Codi Gary is an American author of contemporary romance novels that hails from Northern California. In 2011, she would move to Idaho and during the cold, bitter winter read all the books on her shelf while playing a lot of peek-a-boo with her kids. But one day, after her husband had left for work and her children were asleep, she sat down to write a list of goals to achieve before she was thirty. One was to lose weight, and two was to complete at least one of her novels. By August of 2012, she had finished writing “The End” her very first novel set in the rural town of Rock Canyon Idaho. She would get her big break in her professional writing career when she replied to a call for Valentine’s Day novellas from Avon Books. Entering the competition, her story was accepted and she signed with the publisher – She has been publishing ever since. With hundreds of thousands of her copies sold, Gary is a member RWA Honor Roll.

She has always loved romantic stories ever since she started reading along to Disney stories on her little stereo. But it was not until she read her first romance a master and alien abduction slave book aged eleven, that she became hooked to the genre. She was convinced that she was destined to be the author that would bring the many magical stories she heard and read into life. From that time, she became so engrossed in books that she would sometimes read one book every day. However, she would be sidetracked as she got older, got into school, and started practicing as a Veterinary Technician. It was not until she moved to Idaho and saw the call for romance novellas by Avon that she finally got back into writing.

Codi now gets to live her dream life in her fantasy world where everything is fantastic even when the chips are down. She finds escape from the daily stresses of life through family, good friends, and lots of humor. When she is not writing, she loves to read novels from nearly every genre. She reads Indie, HEA, Historical, Young Adult Fiction, and anything that takes her fancy. Most of her afternoons are spent either knitting a scarf, reading one of her favorite authors, catching up on her TV shows, taking a nap or watching a movie with her kids. An animal lover ever since she was a three-year old when she had a tuxedo Manx, and has a special fondness for her ornery Calico cat. Nonetheless, while she prefers cats, she adores Bella a spoiled family pug who has become something of her shadow. She also is a great believer in animal rescue and watches adorable animal videos whenever she can. Her favorite pets and animals frequently make cameos in her novels and novellas.

She has always been in love with small town romance ever since she read “The Trouble with Valentine’s” by Rachel Gibson. It was while she was contemplating moving to Idaho or Montana that she first got the idea for the Rock Canyon series of novels. Driving up to visit some friends in Idaho the scenery and small town of Filer got her thinking that it would make the setting for a good story. As far as her characters are concerned, she takes bits and pieces of her life and personality to make them. The reason for this is that she asserts that all people have pasts, physical and personality flaws, and phobias that they are trying to overcome. By making her characters imperfect people who often make mistakes, the series attains that realistic feel that is missing from a lot of contemporary romance. The characters in the novels over react, make bad judgment calls and major blunders, that make the people in their lives crazy. But this is what makes them so real and personable. Nonetheless, the characters while making many mistakes are not really bad or good as the narratives are not about classifying people. For the most part, the novels are about how many people allow other people run their lives through their biased opinions. The emphasis is that the people that we love the most, such as friends and family may be the worst for us given that their judgments may have the most influence on our decisions. Overall, the novels assert that everyone is deserving of everlasting and selfless love no matter how rare it seems to be.

“Things Good Girls Don’t Do” is the endearing first novel of the Rock Canyon, Idaho series of novels. The novel is about Katie Connors, a girl who has spent most of her life living according to what society expects of her. She never talks back to her elders, never makes a scene in public, does not have one – night stands, does not visit sex shops, or steal. She lives by the same standards even after the death of her mother. But now that she has been dumped by her lying and cheating longtime boyfriend, she is starting to question her core beliefs about being a good girl. When Chase Trepasso comes into town, Katie knows that she needs to flee in the opposite direction. He could not be more different from Katie as he dresses in t-shirts and jeans, rides a motor cycle, owns a tattoo shop, and is generally, what the local townsfolk would deem trouble. Trepasso knows that Katie is not his type, being a good girl, but something makes him strongly attracted to her when he bumps into her at the local bar. Chase’s tempting and teasing offer to help her check off the items that a good girl should never do sets off a delicious feeling inside of her. She needs to show everyone and most importantly, Chase that she can be naughty and break the rules. But can she keep her heart out of it?

“Good Girls Don’t Date Rock Stars” is the stirring second novel in the Rock Canyon, Idaho series of novels by Codi Gary. Gemma Carlson never thought that she would be one of those people that wake up married in Vegas. She also never thought she would meet Travis Bowers her son’s father and old flame now a big country rock star. The good girl now has a ring on her finger after a night of debauchery. She knows the only solution she has is to run from the whole thing. As for Travis, even as he has been traveling all over the globe, he has never forgotten his old lover Gemma. Nevertheless, he never expected that catching up with Carlson would lead to a drunken wedding that would see him wake up to a runaway bride. Knowing second chances do not come by every day, he is not planning to lose his one and only love, who is also the mother of the son he never knew he had fathered. But Gemma is not interested in making it work as she has a heart to heal and a son to protect, even though having Bowers around would be great for both of them. Still there is a voice in the back of her head telling her that good girl do not date the likes of Travis?
