Anna J. McIntyre is the pseudonym for Bobbi Ann Johnson Holmes. A bestselling author, Bobbi turns to the Anna Pen name when she needs to write stories with adult themes.

+Biography

Anna was a child of Hasavu Palms. The place has always held an important place in her heart, which is why she wrote a number of nonfiction books set in the area, published under the ‘Bobbi Ann Johnson Holmes’ name.

Anna J. McIntyre came about because Bobbi was garnering success writing fiction and nonfiction under two other names and she felt a desire to delve into more mature content but she did not want to confuse her readers.

Anna J. McIntyre was created so Bobbi could produce adult romance and historical fiction. The author grew up following professional writers like James Michener. Over time, her tastes evolved and she began to read authors like Diana Gabaldon and Julia Garwood.

Interestingly enough, while reading has influenced Anna’s writing style, the idea of reading for the purpose of pleasure made no sense to her when she was a child. By the time she was in elementary school, Anna J. McIntyre was already writing stories.

She would spend several minutes and hours of her days dreaming up stories in which she was the protagonist. She reveled in the prospect of creating imaginary worlds. It wasn’t until she got to eighth grade that the author saw the merit in reading books. She hasn’t looked back since.

Over the years, Anna has found her eye being drawn towards the self-publishing arena. She resists common notions that indie authors have nothing of note to offer. In fact, Anna believes that some of the best authors in the world are in indie publishing, and those people who claim that self-publishing doesn’t have the capacity to produce good quality books are not looking hard enough.

It was as she trawled through the works of different authors, both indie and traditionally published, that Anna began to form the seed for what would become the Coulson Family Saga.

While Bobbi has written other books as Anna J. McIntyre, it is the Coulson Family Saga that the pseudonym is known for. The author wrote the books out of order. The third book came out first. By the time she began to craft the concept, Anna had written numerous romance novels that had never been published.

The Coulson books were her attempt at writing something different. Her experiment began with ‘Lessons’. The book was easy enough to write. The characters just fell into place almost automatically.

However, even though she had a rough draft prepared, it took Anna 15 years before she went back to it and refined it into a manuscript that could be published. Anna will be the first person to tell you that she truly loved the characters in ‘Lessons’.

Life kept getting in her way, and it wasn’t long before her attention was stolen by other writing projects. But her love for the characters in ‘Lessons’ never faded, and once she went back to it, edited it and published it, she realized that there were additional stories to be told in that world.

As such, even though ‘Lessons’ didn’t sell that many copies, Anna was compelled to take a crack at a new story in the series. This time she decided to reach back further in time to show how the characters in ‘Lessons’ came to be.

The Coulson family Saga eventually took shape, a series of novels about men and women making tough decisions and living with the consequences for the rest of their lives. The books contain a lot of sex and strong language, and that is one of the reasons Bobbi decided to use the Anna J. McIntyre pen name to write the series.

It allowed her readers to separate her family-friendly persona from her adult persona. And the tactic has worked like a charm, winning Bobbi fans for both her clean mystery series and the sensual family saga.

Anna has a heart for aspiring writers. She is always encouraging them to keep writing, regardless of the challenges they encounter. Anna believes that she was able to succeed because she listened to criticism and made an effort to learn from it.

Anna thinks that so many aspiring authors fail because they are so confident in their writing abilities they will not listen to negative opinions about their manuscripts. Anna was fortunate in that she had a humble nature that allowed her to receive and make effective use of criticism, this allowing her to improve her craft.

Bobbi Ann Johnson Holmes has no intention of retiring the Anna J. McIntyre pen name, at least not anytime soon. She still has plenty of adult-themed stories to tell and only Anna J. McIntyre can tell them.

+Coulson’s Lessons

Alexandra’s life takes a sharp turn when the man she loves dies in an accident. Now she is left all alone with a teenage son who she must comfort and raise. Alex didn’t doubt that life as a single mother would be difficult.

However, she didn’t think Garrett Coulson would come into the picture just in time to make things worse.

Garrett comes back home to the town his grandfather built in time to reignite his love for Alexandra. The wealthy and powerful man always thought that there was nothing beyond his reach.

But then he met and fell in love with Alexandra, and then realized that even his money was worthless in his efforts to get the love of another man’s wife. Garrett went into exile to deal with his sorrow.

However, when he learns that Alexandra’s husband has died, he immediately runs back home, hoping to land in the arms of the woman he has always loved.

Unfortunately for him, Alexandra is more concerned about keeping her past infidelity a secret.
