Christine Feehan has authored a number of adult books and series that largely reside within the realm of the paranormal romance genre with over 40 novels currently to her name now.

Early and Personal Life

Born in California amongst three brothers and ten sisters, she begun her publishing career in 1999. Even at school though she would continually find herself in trouble due to her love of writing as she has always pursued it.

This is something that her sisters also came to discover as she would present them all with her work getting them to read and assess everything she wrote. She continues this trend with her daughters now who help her edit all her novels. Living with her husband, Richard Feehan, they have 11 children between them both. Her novels have been published in a number of different languages, as well as multiple formats including eBooks, hardcovers and even comics.

In 2007 she released the Manga ‘Dark Hunger’ which made it to number 11 on the Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller’s List. She is also a New York Times bestseller with everyone of her series (being four in total) reaching the number one spot.

Writing Career

Beginning in 1999 with her debut novel ‘Dark Prince’, Christine Feehan received 3 of 9 Paranormal Excellence awards going for Romantic Literature. From then on she’s seen a lot of success within her field as she’s been published by Pocket Books, Leisure Books and now including Berkley/Jove who she continues to work and write for.

During this time she has also gained seven Pearl Awards as well. Adding to all this acclaim she’s also found her way onto a number of bestseller lists too including The New York Times, Bookscan, Amazon, USA Today, B. Daltons, Walmart, Washington Post, Barnes and Nobles, Borders, Waldenbooks, Rhapsody Book Club and Ingrams.

Branching over to comic books she’s also created a Manga called ‘Dark Hunger’ in 2007. Over the years she has created a number of much beloved sagas including ‘The Carpathian Novels’, which started in 1999 with ‘Dark Prince’. In 2003 she turned to the fictional setting of Sea Haven where she’d set the Drake Sisters Novels followed by the Sisters of the Heart and Sea Haven Novels, which she started in 2010.

Both The Ghostwalkers Novels and the Leopard People Novels she brought out in 2003. This also includes around six other individual works scattered throughout the years. Christine Feehan also finds the time to attend conventions and various book signings, along with TV interviews such as The Montel Williams Show.

Her books have also made fairly impressive movie style trailers which play in cinemas across the country. She continues writing to this day and promises to continue many of her series into the foreseeable future.

Dark Prince

Wrote in 1999 this is the first novel written by Christine Feehan and it marks the beginning of the Carpathian Novels. In it we see Raven Whitney, a telepathic who hunts serial killers. She uses her skills to chase after the most dangerous and hardened of criminals, but lately it’s begun to take its toll so she decides it might be time for a vacation.

Looking to build herself back up she travels far away to relax and take her mind off things. This tranquility is quickly disturbed though when Carpathian Prince, Mikhail Dubrinksy, enters her life. Being the leader of an ancient race which rises up during the nighttime, he is both wise and powerful. He’s upset though as he feels something’s missing in his life, that is until he meets Raven.

It’s then that they embark on a love affair fraught with peril as he attempts to bring her into his darkened world. The question remains though whether it will last or not. This book marked the beginning of the Carpathian Novels, a series revolving around an ancient and powerful race. Living for many thousands of years, they can shape-shift and extend their life-spans.

To live they must consume human blood, but not enough to kill in the same way a vampire would. When male Carpathians are deprived of females though they lose all emotion as they begin to see the world in black and white, before fully turning into a vampire in the more traditional sense.

The problem is that less and less Carpathian women have been born recently and they’re facing extinction as a race. It is now a race against time to save their souls and save their species by finding women to make them whole again.

Shadow Game

With this book came the beginning of the Ghostwalker Novels which Christine Feehan wrote in 2003. Featuring a classified experiment gone wrong, it tells the story of the brilliant scientist Peter Whitney and his equally gifted and beautiful daughter Lily.

In the hope of creating psychic abilities for military usage by an elite squadron, unexplained fatal accidents start occurring as the men are slowly getting killed off. Enter Captain Ryland Miller who fears for his life. Once Whitney is killed, Ryland turns to Lily for help, as it turns out she also possesses innate psychic abilities.

They then embark on a relationship that turns to romance, which is soon threatened by a deadly force that wishes its secret to remain hidden. It is up to Lily to delve into her father’s past and discover what is really going on. This was the novel that Christine Feehan used to set-up the series of Ghostwalker Novels.

The Ghostwalkers of the title are the military personnel gifted by Whitney’s fateful experiment, as they’re able to cross enemy lines undetected and do their mission. Later on with the novel ‘Ruthless Game’ it takes a turn into espionage and military happenings, as it charts the relationship of Kane and Rose taking place amidst all this, followed by further obstacles occurring later on down the road.

Feehan continues to write these novels and isn’t planning to stop any time soon as further books have already been scheduled. Set within the realms of action and thriller, they employ elements of the paranormal and romance. Telling the stories of strong men and women, they dive into a world of intrigue and mystery which have been entertaining readers for many years now and should continue to do so.

I have read every series except the Dark, multiple times and never get tired of “people” not characters in each book. The women are all amazing. I leave multiple stars on every library review. Now here, too.

    Good afternoon,

I have read most of your books and absolutely love them! They helped me through some very hard times, including a messy divorce. When life became to much I would curl up on the sofa and loose myself in one of your books for a couple hours. It really helped then and still does help when I get overwhelmed being a single mom.

Thank you for writing these awesome books!

    Stay safe and healthy!

I’ve written before and you where very helpful answering my questions. The first time was 2/25/2017. the last time was 2/24/2017. A point I was going to being out. My wife concerts herself a witch. In the drake Sisters series Book #3, page #262. The Russius Prakenski put a curse of Black Magic on the sisters. they used the herbs Ague Root, Mallow, Vervain. That was suppost to remove the curse. My wife says that combination would be used to heal a sore. I don’t know how you can do all your writing and due all that you do outside hiking, family, dogs, grandchildren etc.
