Christopher Artinian

Christopher Artinian, born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire, left England and moved to the north-west of Scotland in the Outer Hebrides in 2004. His goal was to escape the hectic live in a big city and gain a better quality of life. He still lives there with his wife and dogs.

Mr. Artinian’s debut novel, Safe Haven: Rise of the RAMS, was his first offering in the series of post-apocalyptic zombies. In October 2017 he won the Zombie Book of the Month Award, a highly prestigious award. In December of that year he was given the “Best New Author” award by the Reanimated Writers group for that first book.

A later novel, Safe Haven, was voted the “Best Series” award in the popular GMZ poll. The series, End of Everything: Book 1 also won the Zombie Book of the Month title in May 2019. The End of Everything, was a best-seller and an award winning entry in the zombie series.

The Safe Haven series started with Rise Of the RAMS. The planet Earth is ravaged by a monstrous virus. Those who succumb to the infection return as barbaric monsters who’s aim is to savage the those who have not been infected. The RAMS (reanimated corpses) are winning.

The islands of the United Kingdom and Ireland have been the last in the entire world to survive. Their self-imposed isolation is collapsing and everyone is at risk. It’s every man for himself.

Mike and Emma Fletcher are trying to survive. Siblings living in Leeds, their city is overrun by the dead. Zombies are roaming the streets and Mike and Emma have to flee and keep their family safe. They and their younger siblings set off for far north-west Scotland, hoping to find their last remaining relative.

On their travels they meet other survivors. It’s difficult to know who they can trust. Mike and Emma are just young adults in their early twenties. First their mother had died from cancer, then after the horrific death of their stepfather to the virus, they left with their half-siblings, sister Sammy and brother Jake.

For the sake of their younger sister and brother, they have to travel. Their journey is going to be filled with danger and too many unknowns. If they don’t travel far north, they will certainly die. They need to travel to find a safe haven.

In Mr. Artinian’s Safe Haven: Realm of the Raiders, the zombie virus has conquered the United Kingdom and Ireland. Cities are consumed by the undead and if you are still alive you will die there.

The Fletcher family, Emma, Mike, Sammy, and Jake, thought the island village of Candleton would be their safe haven. It wasn’t to be. The peace they thought they had found was brief and so they are back in a fight for their lives.

The four Fletchers can’t keep running. Tyranny reign’s and a war between the survivors and the RAMs. The survivors realize it’s time to take a stand. And they need a hero, the kind that can meet this horror head on.

Interspersed between the eight Safe Haven novels, Mr. Artinian has written four novellas. Before Safe Haven: A Zombie Novella series has the stories of four individuals integral to the whole Safe Haven series. We get a closer look at the characters and their thoughts, worries, and challenges.

Lucy, Alex, Mike, and Jules are each embroiled in the act of trying to survive the zombies. They have friends they are trying to save as well. The odds are terrible. The horrific virus is relentless and seemingly impossible to escape from. The effort of trying to survive is so exhausting. Sometimes it easier to think about just letting it take you.

Lucy Blair, an American doctor, is trying to help patients. Delivering babies, broken bones, and occasionally the normal illness like maybe, hopefully, just a simple cold.

Struggling against the virus that is killing her patients, friends, and neighbors is wearing her down. She works without adequate medical supplies, poor sanitary conditions, and very poor lighting, air, and treatment area. She’s dedicated but so disheartened. She knows she working a losing battle but her heart won’t allow her to give up.

Alex Munro, lives in the United Kingdom, and his city is in lockdown. The zombie outbreak seems to be winning. The government is claiming victories but the gunshots heard of the undead killing more victims to consume, demonstrates their domination of the streets of Leeds.

Alex knows family is everything. He also knows survival is everything. Leeds needs a hero. Heroes are made in the midst of trial. In the midst of war. In the midst of the effort to survive. Leeds needs Alex now. Today.

Mike knows doing the right thing can be a challenge. He has lived in a hellhole surrounded and threatened by killers, thieves, and sadists. Corruption and constant danger were the risks he faced. Mike didn’t take the easy way. He choose the right way.

Now the threats are different. Mike Fletcher feels very responsible for his siblings. They are trapped in a new Hell. The virus has infected billions all over the world, turning its victims to vicious zombies. The city is in lockdown, lawlessness is the rule, and the government won’t admit it’s losing the battle for control. Mike has to fight for his family, their health, and survival.

Jules is the pretty girl next door. She likes to work hard and she likes to party hard too. The future is hers- she’s smart, good-looking, and young- she just has to grab it. Or at least it was hers. The zombie plague is sweeping the planet, leaving rag-tag groups of survivors hiding in infested cities.

For some weird reason, everyone keeps looking to her for advice. She’s no expert. She doesn’t want the responsibility. Every day is a new fight for survival. A new nightmare. More danger. Finding a safe haven is a dream.

Mr. Artinian has written five distinct zombie series to date. His stories have also appeared in published collections and anthologies.
