Christopher Geoffrey McPherson is an American author of fiction. He has been a professional writer and journalist for over thirty years. In that time, he has covered many subjects and along the way, interviewed many people from celebrities to everyday people. His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, radio, and even television on occasion. He has also written commercials for radio and advertising.

McPherson uses his years of experience in the field of journalism and uses it in some way in each and every one of his novels. While he enjoys writing fiction, every book that he writes is different. You may be reading a romantic novel set in the twenties in Paris or a science fiction novel where you’re visiting a version of San Francisco after it was totally destroyed thanks to an earthquake.

He is the author of the James Murray Mysteries, a series of fictional novels that are set in L.A. in the thirties. The debut novel in the series is titled Murder at Eastern Columbia and it was released in 2014. That was followed by the exciting sequel, Sabotage at RKO Studio. There would be several more books released.

Murder at Eastern Columbia is the debut novel in Christopher Geoffrey McPherson’s series. The main character in this novel is James Murray, and he is a man that has a dream. Even though he is still relatively young, James already knows that he wants to be a writer. That way he can be just like his writing hero.

Even though James has big dreams, the times are tough in the nation. The Depression is in full swing, and he is the only person in his family that has a job. It’s a good job as a clerk in a downtown department store in Los Angeles, located on Eastern Columbia and Broadway.

James is working one day when he hears a scream. He runs out to find the source of it and then is shocked to find Elizabeth Flowers dead. She was his best friend and now she is shot dead in a pool of her own blood right there in the furniture department. This is the craziest and most devastating thing that’s ever happened to him, and it all gets weirder when he discovers a note in her purse.

The note instructs her to be in front of the Orpheum Theater and has a threatening town. With the time drawing near, James rushes to try and keep the date to find out who wanted to meet her there or who wanted her to be there. He’s going to try and solve this murder if he can, thanks to the help of his friend and movie star Charles Rogers (known as Buddy).

This kicks off a crazy ride through Los Angeles as the two try to track down clues that could tell them who killed Elizabeth. This novel is an exciting read with a story that is going to grab you right from the beginning. Featuring two murders and two different stories of individuals trying to solve them in Los Angeles in the thirties, they’ve got one chance to try and crack this thing open for good.

Can James or his alter ego solve a murder, or will they run into some scrapes? Can they find people who know anything about the murders, or will they fail to find out just exactly who it was that wanted this girl to die? This guy is on a quest that is going to have him running into a cast of characters that could only come from L.A.

To find out, you are going to have to read this exciting and fast-paced murder mystery that takes the reader along for a cinematic-style ride that will have you wondering who did it right until the very end. Full of twists and turns, check out ‘Murder’ and see what McPherson’s debut novel is all about!

Sabotage at RKO Studio is the engaging second novel in the Murray series. In this acclaimed series by Christopher Geoffrey McPherson, we meet the main character of James Murray. This young man wants to be a writer just like Dashiell Hammett, but might just have to settle for earning a check at the downtown department store.

He’s recovering from the murder of his best friend and writes while at work. The novel ends up being a huge success. It does so well that it has landed him a job at a big Hollywood studio as a junior screenwriter. But while he’s there, the studio is having a run of bad luck that’s unprecedented. Fires are happening, accidents are occurring, costumes are damaged, miniatures are stolen– and then the biggest problem of all, the theft of a scene from King Kong, the latest big picture that will be arriving to theaters in months.

Hoping to avoid attention by delaying calling the police, the production head wants James instead to figure out what’s going on. He’s going to have to work with the young writer if he doesn’t want to have to resort to calling the authorities. It’s up to James and the alter ego he has hidden inside to try and help by finding out who it is that is causing these accidents.

The alter ego and James need to get down and dirty and follow up every clue, no matter how small, if they are going to crack this case wide open. What’s causing the accidents– or who? Through painstaking interviews and detective work, they’re going to have to work towards solving this case if they’re going to help the studio.

Along the way, he meets many people that tend to be either helpful or suspects. The secretary, a pretty blonde who is surely keeping secrets, and the wealthy Mexican girl mourning her brother, and the movie star who left the business to marry rich– any of them could have done it.

Sabotage is full of twist and turns that will have your mind racing! As the plot leads up to a big movie premiere, can Murray solve the cases and become a writer after all is said and done? Read this book to find out!
