Benjamin Wallace is a science fiction, comedy and humor and thriller author. Before he became a bestselling author, he worked in advertising for several years until he could no longer take it. He never enjoyed writing and then have other people that could not write change things while acknowledging that they were not writers.
While he published his first novel very recently, his dalliance with writing started a long time ago. Wallace still remembers his first story which was a blatant rip-off of “My Science Project,” the movie. He was only eight years old then and did not understand anything about copyright and how illegal his actions were.
When he was eleven years old, he remembers reading Steve Martin’s “The Cruel Shoes,” which he loved. It proved to him that books could be funny which he always thought they should be.
Right then he knew that even if he had to read all manner of boring stories in class he could always find something worth reading outside of it.
When ebooks became all the rage, he took the chance to combine his hatred of authority and love for making up things to write his first novel.
Wallace’s favorite genre is adventure and action and he can often be found reading man on the run stories and a good treasure hunt. Over the years, he has read everything from Cussler, Du Brul and Ludlum and has often aspired to write adventures that would rival theirs.
However, given his irreverent streak, his novels will always have some fun and comedic elements. In addition to reading, he has also been a huge fan of post-apocalyptic movies, which have been something of a guilty pleasure. He often found it weird that no one had ever thought of making comedy from the genre.
He had the idea while in high school but could not get a good angle from which to approach it. Furthermore, he did not want to make jokes that seemed forced or silly. What he wanted was humor that came not from the situation but from the characters.
In addition to his novels, he has also written short stories that allow him to be creative in getting a quick reaction from his readers.
Benjamin Wallace’s style is inspired by Douglas Adams. He asserts that almost everyone knows what a spaceship looks like and hence a writer should not waste his time describing it. To trigger a reader’s imagination, it is better to leave things unsaid, which can make for more colorful images in their minds.
Since he writes comedies, this helps to keep things brief since no one wants to watch two hour comedies. As for why he loves the post-apocalyptic genre, Wallace has said that he finds it the ultimate sandbox with no restrictions or rules.
He also knows that everyone is convinced that they will be the ones who survive an apocalypse and this is what makes his novels so fascinating to readers. The most rewarding part of his writing has been when his readers get his very obscure jokes.
Benjamin Wallace has said that it is always a great feeling when he hears back from his readers regarding some very obscure things in the novels he never thought anyone would figure out.
Post Apocalyptic Nomadic Warriors is set in a world that is not that bad even though there are mutants all over the place. For the citizens of New Hope, the biggest headache is where to find a new short stopper for their local team rather than finding medicine or food.
This means that a post apocalyptic warrior will find it so hard to find any work. The good thing is that a band of vicious killers are heading for the peaceful town which they intend to burn to the ground. The only person qualified to stop the band is a well trained post apocalyptic nomadic warrior.
Two warriors are interested in the job and one is sent to patrol the wasteland and the other invited to help. Did the people of New Hope make the right decision in choosing their saviors. It is a fast paced adventure and action novel set in a dark future with a lot of humor and comedy.
Benjamin Wallace’s novel “Knights of the Apocalypse” continues to explore the end of the world in a very different perspective of the apocalypse. Post apocalyptic nomadic warrior Jerry, his wife Erica and their loyal mastiff have been forced to flee when a price is placed on their heads.
But then their vehicle breaks down in Colorado and they are forced to work for the ruler of the Kingdom of the Five Peaks, King Elias. On the quest, they will meet with new foes and old friends, fearsome knights, savage mountain men and mutant cannibals among many other characters.
Driven by steam and powered by gold, the kingdom is like a phoenix rising from the ashes to become a place of relative peace and prosperity. Soon after, the king offers them a new start but they are not sure if they should take it.
“Pursuit of the Apocalypse” by Benjamin Wallace is an exciting sequel to the first two novels of the “Duck & Cover Adventures.” Set in a very bizarre post apocalyptic world is Mr. Christopher, a bounty hunter who has taken The Librarian’s wife Erica.
They intend to use her as bait to get The Librarian to come out of hiding so that they can capture him and get the bounty placed on his head. But what the kidnappers do not know is that they are also being hunted by a gang of wasteland raiders angry with them for breaching a contract they had entered into.
In Alasis, a powerful movement has been growing under the leadership of The Librarian who everyone deems a hero. Lord Invictus intends to put down the movement and has sent the mysterious and fearsome Skinners to suppress it. Ultimately, the citizens of the city value equality and freedom above all.
