Anderson’s novels are appreciated by the critics as well as fellow writers. Many of them have described him as the master of fantasy stories. His immense success in the science fiction and fantasy genres has helped him to develop a huge fan following.

Anderson cherishes all the praise and attention. He likes it very much when people refer to him as one of the top-ranked writers. Author Anderson was born in Montgomery, Alabama, the United States in 1971. He was brought up in a small town called Spanish Fort, located in Alabama. Anderson completed his schooling from the Fairhope High School and then attended the Springhill College. It was during his college days that he developed an interest in fantasy stories. Anderson says that before he realized, his interest had turned into an obsession and followed it accordingly. He feels proud of his decision to pursue a career in the field of writing. Author Anderson is happily married and is blessed with a son. His family is very supportive of his profession. He sees them as the most important critic and takes their suggestions very seriously. In addition to spending time in writing his novels, Anderson likes to be in the company of his beautiful wife and a lovely son. The other things that he likes to try his hand at during his spare times include playing chess, reading historical facts, researching about his future projects, gardening, etc.

Anderson considers himself fortunate to have wonderful interactions with his fans. He sees them as important as his stories. Whenever his fans send his messages or emails saying that they have enjoyed reading his work, he loves it very much. It is because of such love and affection from the fans that Anderson feels obliged to write keeping in mind their tastes and preferences. For him, the idea of publishing cannot exist without the fans. Anderson feels that the best part about writing novels is knowing that he is able to bring a smile on the face of the readers. Seeing their excitement and eagerness before the release of his latest books makes him excited too. He thinks of himself as more of an entertainer than an artist. The elaborate stories and beautifully crafted writing for expanding the mind and touching the soul excite Anderson very much. Accordingly, he respects all those who are able to produce such genuine literature works, and consider them true artists. As a writer, Anderson always looks to satisfy the readers, but at the same time, he doesn’t intend to write anything just for the sake of writing it. He works on the ideas that he thinks he could turn into a good story and his readers would like. Currently, Anderson is working on a few titles to add to his list of popular series and is expected to release them very soon.

The Akiri series written by author Brian D. Anderson is comprised of a total of 3 books published between 2016 and 2017. Anderson has written this series in collaboration with Steven Savile. They have described this series as a heroic fantasy filled with adventure, adrenaline rush, and action. The debut book of this series is called ‘Akiri: The Scepter of Xarbaal’. It was released by the Longfire Press in 2016. This novel features the primary characters in the form of Zemel, Akiri, and several others. Anderson has set the story in a fictional world called Acharia. The book opens by showing that Acharia is at war. It is ruled by Zemel, the Sorcerer King. He claims to be invincible and gets his hands on a weapon of madness called Scepter of Xarbaal created by death god Xarbaal. With the magical power of the Scepter comes a curse of madness. When the people close to Zemel realize that he has gone mad in his thirst for power, they try to stop him by stealing the scepter.

When Zemel learns about this betrayal, he kills Akiri’s father, who hid the scepter. Then, he raises Akiri as a loyal servant. Zemel casts his magic on Akiri with the help of an Oathstone that keeps him connected. The Oathstone prevents Akiri from telling any lie to Zemel. In this process, Akiri is granted immense powers that make him stronger, faster, and a very good fighter. Zemel sends Akiri on a difficult mission. He asks him to reach out to his estranged uncle and trick him into thinking that he has left the king. Up to this point, Akiri doesn’t have any memory about his past. He seems to have no concern about his father’s death or the circumstances in which he died. When Akiri begins the mission, he is freed from the Oathstone. As a result, his powers get diminished and he turns into a normal person. Now, the only thing he remains good at is sword fighting. During the journey, Akiri comes across a dragon that awakens his powers. He moves ahead with the mission carrying numerous doubts in his mind. He keeps wondering whether he should remain loyal to Zemel or betray him and take revenge for his father’s death.

The next installment of the series is called ‘Akiri: Sands of Darkness’. It contains the central characters as Kyra and Akiri. Initially, it is described that Akiri & Kyra have traveled across the Valharoth Desert in search of fortune among the mysterious and the rich kingdoms located in the East. Now, Akiri has turned against the gods and decided to make a new destiny for himself. As the gods cannot be ignored so easily, Akiri gets caught in a web of difficulties again. Akiri learns that an old evil has spread all over in the Yagash kingdom as a plague. In order to overcome the plague, the kingdom’s dark leader orders the Hajazar Cult to capture the innocent for blood sacrifices. One of the young men they set their eyes on is someone whom Akiri has promised to protect. If he fails in saving the child, then the old gods will return and this would mean the destruction of the world. Akiri is determined not to let that happen. He has by side the support of Kyra and his own wit and sword. He makes himself ready to face the cunning, powerful, and fierce enemy.
