Ann Sutton
Ann Sutton was thrown into the fabulous world of reading at the age of ten by Agatha Christie. She was never the same, and read every single one of her books that she could get her hands on. Mysteries are still her favorite genre to today, so it’s only natural that she’d eventually write her own.

Having been born and raised in England, writing fiction about her homeland continues to keep her connected. After she finished her degree in Education and French and raising her family, writing has become her favorite hobby. She just hopes that Dame Agatha would enjoy Dodo Dorchester just as much as Ann herself does.

Through the years Ann has taught school and tap dancing, traveled a lot, and served on many PTA’s. When she is not busy writing, she loves pickleball, photography, and sewing.

“Murder at Farrington Hall” is the first novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2020. The Honorable Lady Dorothea Dorchester, or Dodo to her friends, has got a nose for fashion and crime. Unlucky in love yet adept at sleuthing, she navigates the world of high society with panache and intelligence.

When she and Lady Diantha (her sister) get invited to a party at Farrington Hall they accept eagerly. The weekend starts with a lot of promise until disaster strikes. A theft leads to a murder and Dodo is called on by her hosts to help out the cops, who are less than happy to have some amateur interfering. Can she win them over and solve this crime?

“Murder is Fashionable” is the second novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2020. Stylish Dodo Dorchester is a well-known patron of fashion. Hired by the famous Renee Dubois in order to support her line of French designs, she travels between London and Paris regularly.

Showing up for the Spring 1923 collection’s showing, Dodo is thrust into her amateur detective role when one of the fashion models is murdered. Working under the radar of the French DCJP Inspector Roget, she follows the clues to solve this crime. Is the killer going to prove to be the guy that she has fallen for?

“Murder at the Races” is the third novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2020. It’s royal race day at Ascot in 1923. Lady Dodo has been invited by Charlie, her childhood friend, to this exclusive party in a private box with the added incentive of meeting the Queen and King.

Charlie seems to be interested in something much more than friendship when a murder interferes with his plans. The victim’s one of the guests from the box and Dorothea just can’t resist snooping around.

When Chief Inspector Blood from Scotland Yard gets assigned to this case, sparks start flying between them once more. The chief inspector and Dodo worked together on another case in the past and he welcomes her assistance with the prickly upper-class suspects. However where does this leave Charlie?

Dodo works eagerly on solving this murder which might have its roots in the more distant past. Can she track down the killer before they can strike again?

“Murder on the Moors” is the fourth novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2021. When all you wanna do is just run away and nurse your broken heart, however murder comes a knocking.

Lady Dodo flees to her cousins’ estate in Dartmoor trying to find relaxation and peace after her devastating breakup with Charlie and the awkward attraction to Chief Inspector Blood which caused it.

Terrified to discover that Veronica Shufflebottom (her arch-nemesis from her school days), has also been invited, she prepares to be disappointed. However all of that pales in comparison when one of the guests vanishes after taking a ramble on the foggy moors. Dodo tries contacting the local cops to report this disappearance, since the person is presumed dead, just to find that somebody has tampered with the ancient phone.

“Murder in Limehouse” is the fifth novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2021. Aristocratic star she might be, however when her new love’s sister gets implicated in some murder, Dodo rolls up those designer sleeves of hers and plunges down into the slums of London.

Dodo’s returned from the moors in Devon and diving into the fashion business for the House of Dubois with one of the most celebrated department stores in all of England, as she waits for this call from Rupert Danforth, her latest love interest.

Curiously, the buyer that she met with at the store, gets murdered the same night in the slums of Limehouse. It’s just of passing interest since Dodo’s got no real connection to this crime. Besides, pursuing the promising relationship that started back in Devon is of a much higher priority.

But fate’s got a different plan. Beatrice, Rupert’s sister, gets arrested for the murder of the very same woman that Dodo conducted business with at the fashionable store. Now she has to solve the crime in order to protect the guy she’s fast falling in love with. Can she do it before Beatrice is sent to trial?

“Murder on Christmas Eve” is the sixth novel in the “Dodo Dorchester Mystery” series and was released in the year 2021. Dodo’s invited to meet Rupert’s family for Christmas.

Dodo, fresh off of the trauma from her previous case, is relieved that Rupert suggests spending this Christmas at Knightsbrooke Priory with his family.

The week starts out promising until Adelaide (Rupert’s grandma) dies during their Christmas Eve dinner. She’s ninety-five and the family believes it’s an untimely natural death, however something seems off to Dodo who uses this moment of shock to take a quick inventory of her body. She finds clues that make her come to the conclusion that Adelaide’s been murdered, however this is news that’s not taken too well.

With multiple family skeletons set rattling around in the closets, the festive week of celebrations goes downhill quick and Dodo fears that Rupert’s family won’t forgive this meddling of hers. Can she solve this case and win their approval back?
