Courtney Walsh is a playwright, artist, theatre director, and novelist from Illinois who is best known for her romance and inspirational fictional novels.

While she has become known for writing women’s fiction and small-town romance, she still has a day job. She works at a youth theatre and performing arts studio that she runs and owns alongside her husband.
They started the business in 2014 and they now teach private lessons in guitar, piano, and voice and provide classes in a range of musical theatre.

They also do mixed media art workshops and produce full-scale and very large musical productions for 8-19-year-old kids.

Courtney published “A Sweethaven Summer” her debut novel and the first of the “Sweethaven Circle” series in 2012 and has never looked back since.

The novel would go on to become a Carol Award finalist and hit the bestseller lists on USA Today and the New York Times. A creative at heart she has penned several full-length musicals and penned two craft books.
She currently makes her home in Illinois, where she lives with her husband and kids and sometimes with Luna her naughty Bernedoodle.

Unlike most novelists, Courtney Walsh never wanted to become an author, as all she wanted was to become an actor.

When she went to college, she studied theatre and spent at least one summer in New York City’s “Circle in the Square.” She would then get a degree in journalism just to appease her parents, who sneered at her theatre degree.
Surprisingly, Walsh has been frequently using both degrees in her day job and in her writing.

She became an author since writing was something she just could not stop herself from doing even though she has always been caught up with the demands of being an actor.
She did a lot of stage writing long before she penned her novel and hence imagining stories was something she had always done.

It was in 2009 that she began writing and releasing her first two scrapbooking works. After this, Courtney had a heart-to-heart with God about her purpose as she wanted to find her calling just like her husband had with children’s ministry.
Luckily, God answered her prayers and told her to write and she began the very next day.

As a person of faith, Courtney Walsh always includes aspects of her Christian faith in every novel she writes, regardless of whether it is subtle or overt.

She is known for really leaning into forgiveness themes since she knows how important it is to forgive ourselves, to forgive others, and to not grow bitter when someone wrongs or hurts us.
She sometimes writes about why it is critical not to be angry with God when things do not go as planned.

Walsh sometimes also writes of other themes such as second chances and people finding their way back to each other, despite the many challenges that prevent them from doing so.
She believes these are universal themes that just about anyone can relate to, which is why she includes them in her works.

Courtney Walsh’s” If For Any Reason” introduces Emily Ackerman, who has been around the world and as her constant companion and compass, a book of letters left to her by her deceased mother.
Since she never had a father, she finds her true north in her mother’s advice.

But when she experiences professional failure, she hightails it to Nantucket, to renovate and ultimately put the family cottage she inherited on the market.

She wonders if there is anything in her mother’s letter offering advice on that, particularly when her grandmother barges in and starts interfering.

She also makes things more complicated for herself when she gets involved with the heartthrob next door. Hollis Maguire is back on the island after his baseball career was cut short after an injury.
Sparks fly between Hollis and Emily, as the latter becomes fascinated with island life and uncovers shocking secrets regarding the fatal accident that took her mother’s life.

Her world has been upended and Emily now needs to decide between forging her path forward and allowing the voices from the past to lead her in going forward.

“Is It Any Wonder” by Courtney Walsh is a riveting work of fiction set in Nantucket that delivers an inspirational and sparkling romance fiction work about second chances and first love.

Twelve years ago, Louisa Chambers and Cody Boggs made a pact that no matter how long it took, they would one day come back to Brand Point Lighthouse on Nantucket Island to share their golden birthday.

But their lives are changed forever following a tragic accident that pulls them apart. Their paths come together a few months before Louisa’s company gets the contract advertised by the Coast Guard Station.
She learns that Cody is back on the island and is second in command at the Coast Guard station.

Planning a regatta fundraiser, they soon realize that it is impossible to deny the fireworks every encounter ignites.

However, working together also brings back some bad memories and lets out secrets that result in Louisa and Cody questioning everything they felt and knew about each other and their families.

Courtney Walsh’s “What Matters Most” tells the story of Emma Woodson.

She believes she can have a fresh start for herself and her son, living in the charming family cottage and the cobblestone streets of Nantucket.

Ema had recently found employment at an art gallery which is a dream job and one more step away from history she wants to get away from.

She never intended to fall in love with Jameson Shaw, the handsome and kind guy that she hired to clean out the rental apartment above the garage.

Jameson Shaw was in Nantucket to deliver a letter to Emma and left never to come back. However, once he sets eyes on Emma he cannot help but fall in love with her.
But will their relationship survive once she realizes who he is and his connection with her husband?

It is an emotional journey about healing after a loss that makes for a warmhearted, emotional, and sweet love story as we follow how Jameson and Emily grow in love.
