Caroline Warfield is the pen name of an author that wishes she had walked through fascinating times in the shoes of one of her characters, however which one?

She has been a poet, an army brat, a nun, a bird watcher, a raiser of children, a Web and Internet services manager, a tech writer, an indexer, a genealogist, and, obviously, a romantic.

She has sailed through the English channel while it was still mined from WWII, searched Scotland for the location of a totally fictional castle (and actually found it), stood on the walls of Troy, climbed the steps to the Parthenon. She shopped in the Ginza, floated down the Thames from the Tower of Greenwich, lost herself in the Louvre, walked in the Black Forest, went on a night safari at the Singapore zoo, and explored the underground cistern of Istanbul. But by far the biggest adventure has been a lifelong marriage to a prince among men.

Caroline sits in front of her keyboard at this desk surrounded by windows, looks out at the trees and imagines. Her greatest joy comes from one of these imaginings coming to life on the page and in the imagination of her readers.

“Dangerous Works” is the first novel in the “Dangerous” series and was released in 2014. A little Greek is one thing; while the art of love is another. “The Renegade Wife” is the first novel in the “Children of Empire” series and was released in 2016. Two hearts betrayed by love. Meggy Blair, afraid and desperate, is going to do whatever it takes in order to keep her kids safe. She had hoped to find sanctuary from her abusive husband with her Ojibwa grandma, however cannot seem to find her. When her kids fall ill, she finds shelter in this remote cabin in Upper Canada. However when the owner returns unexpectedly, he is furious to discover squatters are disrupting his self-imposed solitude.

Rand Wheatly (a reclusive businessman) had good reason to put a whole ocean between himself and the family which deceived him. He only wants this intrusive woman gone, however it’s not long before Meggy and the kids begin breaking down the defensive walls that he’s built. However their fragile interlude is ruined when Meggy’s husband shows up to claim his kids, threatening to get Rand jailed.

The one way for Meggy to keep Rand safe is to leave. However once her husband takes her and their kids to England, Meggy learns that he is much worse than an abuser; what he has been involved in endangers all of their lives. Rand, in order to rescue the woman that has stolen his heart, has to follow her and do what he had swore he would never do: reconcile with his aristocratic family and uncover the truth behind all of the lies finally. However time is running out for them all.

“The Wayward Son” is the first novel in the “Ashmead Heirs” series and was released in 2021. She knew that Willowbrook would never be hers. How can she possibly make the heir love it like she does?

Sir Robert Benson’s life is back in London. He fled from Ashmead the same day that he learned the man he believed was his dad lied to him, and the girl he loved was out of his reach. Just a nameless plea from his sister (actually his half-sister) makes him return. He’ll not let a ludicrous bequest from the earl that sired him turn him into a mockery of a landed gentry. When the feisty little termagant with flashing eyes, and a musket, attempts to turn Rob off the land, which is his land, he is much too intrigued and amused to turn away. However the longer that he sticks around, the tighter the bonds which tie him to Ashmead become, strengthened by the powerful draw of the woman rooted on land he is determined to sell.

Lucy Whitaker’s life is Willowbrook, its tenants, its lands, its prosperity, however she always knew that it was not hers, knew that the missing heir would come along eventually. This powerful man with military bearing shows up looking like he wants to come in and count all the silver, she turns the man away, however her heart sinks. She cannot deny Rob Benson his property; she can just attempt to make him love the place like she does, for her peoples’ sake. One traitorous corner of her heart wishes that Rob would love it for her sake.

Her life is Ashmead, while his is London. How can they possibly forge something that’s lasting when they are torn in two different directions?

This novel is a wholesome, sweet Historical Romance novel where passion beyond the bedroom door has been left to the reader’s own imagination.
