Brian O’Sullivan
Author Brian O’Sullivan was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, going to high school locally before he went off to UC Santa Barbara for college. He was naturally bright, but just did not enjoy the 9-5 life, so he dedicated himself full time to hone his already refined poker abilities. He played professionally for almost a decade, achieving some great heights, and playing against some of the very best in the world.
Knowing that he did not want to spend the rest of his life on the green felt of a poker table, he settled in Los Angeles and started penning screenplays. He had always been a writer, and enjoyed the allure in Hollywood. But it is often about who you know in Hollywood, and his scripts never found their way into the right hands. Brian began dedicating himself to writing novels, and the rest is history.
“The Bartender” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. Olive is a Los Angeles bartender that has been unlucky in love. She hopes this will change when one of the best looking guys she has ever laid eyes on steps foot into her bar. Yet he is just not what he seems.
Austin is charismatic, tall, and compellingly attractive. However unbeknownst to the smitten Olive, he’s not dating her for her beauty, but just for her usefulness. He and his childhood buddy have got a depraved plan in motion.
Becca is a con artist and a grifter that is looking for her one big score. She has found out that Olive’s boss has got hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash at his house, which is located in the Pacific Palisades. Becca will do anything she has to in order to make it hers.
Olive winds up as the unknowing intermediary and Austin is her willing co-conspirator, however both are mere instruments in Becca’s orchestration. She’ll stop at nothing in order to get what she wants. Not even murder.
This is a multi-narrative and twisting thriller told through the eyes of one brave heroine and some unforgettable villains: Olive, who is the strong yet innocent young lady pulled into something sinister. Austin, sensing this is all going to end terribly, yet without any of the gumption to stop it. And Becca, with dollar signs dancing in her eyes, and without any regard for human life.
O’Sullivan has got a gift for scary and sick characters. His plot twists make his books like a roller coasters, with hooks in each and every chapter. The format is interesting and worked for this book, and it was nice to have first person thoughts rotating around between the different lead characters.
“Revenge at Sea” is the first novel in the “Quint Adler” series and was released in the year 2020. Quint Adler is a small town crime reporter with much loftier aspirations. Stuck in a hospital bed on his 40th birthday, and overhears a sinister conversation.
Sensing an opportunity, he begins his own investigation, bypassing the local law enforcement in the process. His inquiries lead him to the scene of a brutal murder. As well as a second one, which is even more barbaric. Then things begin spiraling out of control, and Quint winds up a suspect in the murders and starts believing that his dad’s recent death may not be an accident.
Quint attempts to clear his name however he realizes the real killer is above the law. In order to find justice, he must resort to some extreme measures: following this sadistic murderer out to sea.
“The Bay Area Butcher” is the second novel in the “Quint Adler” series and was released in the year 2020. A Zodiacesque killer brings Quint along for the ride. Quint, after he almost lost his life at sea, has been enjoying his downtime with Cara, his gorgeous girlfriend. However these carefree days come to a crashing halt.
Bay Area cops get a letter. It’s from a man claiming he is about the begin a killing spree which will go down in history. And he makes mention of Quint by name, pulling him into the case. The killings start and comparisons to The Zodiac abound, however it’s obvious The Bay Area Butcher is going to surpass him in both notoriety and victims.
He continues sending his letters, mocking the cops, needling Quint, and even giving the date that each series of murders is going to be carried out. It becomes an international tale with The Butcher’s fascination with Quint right at the forefront of it all.
“Hollywood Murder Mystery” is the third novel in the “Quint Adler” series and was released in the year 2021. Quint gets his private investigator’s license and goes off to Los Angeles so he can celebrate. In just a day of arriving, an old friend who is now a Hollywood producer, tells him that he fears for his life.
He is dead the very next morning. As Cara sees the seedy Hollywood underbelly for what it really is, Quint ignores her warnings and sets off to catch this killer. With a limited knowledge of Hollywood and an ever-increasing list of suspects, Quint has finally bitten off much more than he can chew.
Combining elements of the whodunnit and the noir genres, this one is sure to keep you guessing until the last page.
“Nine Days In Vegas” is the fourth novel in the “Quint Adler” series and was released in the year 2021. Quint heads for Vegas and begins investigating the disappearance of Emmy Peters, who is a beautiful 22 year old showgirl. There’s zero suspects and very little evidence. It is like Emmy just vanished into thin air.
Quint is still determined, his investigation that leads to beautiful women, big-time casinos, gambling, as well as other Sin City trademarks. But he is unable to make all that much progress on the case. However then he gets a text that changes everything. Somebody claims that they know where Emmy was buried.
This is the most shocking and wildest case that Quint Adler has taken on in his short career.

I’m starting the 3rd Brian O’Sullivan, Quint Adler Thriller series (Hollywood Murder Mystery). Fascinating, suspenseful reads! Love the main characters and the storyline. The first 2 were terrific and I’m certain the Hollywood Murder will be as well. Thanks Brian for sharing your craft!
