Bobbi Holmes is an American author that writes mysteries. The author has made a splash writing under the pseudonym of Anna J. McIntyre.

+Biography

Bobbie Holmes first started writing books under her full name – Bobbie Anne Johnson Holmes. At that time she was writing nonfiction, with some of her more notable works revolving around Havasu Palms which is where she grew up.

Bobbi took to writing about the government and tribal misdeeds she encountered in Havasu Palms. The author also spent plenty of time writing about her family. Though, many of the author’s fans might be hard-pressed to name any of the books she has written as Bobbie Anne Johnson Holmes.

It wasn’t until the author began producing novels as Bobbie Holmes that her star began to shine. As Bobbie Holmes, her brand grew not only because she was producing fiction but also because of the entertainment value of the ‘Haunting Daniel’ series for which she is best known.

The books are cozy mystery novels that follow the exploits of Danielle Boatman, a woman that can see ghosts. When Danielle inherits an ancient house from her aunt, she is shocked to find that it comes with its own ghost and all manner of murder mysteries.

It could be argued that the ‘Haunting Daniel’ books put Bobbie Holmes on the map. Like many other mystery authors, Bobbi should have been criticized for the tropes she relies upon in her simplistic mysteries. However, she has been commended for writing simple, straightforward but highly entertaining mysteries that feature numerous twists and turns.

Her use of humor is often the highlight of the novels, not to mention the manner in which she blends the supernatural with the mystery elements.

Bobbie was in elementary school when she first started writing. Like so many authors, Bobbi was a dreamer. She had friends and she didn’t mind hanging out with them. But she also didn’t need them to have fun.

Bobbie was perfectly content sitting in a comfortable shade and spending several hours dreaming up stories. Bobbie initially obsessed over writing. Reading didn’t come into the picture until she was in eighth grade. The author loved creating her own imaginative tales in which she was the hero. It wasn’t until she discovered the likes of James Michener that the author’s love for reading began to grow. She realized that there was so much more for her to learn from experienced authors.

Even after she produced her first novel in high school, Bobbi Holmes never stopped reading and she never stopped learning, eventually gaining a taste for authors like Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey, and Diana Gabaldon.

Bobbi’s friends will use words like ‘persistent’ and ‘eclectic’ to describe her, and Bobbi agrees with those descriptions. She believes that those two attributes have helped her garner success as an author.

It is difficult to pin Bobbi down. As a reader, she has a variety of interests and preferences and it shows in the ideas and concepts she eventually generates for her novels.

Bobbi Holmes has written craft, poetry and recipe books on top of her fiction. Some of those books she has written over a period of two decades or more during which time she has been collecting ideas and making observations about her life and the goings-on of her society.

Whenever aspiring authors approach Bobbi for advice, she always encourages them to learn to listen. While Bobbi cannot point to anyone moment that made her career as an author, she can point to all the moments she shared her work with others and they criticized her.

Bobbi could have lashed out at these people. Some of them were downright nasty and made it a point to put people like her down. But Bobbi knew better. She made an effort to listen. She realized that there was something to be learned from the criticism.

She couldn’t see the numerous clichés that littered her earlier works, not until someone pointed them out. And in the process of dealing with all those criticisms, Bobbi Holmes saw her writing abilities improve.

As such, Bobbi encourages every aspiring writer to not only write and to not only share their work with others but to also pay close attention to the feedback and to act accordingly. The only people that fail in publishing are the ones that refuse to listen and learn.

According to Bobbi Ann Johnson Holmes, she writes under the Bobbi Holmes pseudonym so as to keep her fiction works separate from her nonfiction works. Bobbi thinks that using the same name to play in different genres might cause confusion for her fans.

+The Ghost of Marlow House

Danielle Boatman is fortunate to inherit the Marlow house from her Aunt. Danielle believes that there is money to be made by turning the house into a seaside Bed and Breakfast.

Things take a sharp turn when Daniel learns that Walt Marlow, the previous owner of the house, is haunting the place as a ghost. And he has no intention of moving on until Danielle figures out how he died.

This is the first book in the ‘Haunting Danielle’ series, which is what put Bobbi Holmes’ name on the map. The book tells the story of Danielle, a woman that has been able to see ghosts ever since her grandmother came to her shortly after her death.

When Danielle finds a ghost in her newly inherited house, she isn’t afraid. But she is less than enthused about investigating Walt’s decades-old potential murder. She has even less patience for the secret of Marlow House that others seem dead set on acquiring.

+The Ghost Who Wanted Revenge

Danielle Boatman did not like Stoddard Gusarov. And it wasn’t a secret that she had a score to settle with him. However, Danielle would have never murdered Stoddard. Unfortunately for Danielle, before he died, Stoddard had the nerve to point the finger at her as his murderer.

If that wasn’t bad enough, the ghost of Stoddard is back and it is angry. Stoddard won’t rest until he gets his revenge. Danielle must find Stoddard’s killer before the police drag her off to prison. This is as she tries to keep Stoddard’s ghost at bay.
