Early and Personal Life:
Born in Manchester in the United Kingdom, Claire C. Riley would grow up nurturing a passion for the written word from a young. This would gradually develop through the years, as she begun to make a name for herself as a writer later on in life. Always keenly interested in genre fiction and what she could do with it, she managed to give it a unique spin of her own.

In time this would then see her go on to establish her own unique brand as a novelist with something different and interesting to say. With an eclectic taste in books herself, she would draw from a wide range of influences, allowing her to create a highly inspired voice all of her own. Still writing to this very day, she’s gone on to become a bestselling author, living with her husband and their three daughters.

Writing Career:
The first book that Claire C. Riley would release was ‘Limerence’ back in 2013, and this was also the opening to the ‘Obsession’ series. Setting up a new franchise, it would later be followed up in 2014 with the sequel ‘Limerence 2’, and both were paranormal romance novels. This would be a genre that Riley would continually return to throughout the years, bringing out a number of other series.

With series such ‘Dead Saga’, ‘Thicker Than Blood’, ‘Devil’s Highwayman’, and ‘Armageddon’ to name just a few, she’d quickly raise her profile. There would also be audiobooks of her work, as she’d jump around a variety of different genres over the course of her career. She would also become an international and USA Today bestselling author, securing her status as a household name for years to come.

Odium VI
Initially published on the Kindle back in 2018 on the 29th of October, this would be the sixth instalment in ‘The Dead Saga’ series. Following on from the previous books, it also paves the way for the next, building upon the world that came before. It also further establishes the arcs of characters, many of them no being fairly familiar, along with providing plenty of surprises.

This was a thrilling as ever instalment in the series, really delivering when it comes to action, suspense and drama. Not letting up at any single point, Riley manages to keep the reader constantly hooked throughout at every beat of the story. The characters are also extremely well developed, with fully realized motivations and personalities, making it feel wholly real and authentic.

Waging a complete war on evil, Nina is fighting a lot more than just her own demons this time round, as it’s humans that are her enemy now. Looking to completely eradicate all of these deadly savages from the face of the earth, she must bring together age old enemies in the face of this threat. Nina will race towards the enemy and danger head-first if needs be, but she has a choice to make between surviving and saving the one she loves. What will she choose amidst the chaos? Can she save the future of Earth? How will they cope with the onslaught of odium?

Fighter
Originally brought out in 2019 on the 16th of July, this was part of spin-off series, with the ‘Ride or Die’ franchise being the original one. The fourth title in the ‘Devil’s Highwaymen Nomads’ collection, this would carry on from the last with another stand-alone romance. Focusing on another relationship in the motorcycle club, it would feature its own passionate story set around two characters.

It’s definitely a tough and gritty story, and one that’s filled with passion and emotion, as it’s easy for the reader to lose themselves in its world. This is something that Riley is an expert at, as she handles the action with precision, never wasting a single word. Each of the characters are very well drawn too, as they definitely come alive, much like many of her other novels, as this is no exception.
Caring about nothing but his motorcycle club, the Devil’s Highwaymen, Fighter is a loyal soldier who’s been tasked with kidnapping a woman from a rival club. Taking Penny he thinks nothing can get to him, but the two of them find themselves in a battle of wills, which soon gives way to passion. Facing off against one another, he initially aims to wreak havoc on the opposing club, but soon emotions get the better of him. How will they both cope with all of this? Can they overcome their past? What will truly become of Fighter?
