Beth made her debut into writing when she wrote A Tiny Dash of Death the first of the Brightwater Bay Mystery series in 2018. Since then she has gone on to become one of the most prolific authors in the genres.
Outside of her writing Byers is a lover of baking, and unique flavors and can often be found conducting experiments with all manner of recipes. She is also obsessed with curling up with a book and a hot cup of cocoa while enjoying the smell and sound of rain.
Byers currently lives with her four children and their three dogs in the Pacific Northwest.
In Beth Byers debut novel of the Violet Carlyle Mystery series “Murder & The Heir” we are introduced to the lead characters of the series. Victor and Violet Carlyle have been invited to visit their aunt Agatha and arrive to find a host of relatives they have not seen for ages.
They have always spent their holidays with Agatha, their aunt since the death of their mother but things are different this time. Since they have some ghastly cousins, they are forced to invite along some reinforcements. Their visit happens to be an occasion for the reading of their great aunt Agatha’s will.
But there is a complication as it does seem that there is someone who is determined that the will should not be read. Agatha believes that her life is in danger and Vic and Violet are the lead suspects given that they may inherit the most wealth if Agatha were to die.
The huge irony is that neither of them needs or wants the money. Moreover, Violet is horrified at the thought that the woman she considers a mother is in danger of being killed for her money. She intends to clear their names and investigate the case to find out which of their horrible cousins could be responsible for setting them up.
But first she will have to deal with Theo, her cousin’s unpleasant friend and also tangle with a detective from Scotland Yard.
“Kennington House Murder” the second novel of the series by Beth Byers is set a few months following the events of the first novel. The friends and twins are back in town to attend the wedding of Violet and Victor’s younger sister. They had made the wrong assumption that the groom would be just as young.
A union of youths is something they are ready to support and they believed the parents would too even if they would have preferred someone more mature. Upon arrival, they see the man in charge of the proceedings who informs them that the groom has claimed that the twins are interested in investing in some project and that they need to release funds as soon as possible.
Since they never agreed to any investment, they fear for their sister. Things only get worse when they learn that the man who is to marry their sister is a man in his late fifties. He has also been seen canoodling with several other very young women around London. The twins swing into action alongside Jack Wakefield and other friends as they try to stop the wedding.
Meanwhile, their step mother thinks Isolde found a good match and managed to convince her to proceed with the wedding. But the man is murdered just before the wedding, complicating things. Violet feels guilty since she had been responsible for revealing the man’s scams and sets out to investigate who could have killed him.
Beth Byers “Murder at the Folly” sees Victor, Violet, Isolde their younger sister and Gerald their older brother holidaying in Bruges. They thought a vacation far away from London would help them forget the events of the past few months.
Violet has been having a good time shopping alongside Isolde but longs for England as she is interested in knowing if the strong big sometimes detective still feels something for her.
She will never admit to losing her heart but when they bump into Tomas who has always held a candle for her, she knows that she will have to reveal her truth and break his heart. Tomas is in Bruges with an entourage of Theo his friend, Algie his cousin and the twins all of whom go back to England with him.
But the man has a dark past and the only person who can help him deal with his demons is Violet. When he throws a huge party Violet is worried that the past could come back to haunt him.
