Aster Valley (Series by Lucy Lennox)
Author Lucy Lennox writes the “Aster Valley” series of romance novels. Like in all of her work, they feature M/M romances.

“Right as Raine” is the first novel in the “Aster Valley” series and was released in 2021. Tiller, as the first openly gay professional football player, cannot afford to make any mistakes, either on the field or off. And the absolute biggest mistake that he could possibly make at the moment would be to fall for Mikey Vining, his employee, best friend, and more importantly, Coach’s little boy. Doesn’t matter if he fantasizes about Mikey at night, every single night, however actually touching the guy would be a serious personal foul. Falling for him? That is totally out of bounds.

Mikey’s learned his lesson about falling for one of his dad’s players. They are a bunch of spoiled jocks with far more muscles than brains. He’s spent years learning to keep his eyes, as well as his hands, to himself. However resisting the temptation becomes almost impossible when Tiller Raine and Mikey wind up together in this small cabin in the isolated Colorado town.

All of a sudden there is not much to do but just look at one another. And talk. And touch, hopefully. However what’s going to happen when their stay in Aster Valley has ended and it is time to return back to the real world? Is Coach going to blow the whistle on their relationship? Or is Tiller going to admit that there may actually be something that he loves more than football after all?

“Sweet as Honey” is the second novel in the “Aster Valley” series and was released in 2021. When Sam rode his bike into Aster Valley, it was just supposed to be temporary. Only a relaxing and quick visit with his friends. Zero drama, no entanglements. However he then saw the bumblebee getting harassed by the side of the highway.

More specifically, he saw Truman Sweet, Aster Valley’s resident botanist, bee-costume enthusiast, and spice merchant, getting harassed. The second Sam gets involved, all of his plans for a quick getaway scattered like pollen on the breeze.

Turns out that Truman (relentlessly sunshiny, adorkably shy, hot as all hell, and reluctantly still a virgin) has secrets. Secrets that somebody in this charming small town does not want brought to light. Secrets which rouse every one of Sam’s protective instincts as surely as the guy’s kisses rouse, well, other parts of Sam.

And before he knows it, Sam’s thinking that being entangled may not be so bad, if it’s Truman that Sam’s tangled up with. He’s gonna do whatever it takes to protect Truman from the dangers lurking in his past, however after a lifetime of disappointment and loneliness, how can Sam convince him to trust Sam with his future?

“Hot as Heller” is the third novel in the “Aster Valley” series and was released in 2021. The man asked Declan to valet his damn car.

He left LA for good reason, because he’d had his fill of big Hollywood stars and their even larger egos. Declan wants something real. Something genuine. And it just doesn’t get any realer than being the new sheriff of Aster Valley, Colorado. That is, up until entitled Finn Heller shows up on the scene, and hands him the keys to his convertible like Declan’s his personal servant.

This former child star and wannabe action hero is the hottest thing Declan’s ever laid eyes on. He is also a snarky party animal with attitude for days and legions of adoring fans. Or so he thought.

The longer the film crew sticks around in town, the more Declan begins to wonder if Finn is hiding his real self, or one that is just as beautiful inside as out. He is a star alright, however the sort that shines bright enough to light up a night sky. The sort that Declan wants to make a wish on. A wish that Finn will figure out a way to make things work out with Declan, even if this means Finn’s next role is as his very own leading man.

“Thick as Thieves” is the fourth novel in the “Aster Valley” series and was released in 2022. Julian’s been in love with his best friend, Parker, since forever. Okay, fine. Since kindergarten. It began platonically, obviously, but then became, nope, still just platonically. The trouble is that Parker Ellis has always been straight. Which makes it difficult to convince the guy that he and Julian are just meant to be together.

Now there isn’t any point. All is lost. He has gone and gotten engaged to his high school sweetheart and that means Julian has to grin and bear it all as he pretends to be the supportive and happy best man as he prepares to commit his entire life to a woman Julian can’t even fault. She is fantastic. They’ve all been friends forever. He knows Parker will be happy with Erin, just not nearly as happy as he’d be with Julian.

Parker will admit that he sometimes hits the easy button. Like when Julian Thick had offered half his sandwich back during grade school noticing he didn’t have any food of his own. Or when he’d needed a date to homecoming back in tenth grade and Erin volunteered. Or when he’d used the only thing that came easy to him, skiing, to get his college tuition paid in full. Or when Erin turned up six months ago and said it was time to get married and start a family.

However for the first time in his life he’s facing something that’s not easy at all. It’s his wedding weekend and he’s just been left behind at the altar. Not just that, however when his best friend whisks him away to drown out his sorrows in a snowy cabin in Aster Valley, he learns by accident that Julian’s been keeping huge secrets.

The sort of secrets which lead to hot experimental kisses in front of a hot blazing fire, tentative exploration in a way he’d never imagined before, and the sort of true confessions he’d never dreamed about between himself and the only person that’s been Parker’s true home.

However after over twenty years of thinking of Jules as his friend without benefits, could it really be possible to change who they are to one another? There’s no easy button this time around, however he is willing to do the work. He just wonders if Julian is prepared to trust that he really does mean it.
