Anne Canadeo is one of the most popular authors of America, who has written a number of highly successful novel series’, several stand alone novels as well as some nonfiction books. She is particularly famous for writing down the famous ‘Black Sheep Knitting Mysteries’ series, which became such a huge hit that it helped Anne Canadeo to become a popular name in the world of mystery writers of America. Apart from writing mystery novels, Anne also likes to write novels and books based on the adventure and contemporary genres. She has the habit of using her real name as well as a pseudonym for writing different types of novels. Under the pen name Katherine Spencer, she has written the famous Angel Island and Cape Light series’. She has co-authored the novels written under her pen name with the famous painter turned author named Thomas Kinkade. In fact, Anne uses the works of Thomas Kinkade and based on that she writes her novels as Katherine Spencer. In her earlier days as an author, Anne has also written several biographies and some nonfiction books. Before becoming an author, Anne Canadeo used to work as an editor of fiction. However, she gave up the job after a short stint and took up writing as her full time career. She has eventually gone on to write more than 30 books in her writing career. As of today, author Anne lives happily in her home situated in Northport, New York, United States along with her husband and her daughter. She is very much fond of dogs as pet animals and likes to play with them. Anne has included a dog in her family as an integral part and member just like others. Whenever author Anne gets some free time from writing novels, she makes herself actively involved in a number of community projects such as preparing food for the needy ones, providing some help to the homeless people, and participating in a literary program for outreaching to the masses and promoting the hobby of reading as well as providing free books.
The Black Sheep Knitting Mystery series written by author Anne Canadeo consists of a total of 8 novels, which were published between the years 2009 and 2015. All the novels of the series deal with the life of the main character, Maggie Messina, who is the owner of the Black Sheep Knitting Shop situated in Massachusetts, United States. The first novel of the series was published by the Gallery Books publishing house in the year 2009. It was titled ‘While My Pretty One Knits’ and apart from Maggie Messina, it also the main characters in the form of Lucy Binger, Phoebe Meyer, Dana Haeger, Amanda Goran and Suzanne Cavanaugh. The plot of the novel is set in Plum Harbor, Massachusetts, United States. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Lucy, Phoebe, Suzanne and Maggie are introduced as the Black Sheep Knitters. They had made a weekly schedule of meeting with each other together once without fail. During their meeting, they would talk about various topics, share the colorful and varied happening of their lives. They would most importantly, talk on recipes, knitting tips and several small town gossips. This way, they had created an intricate and durable pattern of their friendship. Soon, it is found that things do not remain so peaceful as today and many disturbing events have started to take place.
A shocking murder has shocked the people of the peaceful town of Plum Harbor in Massachusetts. The women of the Black Sheep group realize that one of their own has been framed up in the brutal crime and hence, they decided to protect their innocent partner from the scandalous set up. The prime suspect in the murder, Maggie Messina had become a celebrity in the world of knitting after work hard for years and setting up her beloved Black Sheep Knitting Shop. Before the murder took place, Maggie was very thrilled at the idea of hosting a knitting workshop for a former student. At the same time, Amanda Goran, who was the owner of another knitting shop named Knitting Nest located on the other side of the town, is found unconscious in her shop. Amanda was considered to an arch rival of Maggie, but was not as successful as her. Due to the rivalry between the two, Maggie gets arrested as the prime suspect in the murder. Maggie had her valid reasons to dislike Amanda Goran as she had become a thorn in her life after her shop had gained more popularity than Amanda’s. She seemed to be causing a great deal misery in the town as she was about to get married. She was a very contentious woman. After her murder, the investigation by the detective makes them feel suspicious about the role of Maggie in Amanda’s murder. Now, she has to strive hard to save herself from getting convicted of the crime that she has not committed as well as protect the reputation of her shop, her circle of friends and herself.
The second novel of the series was published under the title ‘Knit, Purl, Die’. It was published by the Gallery Books publishing house in the year 2009. The plot of this novel is also set in the town of Plum Harbor in Massachusetts and continues to depict the group of the Black Sheep Knitters, consisting of 5 funny and smart women who love to solve crimes along with knitting and gossiping. In the opening plot of the novel, Gloria Sterling is introduced as a a beautiful and wealthy woman in Plum Harbor, who seemed to have everything in her life including a new husband, who was young and sexy. However, after a short while, her dead body is discovered from her swimming pool, floating with her face down. This spreads a wave of shock once again in the small town. As Gloria was very close to the Black Sheep Knitters, Maggie and her friends were very much upset to lose one of the dear members of their group, mainly because she was a very colorful woman. The investigations by the police leads them to term it as an accident, however, Gloria’s friends seemed to find many loose ends after recollecting her final hours before death. They come to know about a cougar, who was more than 50 years old and had her French manicured tips in ore than one pot and this lead the women to suspect her with some inside deal in her knitting tote. Also, they find two wine glasses at Gloria’s home, which suggested that she was not alone on the night of her murder. The women of the Black Sheep Knitters group seemed to be dedicated to unravel the truth about Gloria’s murder and catch the murderer.
