Anni Taylor is a thriller author who also goes by the pen name Anya Allyn. She is best known as the author of the “Tallman’s Valley Detective” series of novels which she debuted with the writing of “One Last Child” published in 2020. As Allyn, she is known as the author of the “Paracosm,” “The Dark Carousel” and “Dollhouse” series of novels. She began writing fiction from the first time she could hold a pen in hand and believes she would have loved publishing had she been introduced to it as a child. Taylor would have spent days uploading the ton of bizarre stories she was writing as a child. As a teen and later in her twenties, she spent several years working as a writer and then Features Editor for Australia’s “Fairfax Digital.” She currently lives in a small town just north of Sidney with her husband and their four children.
As a person that has loved the fantastic for years, Anni Taylor has asserted that she finds a lot of inspiration from Margaret Atwood. She loves Atwood since she writes fairly simple family sagas that she would be an easy person to write a novel with. Taylor has said that she would not mind working on a project with the author though she would not get much of the credit. As a lover of the supernatural and sagas, the novel she would love to live in would be the Harry Potter world. Taylor thinks it would be so cool to be teleported back to being a child as she always loved the desserts piled on top of the tables and the fact that she would get to learn magic every school day. When she is not writing her novels, she loves to curl up with a book especially when it is raining. She will also spend some time playing games and watching movies with her children who are just as great fans of video games as she is. As for the fiction she reads, she tends to enjoy anything that is a little on the dark side. She also loves black forest cakes a little too much and likes to bake whenever she can find the time.
Anni Taylor’s “One Last Child” is the story of the disappearance five three year old children all on one day. They had been on a nursery school picnic when they had gone missing, changing the lives of their parents forever. Kate Wakeland the Homicide Detective was the grandmother to Ivy who was the daughter of Abby her daughter. The fear and heartbreak was immediate and the police straight away started opened investigations into the case. They knew those first hours and minutes were critically important. But hard as they worked, they were frustrated and just could not find answers. Kate is especially worried given that one of the missing children is her grandchild that she loves very much. Three years later, some unknown person drops off the children except for Ivy, who remains missing. Upon gentle questioning, the children assert that Ivy is dead. Pete and Kate are distraught and Abby despite her mourning state just wants to find the body of her dead daughter. For Kate, it is not only about finding the body but also the man that had killed her grandchild so that she could find out why he did it. The first of the “Tallman’s Valley Detectives” series is a gripping intense and brilliant detective story.
“The Lullaby Man” by Anni Taylor is the story of Abby ,a fourteen year old girl. She had felt something confusing about her teacher but thinks he felt the same way about her too. It was a time of great trauma for Abby and several of her classmates. A decade later, Abby is twenty four years old with two beautiful children. She knows that it is time she talked about the dark secrets from her past that she had been holding in her chest all that time, Kate Wakeland the Senior Detective knew right from the time Abby opened up that she had to take another look into the decade old case that had been declared an accidental death. She made a promise to Abby that she would try her best not to get her entangled in the investigation though she could not give any guarantees. As Franco and her partner Kate worked on finding more evidence, some previously unknown but damning facts come to light. The Lullaby Man had managed to infiltrate many lives but the problem was he could have left the area and disappeared. But maybe he was still around casting spells on young impressionable minds.
