James Patterson’s BookShots are original stories that feature a complete, cinematic style storytelling experience in just 150 pages. Many of the James Patterson’s top characters have appeared in BookShots including Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, and the Women’s Murder Club. These stories are designed for busy people who don’t have a ton of time to read, but still want to read high quality stories.

You can find James Patterson’s BookShots by clicking the links above where we have a complete BookShots list. Or you can find them by downloading the BookShots app on your iOS or Android devices.

James Patterson is one of the most successful authors of all-time. He has sold over 350 million books during his career and he is the owner of the Guiness World Record for the most books to reach number one on the New York Times Bestsellers List. Patterson was the first person to sell one million e-books, a number he has surpassed many times since. He is the creator of the following all-original characters and series: Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, Women’s Murder Club, Private, NYPD Red, Daniel X, Maximum Ride, and Middle School series.

Patterson has been a generous supporter of schools and teachers throughout his career. He has donated millions of dollars in grants and scholarships throughout his career, and is always looking for ways to encourage Americans to read more books. Patterson was awarded the Literarian Award from the National Book Foundation in 2015. That same year he established the James Patterson Pledge with Scholastic Book Clubs to bring young readers books.

Alex Cross is one of James Patterson’s most popular characters so you knew he’d be on this BookShots list. His first book is called Cross Kill and is a great BookShot to read if you’ve read Along Came a Spider. Alex saw the killer from that book, Gary Soneji, die over ten years ago. He was there, but today he swears that he saw him. Alex Cross’ partner was gunned down and he could swear that it was Soneji. How is that possible? Was Soneji still alive after all these years? Was he a ghost? Or was it something much more sinister that he Alex couldn’t possibly be prepared for?

The second Alex Cross BookShot is called Detective Cross and sees the city of Washington, D.C. falling into panic when an anonymous caller promises to set off deadly bombs around the city. Everyone is struggling with whether the situation is real or a hoax. Alex and his wife, Bree Stone, are the ones to uncover the truth. However, it may already be too late.

No BookShots list would be complete without the Women’s Murder Club. The first BookShot written in this series is called The Trial, written with Maxine Paetro. This lightning-fast story sees an accused murder known as the Kingfisher is about to go on trial for his life. In order to get out of it, he does the unthinkable. Kingfisher unleashes violence on the lawyers, jurors, and police involved in the case, which manages to paralyze the city. Now, Detective Lindsay Boxer and the Women’s Murder Club are right in the center of it.

The Women’s Murder Club BookShots also has The Medical Examiner, again written with Maxine Paetro. A woman checks into a hotel room and enters with a man who is not her husband. Things get bad when a shooter bursts in and blows away her lover, shoots her, and leaves her for dead. However, she doesn’t die which makes for a perfect case for the Women’s Murder Club.

Another popular James Patterson character is Michael Bennett and his first BookShots appearance comes in Chase, written with Michael Ledwidge. This book sees Detective Michael Bennett investigating what looks to be a suicide. A man plunged to his death from the roof of a Manhattan hotel and the case looks rather open and shot. However, there are a few things left at the scene that leave Bennett questioning things. There’s the fingerprints that belong to someone else and $10,000 in cash. Bennett will need to work fast if he wants to solve this one in under 150 pages.

A great thing about BookShots is that it covers a variety of authors and genres. Love Me Tender by Laurie Horowitz is what’s known as a BookShots Flames Original romance novel. The story features a journalist named Leslie Stern who never wanted to write her entertainment stories when she was studying to be a journalist. That’s where she is though so when she is given the assignment to interview Patton King, a country singer who claims to be Elvis’s grandson, she decides to go all in. She sets out to uncover the truth about his backstory and write a scathing review. That’s the plan at least, but there’s more to Patton than meets the eye and she finds herself drawn to him in ways she didn’t expect.

A standalone BookShot is 113 Minutes, written with Max DiLallo. Molly Rourke is a mother who just lost her son. He was murdered and she knows who did it, so she decides to take the law into her own hands and get revenge.

Another popular standalone BookShot is Dead Man Running, written with Christopher Farnsworth. This one sees an eccentric psychiatrist named Dr. Randall Beck who has been diagnosed with a terminal disease. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, the diagnosis makes him fearless. When a patient is murdered before his eyes, a patient with a secret, he’ll need that fearlessness to escape the same fate.

Kill and Tell is a BookShot written with Scott Slaven. The story features a famous Holly director named Wayne Tennett who is accused of an unspeakable crime by his stepdaughter. He swears that he didn’t commit it, and now his life and career are left hanging in the balance. The question becomes whether she is telling the truth and if she’s not, why did she lie?

I just read BookShots ” Cross Kill”. It was very good but is there a sequel so we know how Alex Cross’ arrest is settled?

I have read many book shot books but I lost track of which ones I’ve read so I wanted a list of oldest to newest so I can try to figure out which ones I’ve already read. I love the books because they are so quick and easy to read while traveling.
