Anne Lamott is an American writer that has authored a few fictional novels as well as works of nonfiction! Her life has also been documented in a movie, a 1999 documentary about Lamott by Freida Lee Mock called ‘Bird by Bird’.

Anne Lamott was born April 10, 1954 in San Francisco, California, and lives in the area of San Francisco Bay. She attended Drew College Preparatory School located in San Francisco and graduated. She has a lot of views on politics that are left of center as well as her Christian faith, which some may find unconventional.

She has written plenty of fiction, but when it comes to her non fiction works, they are strongly autobiographical in nature. They are also full of some humor, some of which may be self deprecating.
