Carol Lynne is a popular author that has written many erotic romance novels, many of them targeted towards a section of the market that is often not catered to.
+Biography
Carol Lynne has written a lot of novels during her relatively short career, taking the publishing world by storm with the sort of interest and popularity she has attracted. Carol primarily writes Gay literature.
That is the brand with which she is most commonly associated. Carol’s books do not seem to differ that drastically from other books in her genre. They are erotic in nature with elements of romance.
And the story beats are not so different from every other erotic romance novel on the market. Carol’s link to fame is rooted in the fact that her books apply the erotic romance formula to the gay community.
One would assume that the author’s novels would be restricted in their success because they can only appeal to a very specific audience. However, the author has a surprisingly large following even outside the Gay community.
Certainly, Carol Lynne’s content is very specifically targeted towards particular readers. But she has also proven that she has the ability to write decent stories that have the capacity to engage one’s sensibilities, regardless of their opinion on the Gay community.
Carol’s fans appreciate that she makes so much of an effort to shine light upon the Gay community, availing stories that this marginalized group of people can enjoy where other authors would be happier to simply see their literary needs ignored.
When it comes to Carol Lynne the person, she claims to be no different from her readers. Despite her popularity, Carol thinks that she is a relatively boring person. When she isn’t writing, the author is taking care of her two young children, a task that she doesn’t diminish in its difficulty.
Many a day has found Carol struggling to get jelly out of the carpet instead of writing her manuscripts. Luckily for Carol, she has plenty of novels in her library to help her fight the stress of juggling her writing and child rearing.
Some of Carol’s favorite writers include Chris Owen and Sean Michaels, not to mention J.M Snyder.
One thing Carol Lynne cannot live without is coffee. Carol admits that she drinks way too much coffee, particularly instant coffee. And even with all the hell her friends and family raise about the issue, Carol has no intention of dropping the habit.
Besides coffee, Carol Lynne has a strange love for Country Music. She would call her love for the music genre strange because she rarely plays country music in her house, probably because the author has an odd disinterest in the idea of having music playing in the house.
When Carol does listen to music, it is usually in her car as she is driving around town. Those few moments are more than enough to cater to the author’s hunger for music.
Where some people might call Carol overweight, she would rather call herself underheight. When the author isn’t reading or taking care of her children or drinking coffee or even driving around town listening to country music, she is watching Hallmark commercials, which she actually prefers to Hallmark movies.
Carol tends to dabble in both series and standalone novels. When asked about her advice to aspiring authors, she always highlights the importance of not forgetting secondary characters.
While authors can get away with ignoring everyone but the protagonists in standalone novels, Carol doesn’t think a series of novels can survive without a well-developed cast of supporting characters.
Carol has suggested that she prefers standalone novels because they allow her to focus her attention on her heroes; though, with series, she admits that it is fun to explore the lives of all the odd characters that surround her protagonists.
Even though Carol’s books are specifically categorized as erotic romance, she tends to branch out into other genres. The author has written about everything from cowboys to vampires.
The one unifying aspect of the author’s books is the passion and the sex.
Besides writing Gay literature, Carol also organizes an annual conference of sorts that brings together other people like her, authors that write Gay literature. The retreat consumes a lot of Carol’s time and effort but she always persists because of the varied and dynamic fun that usually ensues during the so called GayRomLit Retreat.
+All Play and No Work
Nate, Ryan and Rio stick out like a sore thumb. They might harbor a bit of love for their small Texas town but it eventually becomes obvious that they must find greener pastures elsewhere.
And fortunately for them all, Ryan has a new job in Cattle Valley. He wastes no time in leading his men to a community where tolerance is a virtue. Ryan knows that no one in Cattle Valley will even spare them a second look because of their unique relationship.
However, Ryan is in a better position because he has a job, and being sheriff is bound to keep him busy. Nate and Rio are not so fortunate. They must find a way to make a living in their new home, even with their unique set of skills.
This novel’s strongest aspect is its cute but cheesy atmosphere. Even though it is the first book in the Cattle Valley series, the novel immediately throws readers into the action, making them feel at home in Cattle Valley.
Cattle Valley is amenable to the heroes of the book because most of its inhabitants are Gay. As such, Ryan and his men know that they will fit right in.
+Sweet Topping
When he lost his legs to an accident years ago, Kyle Brynn never thought he could reclaim his life. But that is exactly what he did, getting his business up and running and becoming the independent individual he always sought.
However, with independence came loneliness. Luckily for Kyle, there is a new player in Cattle Valley, a former football star who suddenly quit his career and decided to operate a garage.
Carol Lynne’s purpose in writing this book was to show the strength of the human spirit. She explores the lives of two individuals that must fight to overcome difficult obstacles.
