Christi Barth is USA Today and New York Times bestselling author of romance and contemporary novels. Christi earned her Master’s degree in vocal performance and embarked on a career on the stage. The love of romance then drew her closer to wedding planning and ultimately succumbed to her passion for writing novels and now an award-winning contemporary romance author of Aisle Bound and Naked Men series. Christi Barth draws her inspirations for writing her books from either pure imaginations or real life experiences. For example, Bad Boys Gone Good is a 100% Christi’s pure imagination while Aisle Bound Series draws in some real-life experiences with the names of the characters changed to protect those happily married.

In Bad Boys Gone Good, the main character is Rafe Maguire, a man who lives and dies for his family especially for his two brothers. He has given up his entire life just to keep them safe. Once used to be a Chicago mob fixer, power, money, and women all at his disposal. However, the man changes career and becomes an auto mechanic in a small beach town trying to lay low. Then there is Doctor Mollie Vickers who loves her small town- she does not want to date anyone from the small town who knows her too well. So she is amazed when she meets the sexy, handsome man on the road, especially one who does not want a relationship either.

Christi Barth has written for novel series, debuting in the publishing realm in 2009 when her standalone novel Carolina Heat was published. Books series she has authored include Naked Men, Aisle Bound, Bad Boys Gone Good, Bad Decisions and Shore Secrets.

Planning for Love

Planning for Love is the debut novel in Aisle Bound series by Christi Barth. The novel introduces Ivy Rhodes, a woman in her late twenty’s. She is a wedding planner and also a co-owner of a wedding consulting firm known as Chicago Aisle Bound with her excellent friend Daphne Lovell. Ivy Rhodes is a hopeless romantic and believes in a happily ever after long lasting love life since her parents have been married for over four decades.

Then there is Ben Westcott, a cynic who does not believe in marriages lasting forever or just past the “I Do’s ceremonies. His entire family is full of broken hearts, broken marriages and unhappy ever after. He firmly believes that his great grand folks have cursed his family. However, surprisingly enough, Ben is a cameraman for a local wedding reality television show.

We meet Ivy having fallen on the steps during preparation for an upcoming wedding. However little did she know that her rescuer would later become the man of her dreams, the very sexy and handsome Bennett Westcott.

Ivy is the perfect heroine for this type of contemporary romance who also makes an excellent wedding planner, as she is all about love and romance. She was brought up in a family full of happiness and good marriages, and she is a firm believer in marriages. When she first meets Bennett, she is shocked that he works for the cheapjack reality television show that makes it a business to show marriage fails. However, by the time the wedding is complete, both Ivy and Bennett find themselves strongly attracted to each other. Their chemistry super clicks with one another immediately, and they end up spending time in a hotel room having intense sex. The next morning, Ivy takes her man on a tour across Chicago, and the fun almost comes to a standstill when she discusses her believes in love and marriage. Bennett, a strong believer of one night stands immediately walks away and flies back home. Ivy is heartbroken when she discovers that the man she has crushed on so hard is against any form of a love relationship, and though hurting she pushes herself back to work to forget him.

However, a couple of months later, Bennett makes a comeback, but this time as a producer of a different but good wedding reality show. Ivy had previously agreed to participate in this wedding show to meet her financial needs but did not know that the man she had fallen for a couple of months was part of it. When they meet, they agree to work together professionally and with no strings attached. However, as Ivy begins to realize Bennett fear for any form of relationship, she sets on a mission to make Bennett open himself for love. Bennett wants to bed Ivy, but Ivy plans on making him fall in love with her by holding back the one thing that he only wants… sex.

Christi Barth has created interesting main characters with some very likable secondary cast.

A Fine Romance

A Fine Romance is book two in Aisle Bound Series by Christi Barth. It introduces the reader to Sam Lyons, an outstanding baker, but it is not his dream. He dreams of baking chocolate masterpieces, but for now, he is helping his mother adjust to being a widow and also run the family business. He often has to let other opportunities slide off so that he can help his fragile mother. While he feels blames himself for not picking up Ivy’s friend, what he does not expect is to be accosted for his negligence.

So starts the love and hate relationship between Sam and Mira. The two do not have an easy time, but their burning passion for one another is intense and out of balance. The two, Sam and Mira are characters in a kind of a mess, they have a lot in their life, and sometimes this weight in their personal lives tends to get in their way. Mira is from a wealthy family, and she does not have the ideal track record with her business. On the other hand, Sam is way too dedicated, determined to fulfill his father dying wish to take care of his mother. He has got plans for his life as well, but he paused them until his sister returns from her studies in Europe.

When their friend Ivy unites them, the two begin to know each other, and there is no denying that they are genuinely attracted to each other. Again in the second book, Christi Barth has woven some great secondary characters in addition to the main characters, Sam and Mira.
