Cavan Scott is a historical mystery, children’s fiction, horror, and science fiction novelist from the United Kingdom. While he started out writing for the likes of “Vikings,” “Star Trek,” “Doctor Who,” “Warhammer 40,000,” and “Pacific Rim,” he now mainly writes for “Star Wars.” He got into comics from the time he got his first “Star Wars” figure from his grandmother. At that time, he did not know who Obi-Wan Kenobu was but it was not long before he thought he was the Galaxy’s coolest man. He then discovered Star Wars Weekly and by the time he got around to watching the “Empire Strikes Back” in the cinema he was hooked. He came to write material for “Star Wars” after he had made his name writing bestselling titles in comics such as “Star Trek” and novels in “Doctor Who.” He was asked to audition and what he wrote was so good that it would become “Star Wars Adventures in Wild Space.” Before he became an author of comics and novels, Cavan worked as a magazine editor. He now lives with his wife and daughters in Bristol in the United Kingdom. When he is not writing, he loves listening to David Bowie, watching scary movies, walking, audio drama and reading folklore.

Scott ‘s credits include short stories, novels, award winning audio plays, and comic books. Cavan Scott became one of the architects that created the “Star Wars: The High Republic,” the new multimedia publishing initiative by Lucasfilm. He has also written a lot about the galaxy in novels such as “Dooku: Jedi Lost” the Audie nominated work, “Star Wars Adventures,” “Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny,” and “Tales from Vader’s Castle.” In recent times, he became part of the creative team for a new children game show titles “Jedi Temple Challenge” that is part of Star Wars Kids. In 2016 “Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Spac”e made the list for the World Book Day as it simultaneously became number one in the book charts in the United Kingdom. In 2013, his first “Doctor Who” written novel Who-ology that he coauthored with Mark Wright became a UK Sunday Times bestselling title. Cavan Scott has also won other words including the Scribe Award in 2014 and another in 2020 for the middle grade novel “Attack of the Necron.”

Cavan Scott regularly appears in high profile conventions and literary festivals such as the London Super Comic Con, New York and San Diego Comic Cons, the Cheltenham Festival, Star Wars Celebration, Bath Children’s Literature Festival and Crimefest. Prior to becoming a full time author, he worked as editor for BBC and Future Publishing Magazines. In 2007, he became the founder of “Countryfile Magazine” the award winning magazine that was inspired by the very popular BBC One series by the same name. He has also authored several related works about Countryfile and been involved in the writing of Planet Dinosaur among other BBC programmes. Scott is very active in the writer community and is a member of the Dennis the Menace Fan Club, the Crime Writers Association and The Society of Authors. He currently makes his home in Bristol where he lives with his wife and two children.

Cavan Scott’s “Attack of the Necron” is set in the world of the Targian. The lead is Zelia Lor a woman that helps her mother in looking for ancient technology which may be found in the wind blown terrain that they call home. They are safe and happy but everything changes when the land comes under attack from the Necrons. Out of nowhere come a huge swarm of robotic ships above their homeland that proceed to rip the planet apart. Zelia is separated from her mother and now needs to get away from a world that is clearly doomed. The only hope she has of escaping is a scrambled transmission she got hold of that told her that she can find refuge at the Emperor’s Seat, a mysterious and unknown place. She launches off on an escape pod and crash lands on a freakishly cold landscape very far from what she had once called home. But she is not alone as she is soon joined by a motley crew of survivors. There is Fleapit the super intelligent ape, Mekki the Martian lad, and Talen the street tough juvenile. It is a story of bravery, danger and action in the face of an alien attack.

“Claws of the Genestealer” by Cavan Scott takes up from where the last volume left off. Our motley crew of survivors had come together following devastation on the land. They are now living on a distant frozen wasteland and have no hope of ever getting back their old life. Their food supplies are dwindling by the day their power is running out and Flea Pit is slowly losing the battle against the cold. Things could not be more desperate but Talen has taken the initiative to try to find more food. He has gone out into the bizarre looking mushroom forest to try to find anything they could eat. But then something goes wrong on the hunt and he finds himself down a deep chasm where he has dislocated his shoulder and needs to be rescued. Even though his friend locate and rescue him, they now have to deal with an insect like and deadly alien named Ambull. Bu then they notice that the alien is covered in vicious claw marks and is injured and they start wondering who had the power to injure such a dangerous monster.

Cavan Scott’s “Secrets of the Tau” sees the survivors living on a colony at the edge of space. It is a world in which everyone is for himself and there is a shortage of good people. They had arrived at the station after they were saved by Harleen Amity the Rogue Trader, who defeated the Genestealers. The space station is a rundown depressing and dirty place full of abhumans, aliens and humans. There is a lot of xenophobia and hatred in the place and Talen has a bad reaction to Tau and Beastmen. He treats them like despicable creatures rather than feeling and thinking beings. Zelia is disgusted by Talen’s behavior and this causes some unrest in the group. However this just shows how bad of an upbringing Talen had since his father once worked as an Imperial Guard. From a very young age it had been instilled in him to hate and distrust humans and if possible destroy them.
