Carol Wyer is a renowned writer from the United Kingdom, who has won numerous awards for her work. She has written many successful books in her career. Wyer is also known to have created some very interesting characters in her stories. She has penned stories in the thriller, humor, nonfiction, comedy, and literature & fiction genres. Author Wyer has the habit of describing the natural idea of growing older in a humorous way. And she has done this in several of her books, which have been well appreciated by the readers all over the world. After beginning her writing career in the humor and comedy genres, author Wyer moved on to writing some dark themed stories. She embarked on this phase of her literary career with some thriller novels.

Author Carol Wyer’s first attempt at coming up something in this genre, Little Girl Lost, helped author Wyer reach the number 2 spot in the best selling list of Kindle and number 9 on Audible’s bestselling audiobook’s list. The book was also included in the list of top 150 bestsellers by USA Today. Author Wyer’s highly successful DI Robyn Carter book series ended up selling more than 300 thousand copies in the first year after its publication. Author Wyer became the winner of the People Book Prize in the nonfiction category with her book called Grumpy Old Menopause. In addition to writing under her name, author Wyer uses the name Carol E. Wyer for writing her books. She is equally famous with both her names.

Author Wyer has appeared in numerous interviews on radio shows where she has discussed many times her successful books, Ageing Disgracefully ad Irritable Man Syndrome. She has also featured on the BBC Breakfast TV. There are a number of articles written by Wyer herself that have been published in numerous literary magazines all over the world. Author Wyer features as a signed novelist with the Delancey Press and Bookouture. Wyer considers herself lucky and blessed to have found the career path of writing and achieving numerous successes over the years. She wishes that fans will continue to like her work in the future as well and help her become an even more successful novelist. Wyer claims that she has always been influenced by the works of Ben Elton and Voltaire. She hopes to become big enough like them some day so that others could get influenced by her works also. As of now, author Wyer is busy with the development of her upcoming novels. She is expected to finish the writing part and release a few books very soon in the coming days. The DI Robyn Carter series written by author Carol Wyer is comprised of a total of 5 books, which were released between the years 2017 and 2018. Each of the books of this thriller series features the lead protagonist in the role of Detective Inspector Robyn Carter. In addition to Robyn Carter, author Wyer has described numerous other secondary characters, who play important roles in carrying the series forward. Throughout the course of the series, Robyn Carter is seen as chasing serial killers, murderers, and other deadly criminals in and around Midlands and bring them to justice. She also helps the families of the innocent victims in fighting against the injustice done to them. A very famous book of this series is entitled ‘Secrets of the Dead’. It was released by the Bookouture publication in the year 2017. This book consists of the main characters in the form of Robyn Carter, Linda Upton, and a serial killer known as The Leopard.

The story deals with brutal murders of 3 innocent victims and a common secret they shared with the killer. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that a young lady is discovered dead, drowned in her own bathtub. The investigators find a receipt in her hand that says all the debts have been paid. As soon as the case lands on the desk of Detective Robyn Carter, she realizes it is just the start of a deeply harrowing case. As Robyn studies the case of Linda Upton’s killings, she reads all the signs and signals of a brutal serial killer. Soon, a second dead body is found with a similar receipt, thereby confirming the worst fears of Robyn Carter. As the news becomes public through the local news reporters, people turn frenzy. This puts a lot of pressure on Robyn Carter to catch the killer and put an end to the case.

However, she finds it very difficult to find a common link between the two victims. And just when Robyn begins to lose all her hopes, she comes across an important clue that helps her unlock the mystery of this case. Robyn goes on to chase across the manicured lawns and plush carpets of the rich and elite, and inches close to the murderer with each step. But, before she could finally hunt down the culprit, a person close to her lands in danger of losing his life. Robyn wonders how to stop The Leopard from claiming more lives as the press continues to highlight his speed, brutality, and stealth. He appears to be the most twisted criminal of Robyn’s career, whom she becomes fully determined to catch once and for all.

Another interesting mystery novel of this series is called ‘The Missing Girls’. It was also published by Bookouture in 2017. The primary characters depicted by Wyer includes Carrie Miller, Robyn Carter, and a few others. Wyer has set the story around the discovery of a girl’s dead body, the disappearance of another girl, and the following investigation to find the killer and kidnapper. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Carrie Miller’s body is discovered from a storage unit in Midlands, arms folded, lips sealed, and plastic-wrapped. When the case comes to Robyn Carter to investigate, the victim’s body is already too decomposed. Due to this, Robyn is not able to get any clues or evidences related to the killer. She starts by identifying the woman who had rented that storage unit, but it turns out that no one knows anything about her. Even the hire van could not be traced.

As Robyn keeps getting dead ends at every turn, she learns about the discovery of another body. This time, the body is not decomposed, so Robyn Carter can identify the distinctive marks of the killer. When she matches the signs with those on the skeleton of the first victim, it is confirmed to her that she is looking for another serial killer. Shortly after, another girl disappears mysteriously, making Robyn realize that she does not have much time left and cannot let another innocent girl lose her life before she succeeds in hunting down the murderer.

   Will there be more Robyn carter books? I thoroughly enjoyed them so far and would like to know how things end for her.

     Vincent, the Robyn Carter series ended with a final free story, ENDGAME, which is at the end of The Chosen Ones eBook version only.
