Cassie Mae is a bestselling author of more than a dozen bestselling romance novels over the years. She has made a name for herself writing stories full of quirky characters and titles. She also loves to write about geeks, nerds, the fun, the awkward, the loud, the fluffy, the shy and the short.
Mae first published her debut novel “Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend” and has never looked back since. Most of her titles have been published with Penguin Random House, even though she has since founded her own CookieLynn Publishing Services. She currently works with Dystel, Goderich & Bourret LLC’s Sharon Pelletier.
In addition to her writing, she is very much a TV person that loves to binge watch series such as “The Flash” and “Once Upon A Time.” She has been known to quote ‘Harry Potter’ lines from memory.
She also likes to kiss her husband but only when he has shaved his beards. She is also obsessed with cheesecake and can often be found indulging.
Mae’s novel “How to Date a Nerd” is a compelling story of a young teen named Zoe. At the opening of the story, she has been leaving behind all her intelligent and nerdy ways. She has finally managed to work her way up the food chain to become the school’s most popular girl.
But she does not like the girl she has become and inside she is still the same old girl. She longs to just be herself but to be that she may have to become an outcast, which is something she dreads.
The only person who understands her dilemma is Zac who has known her for years. He has been her best friend for years and still hopes that Zoe will one day learn to love the person that she is deep down. But since Zoe cannot risk heartache and putting her reputation on the line, the odds are stacked against these two finding love.
“How to Date a Nerd” is a showcase of the best that young adult works have to offer. It comes with the message that finding love and remaining true to who you are should be something young adults need to aim for. It is a silly, funny, cute and sometimes outright touching story.
“How to Seduce a Band Geek” is a compelling story by one of the best authors in the young adult genre.
At the opening of the story, Sierra Livingstone has it bad for Levi Mason who is the best friend to her sister. Levi is known for carrying his drumsticks in his pocket, tapping his feet to imaginary tunes in his head and marching with the school’s band.
Sierra does not know what to do to get the sexy drummer to notice as nothing she has done so far has been effective.
When Sierra gets paired up with Brea who is Levi’s sister with whom she has to attend a mentorship program, they make a deal. Sierra will not tell anyone that Brea has quit the program while she will help her with information on how to snag Levi.
Things turn interesting when she learns that Levi and his family are now living in a trailer. He has stopped playing drums and he now drives a baby blue moped in place of his range rover.
She is not so sure how she can help him without feeling that she is violating his right to privacy. If only he was willing to let her in, she would have found some ways to seduce the man of her dreams.
Cassie Mae’s “How to Hook a Bookworm” is the story of Brea who believes that getting a kiss as a birthday present should be a big deal. But the kiss is from Adam Silver who she never saw as anything other than a friend. Long after they kissed, she can never seem to banish him from her thoughts.
She knows she needs to get him out of her mind since he is a senior while she is a junior, who will be left behind as he heads to college.
The distraction she needs comes from a hot new sophomore that seems to be very interested in Brea even though she can be very antisocial. She is highly stressed in school and at home but she welcomes the distraction.
But come the end of the semester, she sees several Fs on her report card and knows the only person she needs at the time is someone who can study with her. Adam the math whiz is the best candidate and hence she asks him to help her.
She hopes that the birthday kiss was one off and nothing would happen since she is now hitched to a new boyfriend. How hard could it be to ignore the fizzy feelings and butterflies he always seems to evoke in her?
