Ashley Emma
Author Ashley Emma wrote her first novel at the age of twelve and self-published it at sixteen. Prior to that, she made books out of printer paper and staples. She wrote a total of eight full length manuscripts before she turned 25 and is now a best selling and full time author.

She has a deep love and respect for the Amish and wanted to make sure that her Amish novels were realistic and genuine. When she was twenty, she stayed with three Amish families in a community located in Maine where she made a lot of friends and did her research.

“Undercover Amish” got 26 out of 27 points as the finalist in the Maine Romance Writers Strut Your Stuff novel writing competition in the year 2015. “Amish Under Fire” was a semi-finalist in Harlequin’s So You Think You Write novel writing competition which was also in 2015. “Amish Alias” was a Gold Medal Winner in the NYC Book Awards in 2021.

Two of her short stories have gotten published online in writing contests and Ashley co-wrote an article for ProofreadAnywhere.com in 2016.

Ashley is the owner of Fearless Publishing House in Maine where she lives with her two kids and husband. She is passionate about helping her clients self-publish their books themselves to enable them build their businesses or achieve their dreams of becoming an author.

“Undercover Amish” is the first novel in the “Covert Police Detectives Unit” series and was released in the year 2016. Detective Olivia Mast would much rather run through gunfire than go back to her old Amish community in Unity, Maine, where she killed her abusive husband in self-defense and witnessed the murder of her family. She quickly learns that there are even darker secrets than the ones from her past, only waiting to get unearthed out of the farm soil.

After an Amish man gets murdered, the community isn’t going to pursue justice or even answer the cops’ questions, so she begrudgingly dons her old prayer kapp and goes to Unity to investigate the murder while undercover. To make things worse, her captain orders her to keep Isaac Troyer safe, the man she dated when she was a teen, who got attacked the night of the murder but can’t remember the incident.

This quirky and handsome cabinet maker starts falling for her again, not aware that she carries a 9mm underneath her skirt while she has to fake her way into the community to gain the people’s trust. After there’s another murder, a kidnapping, and some lethal pranks, she quickly realizes she’s going to need his help most of all.

Isaac asks to court her, and her captain tells her to pretend she loves him, so her cover is more believable. She might lie to Isaac about quite a bit, she never has to fake her feelings for him. Particularly when he tenderly holds her hand or smiles at her. When she finally tells him that she’s a detective is he going to break Amish rules to help arrest the killer? Or is he going to be able to forgive her lying to the community about wanting to be Amish and for lying to him?

She values an important rule over the others: never let emotions, love especially, get in the way of a job. She might just break the rule, with the body count rising and since she’s falling for Isaac again.

“Amish Under Fire” is the second novel in the “Covert Police Detectives Unit” series and was released in the year 2017. After Maria Mast’s abusive ex gets arrested for modern day slavery and sex trafficking, she believes she and her son are safe. The danger’s just started, since somebody’s stalking her, and they want revenge.

Agent Derek Turner of Covert Police Detectives Unit gets assigned to be her bodyguard. The instant they meet during a bank robbery where she saves a young girl’s life, he’s fascinated by her. When she goes back to her old Amish community in Unity, Maine, Derek goes with her, and attempts to blend in. It’s personal, for him. He’s determined to arrest her stalker and shut the sex trafficking ring that he thinks could have gotten his wife killed two years ago.

Maria’s secretive eyes, her painful past, and cautious demeanor all intrigue him. While the human trafficking ring starts targeting this Amish community, Derek wonders if the distraction of Maria is going to cost him his career. And maybe Maria’s life.

“Amish Amnesia” is the third novel in the “Covert Police Detectives Unit” series and was released in the year 2019. Officer Jefferson Martin witnesses a young woman getting hit by a car close to his campsite, all thoughts about his vacation disappear while the car goes speeding off. When the battered and malnourished woman wakes up, she is unable to remember anything before the accident happened. They call her Jane, not knowing what her real name is.

When somebody breaks into her hospital room and attempts killing her again, Jefferson volunteers to protect her full time. He takes her to their Kennebunkport beach house with his upbeat sister Estella and his buddy that he served in the Marines with, Ben Banks.

Her stalker leaves these odd notes, however his attacks get more dangerous and bolder. Jane’s fluent in many languages including German, loves to write and read, dresses conservatively, enjoys going to church, and is a fantastic cook. When he tells her about some assignment he investigated some sex trafficking ring in Unity, Maine’s Amish community, it triggers her memory.

She slowly remembers an Amish farm, and thinks this might be where she’s from, or if she was actually held prisoner there. With his military service, he’s got painful memories and some dark regrets. While she teaches him about God’s forgiveness and love which he once knew as a child, he opens his heart back up to God. Possibly helping her get her memories and life back can help him forget the lives he took and lost in the Marines. The more he falls for her, the more persistent the stalker becomes in making her miserable. And in taking her life.
