Berserker Book Series

Berserker is the first book in the Berserker book series. The accounts of man’s battles against the exceedingly Berserker machines begins with this book. Unlike most novels, Berserker is a compilation of short stories, which when joined together, tell a much bigger story. Initially, all these stories were published separately but were later joined. The stories in this book revolve around a hockey alien that has been reading minds for many years. The book series is told by a narrator who has the ability to read the minds of all the people involved in the fight against the impeccable Berserker foe. In the initial stages, the Berserker use ships to overwhelm their enemies, however, once they begin to face defeat, they are forced to change their tactics.

With that said, Berserker is made up of numerous short stories for such a small volume. All the stories have been brilliantly written. The author, Fred Saberhagen began working on this stories during the 1960’s and the reader is going to impressed by how some of these stories held up to the various technological changes that we have undergone. Saberhagen mainly concentrated on some of the key human attributes and managed to make the advances in technology rather timeless. Brother Assassin is the second book in the Berserker book series. Just like the first installment, Brother Assassin revolves around the robotic killing machines that have arrived in the human occupied space with the aim of destroying all kinds of intelligent life. As the second book, Brother Assassin encompasses a set of three novellas that were originally published in the year 1967. Due to the unique properties of the planet Sirgol, the Berserkers have not only mastered time travel, but they have also, in turn, send assassins to kill an exceedingly important figure with the hopes of destroying technological advancements.

The main characters in this novel are Derron Odegard, who happens to be a member of Time Operatives. He is charged with saving one, Vincent Vincent. Despite the fact that Brother Assassin is a collection of short stories, the narrative has been well conceived and the plotted pieces that involve the killing machines and time travel have been well presented. Berserker’s Planet is the third book in the Berserker book series. Berserker’s Star is the 12th book in the Berserker book series. In this installment, we are introduced to one Harry Silver whose pride lies in his oversized weapon collection and his deep love for poetry. However, once he successfully landed on Hong’s world, he is informed that people are being evacuated because the planet is moving exceedingly close to the sun. Harry decides to make the most of this opportunity and in turn, offers two businessmen and the exceedingly sweet Gunnlod a trip to the planet Maracanda for money.

Upon arrival, Harry’s ship is confiscated. An old friend informs Harry that he is going to get his ship back only if he is willing to assist the friend. As Harry and Kul travel on the earth’s surface, they content with various phenomena’s such as extreme gravities, rocks that perambulate, narcotic soils and extreme gravities as well. Berserker’s Man is the fourth book in the Berserker book series. At first glance, the title appears to be something out of a comic book hero magazine. Berserker Man is the story of a person who is not socially accepted and exceedingly unusual. He is not accepted by his age mates and those who are older than him. Berserker Man is an adoptee on Alpine, a colonial planet that is rich in mountains, lakes, and forests as well. Earth has been losing the war against the machines. A brand new weapon has been formed. A series of devices and force fields, which can be put on by a person. The devices are used to enhance the wearer’s ability and natural instincts as well.

Michel’s lack of high IQ and ambition makes him a unique and suitable candidate. With that said, the reader is going to enjoy Michel’s expansion as a character. Putting on Lancelot made him exceedingly strong and invisible as well. Overall, this is an excellent addition to the Berserker book series. The Ultimate Enemy is the third book in the Berserker book series. In this book, the readers meets once again with the Berserker, a group of death machines that have vowed to destroy human kind. In this book man has been portrayed as an exceedingly fragile form that hides in an exceedingly puny frame. Overall, the Ultimate Enemy is a pretty descent read.
