Carissa Broadbent is an award-winning author of paranormal romance that has been freaking out parents and teachers with her grim and merciless tales since she was nine.

Since that time, she has grown and now writes less depressing and more readable fiction works. Carissa has now made a name for herself penning fantasy fiction works with a pinch of romance and a huge dose of sassy ladies.
She made her fiction writing debut with the publishing of “A Palace Fractured,” the first of the “Valtain Preludes” series of novels.

Outside of her fiction writing endeavors, she works in the cybersecurity world as a marketer and a part-time graphic artist whenever she can spare some time.

Carissa now lives with her fiance in Rhode Island alongside two bunnies and one very skittish cat. She sometimes spends some time on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, where she usually interacts with her fans.

Carissa’s journey toward becoming an author affirms the idea that one is never too young to begin the pursuit of their dreams. By the time she was thirteen, she had already penned her first work of fiction which was a 50-page superhero story.
She wrote throughout her childhood years but in her teenage years, she just could not write even though it was always on her mind.

The writing bug became too strong when she was in college and after she was done with college she knew she just had to publish.

She self-published her first work soon after but thought it was too bad that she took it down in just a few months.

During that time when she was trying her hand at writing, she was very green and did not know anything about writing characters or plots.

Carissa Broadbent would really come into her own when she discovered online writing communities during the 2000s.

She made use of online sites and forums where she connected with a lot of people that loved storytelling.

Broadbent then used to post on the now defunct site “RPG ToolkitZone” uploading her stories chapter by chapter. It was what she used to post there that would later become “Daughter of No Worlds.”

While Carissa Broadbent was determined to become a published author after learning a lot from online communities, things were not so easy once she tried publishing.

After writing her manuscript, she drew inspiration from self-published and driven writers in her community who were churning out even ten books every year.

Carissa decided to go quality over quantity and in 2017 she would ultimately self-publish “A Palace Fractured,” her debut novel and the first of the “Valtain Preludes” series of novels.

Nonetheless, she did not make much headway with her debut and the one that followed it. Ultimately, it was with the publishing of “Daughter of No Worlds,” the first of the “War of Lost Hearts” series of novels that she would make it big.
The novel became a bestselling title and marked her entry into mainstream fiction. The work has since then sold hundreds of thousands of copies and gave her the confidence to write even more fiction works.

“Daughter of No Worlds” by Carissa Broadbent tells the story of Tisaanah, a former slave on a quest for justice. He is joined by a reclusive warrior and some dark magic that will entangle both their fates.

Tisaanah had been taken from her homeland when she was just a kid and in the ensuing years had learned how to survive with nothing but a touch of magic and a sharp wit.

However, the night she attempted to gain her freedom she nearly dies. After leaving she has to come back to save the best friend she had left in captivity.

But to save her friend she will need the help and training of the Wielders a powerful organization of people with magical powers.

Before she is allowed to join, she will need to work under a reclusive and handsome fire wielder named Maxantarius Farlione who hates the Orders.

The Orders have mysterious intentions and Tisaanah will have to show her worth to them under the threat of looming war.

During this time, she develops some intense feelings for Maxantarius and believes the bloody past he is so determined to forget may just be their downfall or the key to her future.
Still, Tisaanah will do anything to save her best friend, even if it means sacrificing her heart or taking part in dangerous and even deadly games.
It makes for an intriguing romance of redemption, dark magic, vengeance, and passionate romance.

Carissa Broadbent’s novel “Children of Fallen Gods” continues to follow the life and times of Tisaanah.

In the previous outing, she had given away her own freedom so that she could save her best friend from slavery.

She is now in a blood pact and will have to fight the wars of the Orders, even though Max is determined to do everything in his power to protect her.

Things turn hairy when a betrayal tears apart Tisaanah, Max, and Ara who find themselves in a very bloody conflict. Tisaanah has to somehow control and harness Reshaye’s power if she is to claim victory.
Meanwhile, Max has been made a leader and needs to face up to everything including his mysterious magical powers and his past. All this while dark forces are looming which are darker that the darkest of the Order’s secrets.
As Max and Tisaanah find themselves ensnared in twisted secrets and ancient magic the biggest question is if they would be willing to sacrifice for love for power and for victory.

In this work, the novel gets even more intricate as the author introduces new characters making for a thrilling story.

In “Mother of Death and Dawn” Maxatarius and Tisaanah are just coming from a crushing defeat that has ripped them apart.

Tisaana will do anything to rescue Max who has been taken prisoner, even as her people’s quest to finally be free turns more treacherous.

But inside the walls of Ilyzath, Max is no longer the great mind he was. He no longer has a good grasp of reality and his future and past are now at the mercy of the ruthless new queen of Ara.

In the meantime, Aefe who is in the Fey Lands has been taken by a king determined to destroy civilizations under her name. But as the past comes back to haunt her she finds her former self is unrecognizable.
Aefe, Max, and Tisaanah find themselves in the middle of a cataclysm between the Fey and human worlds. The positive lining is that they have the magic that may be key to either ending the war or winning it.
However, wielding the power will need a lot of sacrifice with Max having to confront his past while Tisaana may have to choose between duty and love.
