Benedict Brown
Writing has always been Benedict Brown’s passion. It was his favorite half-an-hour a week during primary school, and when he was a teen, he started his first, absolutely abysmal book. So it wasn’t all that tough of a choice to study literature while at university which led to getting an MA in Creative Writing.

He is a Welsh-Irish-Englishman that is originally from South London yet now lives with his French/Spanish wife and European daughter in Burgos, a gorgeous city in the north of Spain. He writes overlooking the Castilian countryside, attempting to not get distracted by the hawks, vultures, and red kites which fly past his window every day.

At some point in time, he got obsessed with creating a truly fantastic kids’ book and wrote everything from environmental dystopian fantasies to fairy tales on through to serious issue based teen fiction.

Benedict’s book “The Princess and The Peach” was long listed for a prize in The Times, and an American producer was hoping to adapt this novel into a film. But, no matter how good the feedback he got was, sadly, the mainstream publishing world wouldn’t take a chance on him, as a debut children’s novelist. So finally, he decided to write for adults, instead.

Benedict grew up in a crime fiction family. He had made a few half-hearted efforts at writing a crime novel of his own through the years before he came up with his detective, named Izzy Palmer.

“A Corpse Called Bob” is the first novel in the “Izzy Palmer Mystery” series and was released in the year 2019. Izzy’s childhood dream is going to come true. Oh, and somebody’s about to murder her boss. Nobody at work actually liked Bob Thomas, however who hated the guy enough to do him in at last?

When Izzy discovers her very loathed boss after he was stabbed to death in his own office, she is convinced that she is the only one able to solve this case. She is a crime fiction devotee, having been a fan of whodunits her entire life and is determined to locate this killer. Sure, the cops have zero interest in her helping out, her best bud is acting incredibly suspicious and she may kinda be falling for a suspect. But none of that’s going to get in her way. She is almost definitely the detective South London’s been crying out for.

Is a detailed knowledge of every single golden-age mystery plotline going to be enough to work out who it was that killed Bob or is Izzy going to end up being the next victim?

Izzy is a tenacious, quirky, and funny woman that winds her way through this whodunit with more turns and twists than a corkscrew.

“A Corpse in the Country” is the second novel in the “Izzy Palmer Mystery” series and was released in the year 2020. A murdered millionaire, seven suspects, and just forty-eight hours to work through whodunit. Izzy has always dreamed of investigating a country house mystery, but never dreamed that she’d get £100,000 to do so.

Aldridge Porter, a financial tycoon, was a hard-headed businessman and now he is a stiff-muscled corpse hanging in his library. Each of his kids had a reason to want their miserly dad out of the way, however was it the way, the golden child, the playboy, the underachiever, or the vamp that actually stuck their knife in? Unless it was the butler, of course.

Izzy’s going to need to call on everything that her obsession with detective fiction has taught to her to uncover the true secrets of Vomeris Hall and the eccentric family that resides there.

“A Corpse on the Beach” is the third novel in the “Izzy Palmer Mystery” series and was released in the year 2020. A free vacation on the Atlantic coast is too great a chance for Izzy to turn down. However shortly after she and Ramesh show up at the opulent Cova Negra Hotel, it’s obvious that there is something strange about these other guests.

A beautiful young woman’s body winds up on the private beach, Izzy learns there is darkness lurking under all the luxury. A string of robberies, a sketchy organization with a violent past, and the unexpected celebrity guest make getting to the bottom of things even tougher. While she, and sometimes Ramesh’s cats, start to investigate, then she learns that nobody is exactly who they might appear to be.

As the corpses pile up and the cops being baffled, Izzy has to confront her most savage opponent to date. However how will she be able to catch this killer when each of her suspects is more duplicitous than the previous one?

“Murder at the Spring Ball” is the first novel in the “Lord Edgington” series and was released in the year 2021. A little music, a little dance, a bit of murder at the spring ball. England in 1925. After spending years being shut away from the world, ex-detective Lord Edgington of Cranley Hall plans this great ball to celebrate his seventy-fifth birthday.

However once somebody begins bumping off the members of his scheming family, this old man enlists his teen grandson to help track down the killer, before one of them can be next.

This mismatched pair have to pick the culprit out of a gaggle of scatter-brained spinsters, playboys, and irate inspectors.

“A Body at the Boarding School” is the second novel in the “Lord Edgington” series and was released in the year 2021. There’s something rotten at the Oakton Academy for Distinguished Young Gentlemen.

With the rumors of cheating, fighting, and all night parties (and this is just the teachers), the headmaster is close to losing full control of the school.

When there’s a corpse found, having been bludgeoned to death with this monkey statue on the final day of the term, detective Lord Edgington, along with his bumbling grandson Christopher, are there to catch the killer. However with such a range of despicable suspects (still just the teachers) plotting prefects, and the maniacal students to pick from, is this discordant duo be up to this challenge?
