Brandon Mull, born in November 8th in the year 1974 in the United states of America and growing up in Connecticut, is actually an American writer and a novelist by profession, who is renowned as the author of some of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today best sellers; The Fablehaven fantasy series and the Beyonders. Having attended Mt. Diablo Elementary school in Clayton in California, Brandon mull then proceeded to attend The Pine Hollow Middle school and then to The Clayton valley as a student eventually graduating at Bringham Young University (BYU) in Utah in the year 2000. It is while at BYU that he actively participated and led the Sketch comedy group; The Divine Comedy. Thereafter, Brandon Mull went on not only to serve in the Church of of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Chile for almost 2 years, but he is also known to have assumed and worked as a comedian, a patio installer, a filling clerk, a movie promoter as well as a copywriter and somewhat as a chicken stacker.

Growing up as a child, Brandon Mull, who says that he was always very passionate about animals, owned a dog, a cat , a fish, a horse and a kind of tarantula further reiterates that he had an interest in exploring the world through rabbit holes and wardrobes which was however in vain. Instead, he resorted and went on to daydream of such like adventures which were triggered and inspired largely by Narnia books and the Lord of the Rings series. These made Brandon Mull’s mind explore a lot of Imaginary worlds and so as he says that , ” fantasy helps us to look beyond the actual to the possible as well as to the impossible and that fantasy stretches our imaginations” Brandon actually, loves the story of possibilities that comes out as he tries to change the rules of reality.

Boasting himself to have been a reasonably smart and generally friendly and sort of a goofy person, Brandon indicates that as a kid he kept the desire to write books a secret, having known that that succeeding as a novelist would of course be a challenge, plus he did not want people thinking and perhaps worrying that he was probably crazy and therefore as a kid he kept all these to himself. However, he went on making up adventure stories and sometimes sharing them with his friends and siblings. Many at times even daydreaming and trying to make up stories. But as he grew up and became of age, these stories become more elaborate and more compelling and thus he decided that he needed to share them with others. That is when he became serious about writing.

Through his high school and college journeys, he practiced by writing short fiction. After his graduation at the BYU, Bringam Young University, he went full throttle and started to work on his first full length novel. Unfortunately, he was rejected by numerous agents and various publishers before an editor at Shadow mountain publishing , as fate would have it, promised in his work. So when he was asked and called upon to see something else, even after Shadow mountain not taking in his first book. He wrote the Fablehaven. This was the breakthrough into his writing career, and went on to write the candy Shop war. Meanwhile the idea on Beyonders had been in his mind for almost 10 years, indeed one of the stories that had lured and driven Brandon into writing novels.

Basically, the Beyonders is a story about heroes; Heroes of fantasy world called the Lyrian and the Emperor Maldor. Here Emperor Maldor is out to buy off and to destroy the heroes of Lyrian. None of them is left at the beginning of the story as most have been destroyed and have thus given up. However, there comes up a girl and a boy, Jason and Rachel from the convectional world who are learning to be heroes. Meanwhile, some of the destroyed heroes are now again coming out of the retirement. There now exist various characters such a the Blind King, once a very great swordsman before his sight was taken by the emperor. There is also one of the races called the Amar Kabal with seeds at the base of their skull such that when they are killed these seeds can be planted and then their body can grow once again and then they can live while these seeds preserving their memories thereafter. The Beyonders complete set is in three series from a world without heroes to the seeds of rebellion and the Chasing of prophesy conservatively.

The fablehaven on the other hand is in 4 series from the rise of the evening star, the grip of the shadow plague, the secret of the dragon sanctuary and the Keys to the Demon prison. The remarkable success of the Fablehaven seemed to have not only captured a wide reader market, but it has since attracted the attention of the Hollywood, with the producer of the Iron Man and the Spiderman; Avi Arad purchasing the full rights to make Fablehaven movie. Fablehaven is actually right now being optioned by Schaffer studios and as things might have it should be hitting the theaters very soon

On the other hand, the Candy Shop war which was originally meant to stand alone, seemed to have attracted a huge fan base that they not only requested for a sequel but right to produce the movie on this book has also been sold. Therefore even as Brandon Mull is working in his writing career, he is now living and spending his life in Utah together with his wife and their four children and their family dog, that is after spending his childhood life in Connecticut and in California as a child. Of course numerous work of this talented and brilliant writer are in the making with quite a number of interesting books and best sellers now out there for book enthusiast to read. So besides spearheading a seven book series known as the Spirit animals, Brandon Mull is now actively involved in writing a promoting some of his works in the society, crossing the country talking to students and young readers with the strong message that imagination can literally take you places.

I have finished the entire dragon Watch series and return of the Dragon Slayers. What would you suggest I read next that might follow this series and the adventures. I am 72 and cannot tell you how much fun I had reading these books. Now that Seth is no longer worrying, I would like to stay along his line of adventure.
