The Power of Habit
The Power of Habit is a self-help book that shows how habits drive our lives. It starts with a story about a woman who transforms her life within two years. Within this period, she is promoted at work, quits smoking, and even runs a marathon. A look at her brain patterns also shows that she had changed within this time. Is it possible that a change in habit rewired her brain? A look at Procter & Gamble marketing also shows a slight change in advertising transformed a product termed a great flop into a success. How did this happen? Just a change of patterns, and the author takes the reader through the steps involved.
The power of habits delivers a simple yet powerful message. It comes with intriguing anecdotes that make the message even more palatable. Imagine an unknown CEO taking over a large company in America and focusing on changing employees’ patterns. After a short while, Alcoa becomes a top performer, thanks to this CEO. Most of us also know people who seemed to have transformed their lives overnight. A deep look into their lives will reveal that this transformation started when they changed their habits. Apart from sharing various success stories, the author also goes deep into scientific discoveries that show how habits are created and the ways they can be changed.
