman called Temperance Krinkle. Temperance claims that she has psychic abilities. And when she says that a small figurine from a local dollhouse has gone missing, she becomes a laughing stock for Bentley and Zara. Soon after, a resident actually disappears. This time, Zara and Bentley don’t have the guts to laugh at Temperance Krinkle.

As the case becomes more intriguing and suspenseful, the detective and the witch are forced to use all their skills to solve it. Zara realizes that getting to the bottom of this mystery is going to require all the resources of Wisteria. She takes the help of her library coworkers, the entire police department, the supernatural agents, and the City Hall. Finally, the time comes when the real identity of the man behind the mystifying crime is revealed. Theodore Bentley and Zara Riddle work together to catch the culprit. This book is set in the fictional world of Wisteria, just like the other novels in this series. Author Pepper has narrated the story from the point of view of Zara Riddle. The fans of Pepper loved this book very much and helped it become widely successful.
