Cherise Sinclair is an American writer of erotic and paranormal romance best known for the Masters of the Shadowlands and the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series of novels. Cherise has made a name for herself in the BDSM world writing bestselling novels that are full of laugh-out-loud dialogue, sizzling sex, devastating dominants, and heart-wrenching romances. What makes her novels so great is her ability to combine the erotic components of BDSM into tales of romance so powerful and strong, that the reader has no choice but to rejoice when the woman and the leading man finally fall give in to their baser instincts. Cherise has won several awards over the years, including Goodreads BDSM group Best Author of the Year, Reviewers Choice Nomination from the Romantic Times and the National Leather Award. In addition to the many accolades, the novels have topped the bestseller lists on Amazon Kindle for weeks. The author currently lives with her husband and a fussy car in the Pacific Northwest, where she spends most of her day writing her popular BDSM novels.
Cherise first has always been a nerd who reads everything from the religious literature of Grace Livingstone Hills to Penthouses under her big brother’s mattress, from James Bond novels to Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlin, from Guideposts to Bertrice Small. She has never been focused on just doing one thing, and even as an author has been writing in several genres of fiction all at once. Her novels range from science fiction, contemporary romance, erotic romance to paranormal romance and anything else that takes her fancy. Nonetheless, she always loved the library, though her method of knowing that a novel was good was a very peculiar one. In her childhood, the best test of whether a novel was hot was if the librarian gave her a disapproving look over her glasses, and asked if her mother knew she was reading such literature. She does not know the exact time she got into writing, given she has been a storyteller that used to frighten her sister with her innovative ghost stories from a very early age. Nonetheless, she got her first start in publishing with a western historical, before she quit to focus on paranormal romance when the market for historical romance petered out.
Cherise Sinlair first got into BDSM after writing a series of paranormal romances for a few years. After she fell ill for a long time, she felt unsexy, unfeminine, and miserable, which drove her to write a new story as an exercise in personal therapy. Starting out in the usual stormy and dark night format, she found herself taking the protagonist in her novel towards finding refuge in an exclusive BDSM club, rather than the typical haunted house. She had never intended to write erotic romances since she was just using the novel to feel sexy and female again. As such, she was pleasantly surprised when a publisher said they would publish it. Tossing aside the paranormal romance she had been working on she threw all of her energies into “Club Shadowlands”, which was first published in 2009. Several novels later, the series is still going strong.
The Masters of the Shadowlands series of novels are about intriguing and utterly confident dominants. These men have a past, but what makes them so irresistible is that they are not defined by their pasts nor do they let it hold them back from having the heroines that life presents to them. They possess a certain tranquility and coolness about them that makes the women submit and fall for them for their incredible manliness. Sinclair’s portrayal of BDSM is an amazing take as it focuses on the consensual play between a man and woman, even as it has the darkest elements of erotica. The creativity in the novels is top notch from water guns to crazy toys, from electrical play, fire play to the more conventional rope play, Cherise Sinclair writes some of the most enthralling BDSM you could ever read. All the novels in the series come with something different including different characters, settings, and plot lines. She never repeats anything from the previous book and introduces new and exciting BDSM plays in every story.
“Club Shadowlands” the first novel in the Master of the Shadowlands series of novel introduces the lead protagonist Master Z and Jessica Randall. Coming back from a horrendous date, Jessica is stranded in a rainstorm and finds herself seeking refuge in a private residence. The residence turns out to be an exclusive BDSM club run by the enigmatic Master Z. She is given two choices, she can either sign a contract to be given access to the exclusive area of the club or wait out the thunderstorm in the cold lobby. Curiosity gets the better of her and she spends the night pleasured and tormented by none other than the master himself. As a professional woman, she leaves the club without giving Master Z her contacts even as she knows he definitely wants her back. But Master Z is so intrigued by the beautiful and curvy Jessica, that he decides to take matters into his own hands when she leaves without leaving her contact information. He sends her a gift and what follows is another beautiful night full of pleasures that ends with a stronger bond between the two. Will Jessica be willing to have nights of abandon or will Master Z commit to a more conventional and exclusive relationship?
“Dark Citadel”, the second novel of the Master of the Shadowland is a steamy read with hot and steamy sex scenes. The chief protagonist in the series is Kari a high school teacher dating Buck, a man who just like her is interested in BDSM. The novel takes on a faster pace when they decide to join a BDSM club, the Club Shadowland. Kari is initially a naïve woman in BDSM which makes things difficult between her and Buck. Master Z takes control of the situation by reassigning her to Master Dan who has a better understanding of the nuances of being a Dom. Master Dan is a widower that has vowed to never have a committed relationship since he lost his wife a few years past. He helps Kari bring out her submissive side, as she is one of the only women that have managed to stir the strong protective emotions that he has never felt in a long time. No matter how much they tried to resist each other, the intensity of the passion is simply too much, that in the end they give in to something that is more than just raw emotion or hot sex.
