Cindy Kirk is a published author of various novels and series. She has lived in Nebraska all her life and began her journey into writing after taking a creative writing class at a community college in her area. However, she was truly interested in writing and everything about it even earlier.

Cindy Kirk returned to writing after her daughter went to college with a specific interest in writing book-length fiction. She didn’t want to dabble in poetry or short stories but instead jumped instantly into what she loved reading. She is married and lives on land with her two cats and her husband, who was her high school sweetheart.

When it came to subjects, Cindy wanted to write the type of novel that she loved reading and topics that she was interested in, mainly romance. She loved reading romance novels and the idea of happily ever after and the all-consuming power of love, considering herself an incurable romantic and has said that she enjoys writing, growing characters, and giving them the happily ever after ending.

Cindy Kirk is the author of many novels and multiple series. Her earliest novels were published in 2007 and include Romancing the Nanny and When She Was Bad. She published another book in 2008 titled One Night Stand. Her first series was called Meet Me In Montana. It contains three romance themed books centered around the great state of Montana (or big sky country, as it is known). They include the exciting first book Claiming the Rancher’s Heart, Your Ranch or Mine?, and Merry Christmas, Cowboy!, all published in 2009.

Kirk has a great deal more books involved in her second series, Rx for Love. The Doctor’s Baby is the intriguing title of the first book in the series. There is a total of fifteen books in the series, a personal best for Cindy Kirk. The main character of this series is July Greer, an everyday woman who had an uncharacteristic one night stand with a sexy man who may or may not be the father of her baby.

July does not carry over to the next book, which features Lexi Brennan as the main character instead. She is a social worker that falls in love with a man who has amnesia unexpectedly. The last book of this series debuted in 2015 and is called The Doctor’s Runaway Fiancee.

Kirk has also written a four part series set in the town of Good Hope, a book called Baby on his Doorstep, and has collaborated with a number of authors on different books and series.

Her characters are usually everyday people who have a longing for love and whose lives occasionally seem to have a flair for the dramatic. Sometimes her characters are brought together by circumstance, other times by random chance. Either way, her books involve plucky characters who sometimes have hearts that long for other hearts– as can happen from time to time!

The Doctor’s Baby

In this first novel of the Rx for Love series by Cindy Kirk, plenty is happening already for July Greer, a photographer. She’s in labor having her baby at the moment, and who should be there treating her but the doctor who was her one-night stand? It may have been her first and only time having a one night stand, but this obstetrician was definitely the one she had enjoyed it with.

Now the attractive Doctor David Wahl is right there in the room with her while she is in labor. Thinking they would never see each other again, she had discreetly moved on and expected nothing more, and had assumed that he had done the same. How is she supposed to tell him that the baby he is delivering might be his son? The timing is certainly making everything quite difficult. David successfully delivers July’s baby and in the meantime, does some math. He figures that in the nine months that it’s been since they’ve seen each other, the baby could definitely be his. In fact, he’s almost positive.

July thinks that the baby is David’s too, but she portrays it to David that she is not even certain if the baby is his– actually, she portrays it as a downright truth and tells him that the baby is not his. But David certainly recognizes July from that night together, and he has been dreaming of her and longing for her ever since they met. It’s been nine months, and seeing her is making him think of all of these things that he wants to pursue together as a family. Because he is pretty certain that baby is his.

Making everything more complicated and spurring the reason for the lie is that July thinks David is married. What she doesn’t know is that his wife had passed away a year before their meeting and he is, in fact, a widower. Then when she finds out the truth that he is a widower, July has to grapple with telling David whether he is Adam’s father or not.

Will July be able to overcome her abusive past to get the courage to speak up and contact David to tell him he is the father? July doesn’t know if he will ever understand or forgive her for lying to him about his true status as the biological father. What she doesn’t know is that David has already figured it out and desperately wants to make a family with Adam and July forever. Maybe she will get her happily ever after, after all.

In Love with John Doe

This second book in the series Rx for Love is called In Love with John Doe. Lexi Brennan is a social worker who is assigned to a patient who has amnesia about who he is. Although he certainly has a lot that has changed for him, for Lexi, she assumes that the intelligence, incredible sex appeal, and charm of this John Doe is something that’s been present for quite some time.

Lexi’s John Doe has no identification and no memory thanks to the avalanche. With no certainty about where to go, the handsome stranger’s only choice is to stay in town until he figures it all out and gets better. For Lexi, she’s now thinking that her thoughts about remaining single might not have been so practical after all.

But Nick Delacorte is in there somewhere, and whoever he is, this former attorney is intrigued by Lexi’s intelligence and her warmth. With no memory of his prior life, he worries that his memory might bring back memories of another that he may have been faithful to. But with his heart quickly falling for Lexi and her daughter, will it make a difference?
