The “Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery” series is a set of novels by Danielle Garrett. The author has said that she has always dreamed of the stories set in fantastic settings ever since she was young.

Since she had always been a bookworm, she has been on all manner of adventures where she has seen the world through the perspective of elves, wizard princesses and some ordinary but wonderful people.

Danielle now makes her home in Oregon where she lives with her husband with three spoiled cats. When she is not writing her novels, she spends her time beautifying her home.

Danielle Garrett’s “Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries” are a blend of romance, paranormal and mystery novels. Each novel in the series builds on the relationship threads that was introduced in the previous work. It also presents a new mystery that the lead and her gang need to solve in each installment.
Garrett has also written a fun collection of novellas and shorts that are prequels to the events in this series. The lead in the series is Holy Boldt who is a master at making witch potions but has had some problems ever since she lost her parents.

She had become entangled with an evil warlock even though she at that time believed he was her one true love. When he was arrested, she had nearly gotten locked up too but had been let go, even though her reputation was left in tatters.

No one will hire her or even take her on as an apprentice because of her bad rep. She is finally banished from her haven in Seattle along with Boots, her fluffy oversized cat and moves to Beechwood Harbor.

Her landlady at the Beechwood Harbor Manor is the ghost Posy while her roommates are the elemental witch Evangeline, the dog shifter Adam, and Lacey the vampire among several other colorful roommates. It is the manor which soon becomes the home she never had and she enjoys living with new friends in a human world.

The novels of the “Beechwood Harbor Manor” series are full of lightness and humor in addition to romantic excitement and action. Holly has her challenges given her personality and her past. Nonetheless, she is a good hearted and generous person that often finds herself in all manner of problems.

Each novel in the series sees the danger amped up as Holly and her friends have to take a dive deeper into the mystical worlds to solve crime. All this while, Adam and Holly’s relationship gets put to the test. He has never enjoyed the excitement and adventure as it puts Holly in danger.

The best thing about the series is that the characters and the storylines grow organically into a sparkling tale that never stagnates.

“Murder’s a Witch” the first novel of the “Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery” series by Danielle Garrette is a cozy mystery that comes with a beautiful twist. The lead is Holly Boldt, a woman with a lot of secrets.

Following a scandal, she is forced to uproot her entire life and move to what can be described as a halfway house for paranormals expelled from society. She believes she has an opportunity for a fresh start even though in such a small town, keeping secrets is going to be difficult.
Even as a powerful witch, it would be almost impossible to prevent the gossip mill from running. When Beechwood Harbor is rocked by a gruesome murder, Holly inadvertently finds herself in the middle of the investigation.

With the eyes of everyone in town on her, she needs to resolve the mystery or else she will have to leave and go back to living as a witch on the run. Another complication is that her every move is being watched by a paranormal investigator.

There is also a civil war simmering between her shifter and vampire roommates. She also has to deal with a landlord who is on the verge of a major meltdown even as she still has to track down a vicious killer.

The second novel of the “Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series of novels,” Twice the Witch” is set in an old manor owned by a ghostly landlord that rents it out to paranormal tenants.
Holly is one of the renters who works a day job as a barista at a coffee shop. Her boyfriend is Nick, a local private investigator that often works with the police. Holly often meddles in the investigations as she tends to have a knack for knowing things that a human private investigator would never know.
When a cousin to one of the baristas goes missing, Nick is hired as a private investigator thanks to Holly’s abilities. Holly soon gets involved in the investigation and we get to know her more including the backstory that resulted in her being sent away from her witch coven.

Things had been fine until a lovely witch and part-time actress named Evangeline became the newest boarder at the Beechwood Harbor manor. Her entrance results in some tension between Holly and a sexy laid back shifter that she was getting familiar with.

She also causes a lot of tension between Nick and Holly as she is sooin spending a lot of time with him too. Garrett writes an interesting murdr mystery with a lot of unexpected plot twists.

“Witch Slapped,” the third novel of the “Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery” series, sees Holly a nervous wreck as they prepare for the Yule Feast. She has been dating Adam for sometime and now his parents are set to come into town for at least a week to meet her.

Between working at the coffee shop, helping Nick who is working on a cheating husband investigation and making potions, it is enough to grate on one’s nerves. But things are just to turn more complicated as her probation officer will be coming to stay at Beechwood Manor.

If he learns that she has been busy making potions, she could be arrested and end up in a dark, dank cell. When she was banished from the haven she had been told that she could never practice magic. But she has been busy making all manner of potions for her fellow residents at Beechwood.

She is a master at making potions for depression, stress and many other ailments. However, since she does not possess a potion master’s licence, her actions are highly irregular and illegal. If she is found the SPA officer may lock her up for good.
