Carlton Mellick III is a renowned American author of the horror, fantasy, and Bizarro fiction genres. He is well known for writing many popular standalone books on his favorite genres. Some of the widely popular books written by him include Satan Burger, The Menstruating Mall, Apeshit, etc. Author Mellick was born on July 02, 1977, in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. No sooner than he started his literary career, then he became famous in the underground literature’s ‘Bizarro’ movement as one of its leading authors. Most of the work of author Mellick has been described as an interesting combination of the postmodern and the trashy schlock horror/sci-fi literary art. His books are said to have explored earth’s surreal versions in imagined futures and a contemporary society. They commonly focus on the social satire and social absurdities. Author Mellick started writing fantasy stories when he was just 10 years old, and by the time he reached the age of 18, he had already completed writing around 12 novels. However, only one of those 18, Electric Jesus Corpse, managed to get printed and see the light of the day. Author Mellick’s first novel, Satan Burger, helped him start his literary career on a high note. It was translated into the Russian language and was released in 2005 by the Ultra Culture publishing.

This book served as an installment of the 4-book series known as the Brave New World. The other books that featured in this series include William Gibson’s Virtual Light, Pat Cadigan’s Tea From an Empty Cup, and John Shirley’s City Come A Walkin. During the late 1990s, author Mellick had formed a collective team of several offbeat authors that also included Kevin L Donihe, D Harlan Wilson, Vincent Sakowski, and a few others. This team also included a publishing company called the Eraserhead Press. All of this helped to set the scene of the movement of Bizarro fiction in 2005. Along with the wide scale successes, Mellick’s career also had its fair share of controversies. His debut book, Satan Burger, was made to get the attention the public in 2005 following the incarceration of Jared Armstrong from Girdwood, Alaska. However, in the case of Jared Armstrong, the charges of showing and giving indecent materials to a minor were dismissed 4 months later by the court. It was found in the hearing of the case that the fifteen search warrants and eventual arrest that the police department Anchorage executed for the novel’s dissemination were absolutely illegal. Later, Jared Armstrong brought a suit of Federal Civil Rights against the case’s lead detective named Gerard Asselin. But, it was dismissed by the court in 2013. Author Mellick says that he received great inspirations from the successful works of the prominent authors like Kurt Vonnegut, John Waters, Dr. Seuss, David Cronenberg, Roald Dahl, Russel Edson, David Cronenbe, etc. These individuals influenced him throughout the course of his writing career. In addition to being a popular novelist, Mellick has also worked as a musician and an artist. He says that he is now looking forward to write many more interesting novels for his fans, who have supported him through the years of his struggle and success.

An initial book written by author Carlton Mellick III is entitled ‘The Haunted Vagina’. It was released by the Eraserhead publishing company in the year 2006. The book consists of the main characters in the form of Steve, Stacy, Fig, etc. Mellick has described a woman’s vagina as the gateway to a deadly world full of lifeless people and the difficulties that arise in loving such a woman. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Steve loves his girlfriend named Stacy madly. He sees her as an eccentric girl, who makes his day every time he meets her.

But, their relationship begins to strain when something weird begins to happen during the events of sexual intercourse. When some odd noises start coming out of the pubic region of Stacy, Steve becomes very much worried. A point comes into their lives when Steve terms Stacy’s vagina as haunted. However, Stacy believes that Steve is just over-reacting and that the situation is not something to worry about so much. Steve does not agree with her on this, but tries to move on with the hope that the problem will subside in the future. Later, when the two are enjoying another night of sex, a living dead jumps out of Stacy’s vagina in an awkward manner. This makes Stacy realize that her vagina serves as the doorway to a different world. But, instead of getting afraid of her condition, she asks Steve to go into the new world through her vagina and explore the strange place.

At first, Steve doesn’t agree to this, but Stacy manages to persuade him in doing so. After moving in the new and strange world, it becomes very difficult for Steve to come out of it. And the difficulties rises to a whole new level when Steve comes across a weirdly attractive lady named Fig. This woman informs Steve that she has been living a lonely life in the haunted world between the legs of Stacy for a very long time. Steve doesn’t know what to do next and how to find a way to move back to his normal life in the normal world. He continues to find ways of making it out of Stacy’s haunted vagina safely.

Another exciting book penned by Mellick is called ‘Zombies and Shit’. This book was published in 2010 by the Deadite Press. At the beginning of the story of this book, author Mellick has depicted that 20 people wake up to discover themselves in an old building located at the center of a wasteland filled with zombies. After scratching their heads for some time to understand what is happening with them, they realize that all of them have been selected to be the contestants on a reality show known as the Zombie Survival.

All the contestants are provided with a supplies, backpack and a separate weapon to use against the threats. And the first person to come out alive from the zombie plagued city and reach a specified final location will emerge as the winner of the contest. There is a helicopter available for them to use and fly over the city safely, but it has been provided with only a single seat. So, the contestants begin to fight against one another to get the helicopter seat. Soon, the zombie attack begins and they run here and there to save themselves from the living dead. The contestants are required to battle out a real-life show about life and death, and cannot afford to make even the smallest mistake. This book seems to be a trashy and thrilling description of a zombie world.
