Cajun series by Sandra Hill

Author Sandra Hill pens the “Cajun” series of romance novels. The series began publication in the year 1999, when “The Love Potion” was released. The series is made up of both novels and stories. The books are stand alones, with characters having romances with each other. These books feature the LeDeux family, in particular.

“The Love Potion” is the first novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 1999. This novel stars Sylvie Fontaine and Lucien LeDeux. A love potion inside a jelly bean. Yes, really. Fame and fortune are just a swallow away after Dr. Sylvie Fontaine is able to find a formula that will be guaranteed to attract members of the opposite sex. Her own love life is just hypothetical, this rather shy chemist’s future has just been assured. Assuming, of course, she can find a human guinea pig.

The only problem is that the wrong dude swallowed her love potion. Lucien LeDeux, a bad boy, is far more than she is able to handle before he is dosed with the Jelly Bean Fix. This wildly virile attorney is the last guy she would ever pick to subject to the scientific method.

Once the dust settles, Luc and Sylvie have gotten answers to some important questions. Could it be possible for a straight-laced lady to lose all of her inhibitions? Is a man able to die of testosterone overload? They find that old-fashioned romance is still a great catalyst for love.

“Tall Dark and Cajun” is the second novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 2003. This novel stars Rachel Fortier and Remy LeDeux. Rachel Fortier, who is in her thirties and works as a home design consultant, has become fed up with her fiance. It was bad enough, him giving her a Butt Buster for her birthday and a Thighmaster for Valentine’s Day, and their seven-year engagement doesn’t really seem to have an end to it. Now she is finding out that he has had a vasectomy.

Rachel packs her stuff and goes to the south to see her great-aunt Gizelle for the first time and have some time to regroup. She thinks she is going to see Grandma Walton, who lives in a nice little house surrounded by nature. She finds a cabin on stilts deep in the bayou, and snakes as huge as alligators and telephone poles. Aunt Gizelle was once a taxidermist that can outcreep Hannibal Lecter at any time.

If this wasn’t enough to make this girl turn around and go right back to her ex, Gizelle is fighting a Cajun bad boy, who is named Remy LeDeux. He is a helicopter pilot and Air Force vet, whose face has been scarred in battle. Remy is looking to buy land off of Gizelle, but the feisty senior makes it clear that she wants nothing at all to do with any member of the LeDeux family. He sees Rachel getting out of a truck, and falls in love with her on the spot.

It happens, even with all of the problems she brings into his life, with her ex hunting for her and the plans she has made to Feng Shui his houseboat. Her aunt even wants to shoot him in the butt. Having Rachel marry him makes it worth it, for sure. He has never met a lady that looks at him like she is a chocoholic and he’s a Whitmans Sampler box.

“The Cajun Cowboy” is the third novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 2004. This novel stars Raoul Lanier and Charmaine LeDeux. Charmaine LeDeux, who owns two beauty salons on the Louisiana bayou, is being followed by a loan shark. Raoul Lanier, who she thought she had gotten a divorce from many years before, tells her that they are still married. The pair has inherited his father’s crumbling cattle ranch. He promises he is going to give her a proper divorce, all she has to do is sell her part of the ranch to him. She figures that this ranch is a great place for her to lay low for a bit.

Raoul does not want Charmaine to live with him at all, but she has been stubborn forever. She takes the house over quickly, adding in her feminine to everything, and she even has his three ranch hands eating right out of the palm of her hand. Raoul realizes he has lost the fight for good when her belly-dancer aunt, as well as the rest of the LeDeux clan come over for Thanksgiving dinner. He should probably just yield to temptation that she is rousing up inside him. If he could just protect her from the Dixie mafia hunting for her, and make her see that he is really worth a second chance at love.

“The Red-Hot Cajun” is the fourth novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 2005. This novel stars Rene LeDeux and Valerie Breux. The hot and long Louisiana summer just got even hotter for Rene LeDeux. He goes back home to southern Louisiana after he quit his job in Washington, where he worked as an environmental lobbyist. Years of fighting with land developers and the oil industry have left him totally burnt out, and all he wants is to work on Bayou Black, his cabin.

His peace of mind is ruined by some things. His great-aunt Tante Lulu is determined to see that he gets married. Some of his activist friends have come up with a plan to bring national attention to their cause, which is to save the bayou. They have kidnapped some television celebrity and brought her back to Rene’s cabin. She is none other than Valerie “Ice” Breux, who was Rene’s nemesis while they were growing up.

Val is now stranded in Rene’s isolated cabin, besieged by LeDeux relations and the two dingbats looking to save the swamp. It was bad enough being kidnapped, but did she really have to land in the lap of the sexiest, most irritating hunk she has ever seen? Val vows she is going to give her heart to the bad boy once alligators fly. He swears to get this girl that got away. It has never been more steamy in the bayou than with the pair of people this red-hot with their desire for each other, and more than ready for love.
