Early and Personal Life

Caroline Bond arrived in 1964, with Scarborough serving as her birthplace. Lincoln College at Oxford is where she completed a degree based in English Literature. A lengthy pause from schooling followed that milestone.

Her husband, named Chris, and their three kids shared life with her while she worked in marketing research. Writing scripts for adults, as well as for children grew out of her many years spent studying TV drama. Fiction writing came next, once those scripts had opened that path.

A move back into education later brought her an MA based in Creative Writing received from Leeds Trinity. These days she lends her time as a volunteer trained for supporting victims. She also holds the role of Chair for Weekenders, which was a charity which provides social events and youth schemes for teenagers and children with disabilities.

Writing Career

Caroline Bond’s fiction career began with the release of her first novel, titled ‘The Second Child’, in 2018. A second book, ‘The Forgotten Sister’, followed one year later. She then added ‘the next to her list in 2020.

Her next works arrived in steady order, with ‘The Legacy’ coming out in 2021. And then ‘Thea and Denise’ appeared the following year. In 2023 she published another title, and she keeps writing, so more from her is still ahead.

One Split Second

Caroline Bond wrote the contemporary thriller, while Corvus served as the publisher for this title. The book reached readers on June 4, 2020.

A brick wall brings a car to a stop as it carries five teenagers back from a party. Families, friends, and the wider community all feel the heavy results of this event. While nobody gets through it without harm, a few carry deeper scars, and one member of the group loses their life. Questions about blame and the cost that follows sit with those who remain, in a story built around loyalty, love, forgiveness, and grief.

Someone picking up this book will find a story that pulls them in right away. The way it handles love, loyalty, grief, and forgiveness feels real and keeps pages turning. Readers who have not tried it yet have something worth their time waiting. It is a strong pick for anyone who likes heartfelt fiction.

The Second Child

Caroline Bond wrote the contemporary thriller and Corvus handled the publishing of this title. It came out on March 22, 2018.

A blood test one day throws the family into doubt, showing Phil is not Lauren’s biological dad. Before that, Sarah and Phil held the same hopes any mother and father would for James and Lauren. Their world changed earlier still, when the girl arrived with a small condition that would steer her path and theirs for good. The truth turns out to be more tangled than a plain affair, and it pushes how much they can love each other and the kids. In the end it asks what keeps a family whole and what pulls it apart.

This book gives readers a family story that feels real and keeps them thinking. The questions it raises about love and loyalty stay with a person after the last page. Anyone who has not picked it up yet will find plenty to enjoy. It is a warm and worthwhile read.
