About Charlotte Hubbard / Naomi King
The American author Charlotte Hubbard is widely regarded as one of the best currently working within her field to this very day. Largely writing romance novels, she has made a name for herself with her unique brand of fun and escapism, whilst also bringing in more serious messages underneath. Definitely a writer with something to say, she really manages to make the most of her material, really getting to the heart of what it is that she wants to write about and convey. Knowing exactly how to craft her voice, she has honed her style with expert precision over the years, allowing her to flourish at the forefront of her field. Bringing in her own feelings of faith as well, she speaks directly from her own heart and experience, much of which has been derived from her time spent in an Amish community.
All of this has led to her becoming a highly sought after novelist, which can be seen reflected within her sales worldwide. This also goes for her pseudonym too, as she writer under the pen-name of Naomi King too, producing many novels of a similar nature as well. Running the two names in tandem with one another, she writes consecutive series and novels under each of them, producing large quantities of books and stories.
Early and Personal Life
Growing up in America, Charlotte Hubbard would come to spend some time in the Amish community of Jamesport. This Old Order would come to define much of her work, giving her a lot of the material with which she would write about in the following years to come. Now currently living in Minnesota, she continues to write full-time to this very day, living with her husband, whilst also being an avid bee-keeper in her spare time too.
Writing Career
Starting out under her own name, Charlotte Hubbard would begin writing novels in the early nineties, with the title ‘Colorado Captive’ in 1991. This would soon pave the way for further releases, as she would slowly come to make a name for herself over the intervening years. Creating a number of series later on, she would come to write franchises, such as ‘Seasons of the Heart’ and ‘Promise Lodge’ as well. She would also go on to write under the name of Naomi King too, which she would create series’ such as ‘Home at Cedar Creek’ and ‘One Big Happy Family’, both of which would be set in the same universe. With a lot more to come, she doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon either, with her writing career growing continually day-by-day.
Gabriel’s Lady
This would mark the fourth entry into the ‘Angels of Mercy’ series, following on from the previous titles with another stand-alone romance. Initially brought out in 2008 on the 29th of April, it would originally come out on the Kindle, creating a fun and inventive romance novel. It would also be the last title in the series, with no more having come out to this day, with it consisting of four titles in total.
Set in the rural expanses of the great outdoors, the scene is set for an epic romance, combining both tension and heart, with an element of suspense. Bringing her characters to life, Hubbard creates a rich and textured narrative that definitely sparkles throughout, along with the passion. Allowing her characters to find each other within the turmoil of the story, there is also the idea of faith in the background too. This is something that Hubbard does well as an author, creating a subtle, yet intoxicating story, that really goes the extra mile in entertaining it readers.
Telling the story of Gabriel Getty, it sees him mourning for the loss of his wife and unborn child, with him being only twenty-seven years of age. It would also seem that his career as a lawyer is completely over too, with his dreams dashed in the process, leaving him to pick up the pieces. That’s when Solace Monroe turned up, as she was full of life, writing dime novels and training horses, as she would ride in a Wild West show. Suddenly her rival is murdered, leaving Gabriel Getty to step in and prove her innocence, as she is abruptly shunned from all of society. Will he be able to prove her innocence? Who will really committed the murder? What will soon become of Gabriel’s lady?
Emma Blooms At Last
First released in 2014, this was originally published on the 4th of November through the NAL publishing outlet. This would see it met with much eagerness and anticipation, with it following on from the previous title in the ‘One Big Happy Family’ series, this being the second one. It would also evolve the series, with it providing the next chapter in the many lives and loves of the characters that populate this rich and vibrant world.
Taking to the Amish community, a familiar setting for Charlotte Hubbard as an author, it is clear that she is definitely within her element here. A confident and powerful writer, she definitely knows how to craft the story, really making the most of the narrative, along with its many characters along the way. She also manages to build upon the story of what came, expanding the world, along with evolving and developing the many characters that inhabit it. With the family of the Brubakers growing rapidly, so too does the story, along with the Amish community that is Cedar Creek as a whole.
With Wyman and Amanda Brubaker having only just recently wed, the two of them have brought children from previous marriages, all of whom have bonded together. That’s when the grain elevator that Wyman had planned is abruptly halted, leaving them to look elsewhere for financial support in the meantime. This includes bringing the children in to help make money by working as well, much to the chagrin of Wyman, as he sees it as his sole responsibility to undertake the work. Then there’s James Graber along with Abby Lambright who are preparing for their own nuptials, with people coming from all over. How will they both fare when the big event comes? Can the Brubakers make enough money? What happens when Amanda’s sister Emma blooms at last?
