Primarily focusing on science-fiction and paranormal fantasy romance novels, the American writer Ava Ross has been entertaining readers for many years now. Taking her audience on a journey into the farthest reaches of outer-space, her stories are always fun and engaging, while featuring plenty of romance and passion. Typically writing about alien romances, she has created a highly specific niche which she has very much made her own in recent years. Growing up with a passion for science-fiction and storytelling, Ava Ross would be keenly interested in the craft from an early age. Developing her voice as a writer, she would come to hone her own distinctive style, refining it as the years and time went on. Finding inspiration from other writers and work, she would put it back into her own writing, creating something entirely new in the process.

It was when she would first watch Star Wars that Ava Ross would become interested in heroes and men with alien features. This interest would become a key central feature of her work, as she would seek to really create a style that was all her own. Currently living in New England with her husband and children, she continues to regularly write, as there’s more set in the pipeline.

Writing Career

It was in 2020 that Ava Ross would publish her first novel, which was titled ‘Vork,’ and it was the first in the ‘Mail-Order Brides of Crakair’ series. Other series would include ‘Brides of Driegon,’ ‘Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors,’ ‘Holiday with a Cu’zod Warrior,’ and ‘Galaxy Games.’ Many of the stories would be romances featuring strong alien male individuals having relationships with women.

Over the course of her writing career, Ava Ross has produced a large quantity of work, coming a long way in a relatively short amount of time. She’s also contributed to various other series, writing alongside fellow authors, including the ‘Shattered Galaxies’ series, and ‘Stranded With an Alien.’ Maintaining a presence both online and off, she continues to speak out about her craft, with a lot more to come yet.

Jorg

Initially released in 2020 on the 30th of August, this would be the third book in the ‘Mail-Order Brides of Crakair’ series. Providing another stand-alone romance novel, the books themselves don’t need to be read in order, as each title is self-contained. It’s a science-fiction romance series, and each title is set in the same world, while they also all feature different characters along the way.

Selected for the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Program as a mail-order bride, Lily is plucked from her life as an animal shelter assistant and sent across the galaxy. During her trip to Crakair she’s intercepted though, as aliens kidnap her and trap her on one of the planet’s many moon. That’s when the alien mercenary Jorg turns up, and he’s ready to fight for her, despite her being stolen by other aliens once again. Will he be able to track her down and bring her to safety, can he find his perfect matebond, and what will finally become of the alien known as Jorg?

This story does exactly what it sets out to, which is to entertain the reader and have fun with the science-fiction romance premise. Providing readers with a real sense of escapism, the story never takes itself too seriously, but is nonetheless engaging and compelling in equal measure. With strong lead characters in Lily and Jorg, it’s a must for fans of the author, and of the romance genre as a whole.

Alien Pirate’s Plunder

First arriving in 2022 on the 11th of February, this would be the fourth book in the ongoing ‘Fated Mates of Xilan Warriors’ series. Another science-fiction romance series, the books follow on in order, so it’s best their read together so as to get the most from them. The relationships themselves are all self-contained though, with steamy passion throughout, keeping fans returning for more.

Set in the future, Samantha and her crew enter an alien space station where Xilan males are in the process of Slaking. This process is when they go into heat and require females to fulfil their needs, as spider aliens attempt to impregnate Samantha and the crew. Stepping up to save them Brune helps them escape on a ship through a wormhole into uncharted territory, but it’s here that they land on a planet that may have hostile intentions. Can they manage to save themselves, will they be able to return back to Brune’s world and become an item, and what will become of the alien pirate’s plunder?

Another story that knows exactly what it’s doing, this never falters, maintaining its pace the whole way throughout. The story is thrilling and engaging once again as well, making for a story that keeps readers fully invested not letting go. Each of the characters are extremely well-drawn, making for protagonists that fully come alive upon the page for the audience.
