Ben Mezrich is a popular American author known for writing thriller, science fiction, horror, fantasy, nonfiction, and children’s books. He has written a number of standalone novels in his career, most of which have been widely successful. Author Mezrich was born on February 07, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. His father, Reuben Mezrich, was the chairman of the radiology department at the Maryland University’s School of Medicine, while his mother Molli Newman, was a lawyer by profession. Author Mezrich was brought up in a conservative household that followed the Jewish beliefs. He completed his school education from the Princeton Day School, Princeton, New Jersey. Later, he finished his graduation magna cum laude from the Harvard University with a degree in the subject of Social Studies in 1991. Some of the books written by author Mezrich bear the pen name Holden Scott. Mezrich is mostly known for writing nonfiction books. He married a woman named TOnya M. Chen in 2006 and is blessed with a kid. Mezrich lives with his wife and child in Boston, Massachusetts. The best known nonfiction work of author Mezrich is called Bringing Down the House. This book describes the story of 6 MIT students, who win millions of dollars by betting on blackjack games at numerous casinos of Las Vegas using a sophisticated system of card counting. They continue to use their sophisticated techniques at various other gambling centers throughout the Caribbean and the US, thereby adding many more million dollars to their account. This book had become highly successful after its release and was also adapted into a Hollywood film. It was titled 21 and was premiered in 2008. Just like the novel, the movie also received worldwide acclaim. Even the book is categorized as a work of nonfiction, many of its characters appear composite. Also, several of the events described in the book include the people on whom the characters are based. In 2004, author Mezrich wrote and published a book called Ugly Americans. This book is also categorized as nonfiction and depicts the exploits of an American man named John Malcolm, who used to work as an assistant securities trader.

The next year, Mezrich wrote a semi-sequel book to his debut novel, called Busting Vegas. In this novel, he has described the story of one more MIT student, who also gets involved in a BlackJack team just like the ones described in Mezrich’s first book, but uses better and more advanced system of techniques for card counting. And just like the debut book, Busting Vegas also comprised of many events contested by the chief character named Semyon Dukach, who later mentioned that they were just half true. Author Mezrich’s 2007 book, Rigged gives an account of how the Dubai Mercantile Exchange was set up by a couple of young visionaries, one of whom was involved with the NYME and the other used to work in the Ministry of Finance of Dubai. In 2009, Mezrich wrote a book on Mark Zuckerberg. It was titled as The Accidental Billionaires and described the elements of sex, genius, money and betrayal, which eventually led to the founding of what became the number one social site, the Facebook. This book went on to debut at the No. 4 spot on the Nonfiction Bestseller List by NYT, and No. 1 position on the same list by the Boston Globe. The book was adapted into the screenplay for the Hollywood movie The Social Network by Aaron Sorkin. The 2010 movie had David Fincher as its director and Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield in the lead roles of Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin.

An initial book written by Ben Mezrich in his career is entitled ‘Reaper’. It was released by the HarperTorch publication in 1997. Author Mezrich has introduced the main characters in this book as Nick Barnes and Samantha Craig. The central theme of the book is based on a deadly man-made virus called Reaper. This brilliantly lethal virus travels through the electronic highway and infects the victims by just flicking a switch. And within no time after infection, the victim turns chalk white, crashes in pain, and then dies. What seems more deadly about this virus is that no one can escape from it. There seems no place on earth where this virus cannot travel and infect people. People can get infected by just turning on their television or booting their computer. It is learned later that the terrorists who have spread this plague have all the resources, money, and power, as well as the access to each and every house and office in America. As a result, no one has immunity against the lethal virus. Now, the burden of stopping the deadly virus lies on the shoulders of a couple of medical sleuths, paramedic Nick Barnes and virologist Samantha Craig. They are required to match wizardry and wits with the monstrous creation, the high powered cabal, and its creator and come up with a master plan so as to save the world from a great devastation.

Another mind blowing book written by author Mezrich is called ‘Seven Wonders’. It was released in the year 2014 by the Running Press publication. The primary characters of this book include Jeremy Grady, Jack Grady, and Sloane Costa. This globe trotting thriller novel matches the likes of The Da Vinci Code as it is full of conspiracies, historic secrets, adventure, and a lot of intrigue. At the start of the story of the book, it is shown that a reclusive mathematician named Jeremy Grady disappears mysteriously. His estranged brother named Jack Grady takes it upon himself to find out the reason behind his disappearance and get him back. The search for his reclusive brother takes Jack on a far flung journey from Peru, India, Brazil, and beyond. Jack unravels a mystery that links all the Seven Wonders and finds out that his brother might have discovered something that was concealed for many centuries. He takes the help of a scientist named Sloane Costa and unravels a conspiracy behind hiding the roadmap to the Eden Garden, and the reality related to a mythological ancient culture. The climax of the story is filled with panoramic backdrops and heart pounding pace. Overall, it appears to be an electrifying and intriguing read. The book was highly appreciated and liked by many readers all over the world. It received a lot of positive reviews from the critics. The excellent reviews and praises motivated author Mezrich to write many more interesting books and stories in the days to come.
