Betsy Schow is an American author. She has appeared on the Today Show and other media publications for the purposes of promoting her non fiction book, titled Finished Being Fat. In it, the author talks about her own journey to lose weight and is a memoir of her own diet, exercise, and body image and health adventure.

The author says that she has been mixing up fantasy and real life for some time now– as far back as she can recall! Betsy is the proud owner of a truck that is a bit run down, but she says that she is now convinced that it is the gremlins under the hood that are messing with its engine and the dust bunnies are the reason why her home’s so messy!

She lives with her husband and their two daughters in Utah. When she is not busy writing, she is a tournament director for a program called Odyssey of the Mind, a program that aims to help kids develop their creative thinking and sense of adventurous exploration.

Betsy Schow is the creator and author of the Storymakers series. This fictional fantasy series kicked off in 2015 with the release of the debut novel, which is titled Spelled. Wanted is the sequel and it came out quickly after the next year. The third book in the series came out in 2018 and it is titled Banished.

Spelled is the first novel in the Storymakers series. Check out this fantasy novel that is geared for young adults but can be enjoyed by anyone!

When it comes to fairy tales, it’s time to make up your own rules if you’re going to survive. After all, wicked witches and more lurk in the forests, whether they are magical in nature or not. So if you find that you have run into a witch that definitely intends to do you harm, why not sing a song and try to summon someone to save you?

It’s a good strategy, particularly if you are not that capable of defending yourself. And after all, the name of the game is making it through. It doesn’t matter how you do it! That might have been a good plan for the old times especially if you were a damsel in distress that needed a man to swoop in and rescue you.

Singing for a prince to come and rescue her is the last thing that Dorthea is thinking of doing. For the time being, she’s totally done with most royalty. Looking out for some prince to save her when she’s capable of saving herself is just not what she’s thinking about doing right now.

She’s not just anyone, either– she’s the princess of Emerald. Her standards are high and she was born into a world where she never had to worry about anything. She had couture ball gowns designed for her to wear that paired up with designer heels that never failed to impress. There are plenty of benefits from being born into royalty, but also plenty of reasons to wish that you had just had the opportunity to live a normal life.

There are a lot of expectations that come with being royalty, and Dorthea has found that out the hard way. Now the latest thing they’re throwing at her is a scenario that she’s not sure she wants to indulge. Her family wants her to marry a prince, the charming Prince Kato. She imagined what she would do in the future, and getting married to some stranger was not a part of the vision.

There’s no way she’s going to let this prince marry her just to make her family and his happy. The princess is determined to do anything but walk down that aisle and live unhappily for the rest of her days. She’s desperate to get in the way of the marriage happening, so she decides to try and fix everything by wishing on a star.

Dorthea just didn’t count on that star being cursed. Well, you know how the saying goes– be careful what you wish for. Now her kingdom is being plunged into chaos and her parents are nowhere to be found. Apparently, they’ve been transported to a place that is known only by the name of Kansas.

The princess never thought that wishing on a star could do this much damage. Sure, she wanted to fix the problem regarding Kato, but she never imagined that a random action could have this much effect on the kingdom. She has no other choice but to team up with the prince to try and go track down a wizard that might just be able to help them lift the curse.

Can she track down this wizard and try and reverse the magical spell before it comes to full fruition? With the kingdom in danger of a wicked witch being summoned and putting everyone in jeopardy, the princess must team up with the last person that she ever expected to align with to get the job done and save them all.

Can she do it? Read this book to find out!

Wanted is the exciting sequel in the Storymakers series by fantasy author Betsy Schow. If you loved Spelled, then check out this fun second fairy tale inspired installment for yourself!

Rexi is the daughter of Robin Hood and she’s always been proud of the fact that she’s an outlaw just like her dad. Ever since she partnered up with the princess of Emerald, they’ve been a pretty solid team. They rarely go anywhere without the other ever since they joined forces to take on a wicked witch.

Now Rexi has a new challenge– stopping a witch from tracking down the sword Excalibur. To do that, she’s going to have to break a curse and stop worrying whether she’s the main hero or the sidekick.

She’s trying to get to the sword first so she can control what happens. But with danger everywhere and a new school for villains opening, this girl has her work cut out for her. Read this book to find out what happens next!
