Chris Fabry is a broadcaster and writer that has authored more than 65 adult and children books. “Dogwood,” his first adult novel, was a Christy Award winning title that would become a bestselling novel.

In addition to being an author, Chris hosts “Christ Fabry Live!” A nationally syndicated program aired from hosted on Moody Radio. He can also be found on the “Building Relationships” with Dr. Gary Chapman which runs once a week and on the “Love Worth Finding” podcast. He usually hosts the former with Andrea, his wife.

While he has become an accomplished author and broadcaster, he spent most of his career as a broadcaster before he started writing. He was a journalism major in college and interviewed some great writers during the 1980s. It was from these interviews that he got interested in authorship.

Over the years, he felt a desire to pen adult fiction and had written more than 60 books before penning his most successful novel in “Dogwood.” Fabry also writes on “Hey You Can Write,” a website where he provides encouragement and tips to aspiring writers.

He is married to Andrea, his wife with whom he has nine children. The family now makes their home in Tucson Arizona.

Fabry was always fascinated with writing ever since he was a child when his mother used to read to him. As a child, he was hooked onto the “Hardy Boys” stories and was soon writing all manner of skits, songs, stories and poems.

When he went to the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism, he decided to major in journalism as he believed it would make it easier to indulge in his love for writing. He decided to start writing in his thirties when he published “Spiritually Correct Bedtime Stories.”

Since then he has published more than five dozen novels and is thankful that he gets to write. Chris Fabry has made his name writing authentic stories that are infused with faith elements. His stories always include a redemptive message not found in many mainstream titles.

His most popular work so far has been “War Room,” an adult fiction title in addition to several children’s fiction works. His most popular children’s fiction work is “Left Behind” that he co authored with Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, who he met while he was attending the Moody Bible Institute in 1984.

Having been born in Virginia, most of Chris Fabry’s novels are set in his native state. He caught the writing bug early but he would not get the encouragement or vision he needed until much later. Once he published his debut, the floodgates opened and he would win several awards for his works over the years.
As a five time winner of the Christy Award, he was inducted into the Christian fiction Christy Award Hall of Fame. He has also adapted “Overcomer,” “War Room” and “The Song,” into novels, even though they were initially written as screenplays.

Chris Fabry’s novel “War Room” is the story of Elizabeth and Tony Jordan who seemingly have it all. They are living in their dream house, have a beautiful daughter and great jobs. But appearances are oftentimes deceiving as the strain of a failing marriage is threatening everything they have.

Tony has been flirting with temptation, even as he basks in professional success while Elizabeth is increasingly bitter and resigned. But when Elizabeth meets an older and wiser client in Miss Clara, their lives are changed forever. She challenges her to stop fighting her husband and instead fight for her family.
It is a compelling drama full of heart and humor that does an exploration of the power of prayer over friendships, amarriages, careers and parenting among other aspects of our lives.

What is really great about this work is that even though it is a Christina work, it is not pushy or preachy. One can also relate to each character and the many challenges they are facing.

“June Bug” by Chris Fabry is a brilliant story that has since been adopted into a Lifetime original movie. The lead in the story is June, a woman who believed everything her father always told her for the longest time, until she walked into the mall and saw her picture on a little poster.

For years, they have been traveling the back roads of the US in a beat up RV and spent their nights in Wal-Mart parking lots. She is shocked to see herself on the pictures of missing children in a poster held by a greeter at the front of the store.

The discovery sends her on a quest for discovery, trying to find the father that her mother has never talked about. However, things get very interesting when her father’s past catches up to them.

They are forced to head to West Virginia, to the small town of Dogwood on a winding path that promises to change their lives in ways they never imagined. Tied into Les Miserables, it has flashbacks that beautifully adds to both character development and the story.

Fabry also makes good use of language as some parts of the narration sound like movie plots that you can just hear reading the story.

Chris Fabry’s novel “Almost Heaven” is a Christy and ECPA Christian Book Award winning novelist. The lead is a hillbilly genius named Billy Allman who people say was given too much brain and a talent for playing the mandolin, even though he severely lacks in social skills.

The people who say these things about him are right as he would give away his shirt and walk around naked if he saw someone without clothes. Billy longs to live his life as a sacrifice to God, a beautiful and lyrical bluegrass song played with a finely tuned heart.

He had spent much of his life collecting spare parts that he now makes use of to construct a home made radio station. While most people in town mock his efforts, what they do not know is that he has a brutal secret that prevents him from achieving his purpose and becoming a man of significance.
Things tend to always go wrong regardless of what he does. But while his life seems like it will never amount to much, his song reaches far beyond the hollers and hills he calls home.

The silver lining is the man Malachi who looks over him as an angel and even though he never liked the assignment, he follows Billy and soon realizes there is more to him than catches the eye.
