Cressida McLaughlin is a bestselling writer of romantic uplifting novels from Norfolk. The author made her fiction writing debut when she published “Wellies and Westies” her debut novel and the first of the “Primrose Terrace” series of novels in 2015.
Given the popularity of her novels, they have sold more than half a million copies across the world over the years.

Cressida grew up surrounded by books in her South East London home and this was the biggest driver for her later becoming an author.

She still considers herself an all-around book nerd and avid reader who still reads romance, thrillers, and paranormal fiction novels. As such it was not surprising that in her teenage years, she attended the University of East Anglia to study English.
She currently makes her home in Norwich, where she lives with her husband. When she is not daydreaming about her novels, romantic heroes, and other people’s novels, she loves to explore the windswept coastline of Norfolk or go visit London.
She is also a huge fan of Henry Cavill, coffee, and ghost stories. She sometimes interacts with her readers through her newsletter or her social media where she provides updates on upcoming fiction works.

Growing up, Cressida McLaughlin remembers that her house was always full of all manner of books. In fact, her first memory is that of sitting on her bed while her father showed her The Wind in the Willows picture book.

She always used to get terrified when he showed her a page with a lonely forest of trees and darkness behind them. Nonetheless, she always felt a strong desire to go back to scary pages, which is perhaps why she still loves reading scary fiction to this day.
Even though she loved reading and in fact studied English literature in college and wrote a ton of essays, she never saw herself as a writer. It was not until she was in her mid-twenties that she started thinking that she could become an author.

She would then read Harriet Evans’ “A Hopeless Romantic” and Sophie Kinsella’s “Twenty Girls” among other women’s fiction works. She has said that she loved how the novels made her feel emotional, as they were swooningly and beautifully romantic.

Afterward, she made the decision to pen similar books. She wanted to create lovable characters and heroes readers would soon over and stories that would make people cry and laugh.

Cressida McLaughlin has said that the biggest highlight of becoming a published author has to be hearing from readers delighted with her novels.

When she gets such reviews or letters, it reassures her that she has done her job since she writes to entertain. She will also never forget the first time she held the first paperback copy of her debut novel which was emotional, thrilling, and exciting.
Now that she is a full-time author she usually wakes up at 6.30 in the morning, takes a walk in the park, takes her cup of coffee in the office, and after responding to emails she begins writing.

Cressida usually aims to pen at least 3000 words every day even though she will sometimes write more than that. She typically stops for lunch at 1.30 pm and uses the afternoons to catch up with blogs, read, market her books, and interact with her fans and readers.

McLaughlin’s “The Cornish Cream Tea Bus” is a heartwarming novel that tells the story of Charlie Quilter.

The lead loves baking and works at a coffee shop where she gets to live her dreams. When her uncle dies, he leaves his vintage bus to her in a will and she makes the decision of converting it into a mobile cafe.

She intends to use it to serve afternoon tea but a friend had suggested that she should go live with her in Cornwall and she took up the offer. When she arrives at Porthgolow village in Cornwall she could not have been happier at the chance of a new start.
She came with her dog marmite and it is not long before they are making new friends and she is living her business prospects. She makes and sells cream teas and the only threat to her great new life is Daniel the owner of the spa retreat on the hill where she usually parked her van.

He hates that she parks outside his hotel and she may have to win him over if her dream of running her cream tea bus is to continue. Will she be able to win over the man and convince him that this could be the start of something beautiful for both of them?

“The Cornish Cream Tea Summer” is a follow-up to the first novel of the series that is just as intriguing as the first. Charlie finally managed to settle into life in Cornwall, where she serves the best cream teas and sometimes offers tours of the local area.
But things get complicated when Delilah her cousin comes to Porthoglow. She is fleeing from something but it does seem that she is unable to get away from it.

Delilah usually goes all in when she wants something. As such, when she signs up to be part of the Cornish Cream Tea Bus, you can be certain that there is going to be a lot of drama. Moreover, she never bothered to check in with Charlie before signing up even though he cousin decides to give her a chance.

Charlie has recently been trying out some new coffee concoctions but thinks it wise to leave Delilah alone while she is away. In the midst of the glamour and glitz of working on a set for TV, it seems Delilah got her head turned even if she never expected to find love.
It makes for a warm, honest, and mouth-watering tale filled with delicious food and delightful characters.

Cressida McLaughlin’s novel “The Cornish Cream Tea Christmas” is the story of Hannah Swan, a woman that cannot wait for Christmas.

She has been working as a consultant for a few months and her new job will be taking her and Noah her geeky colleague to Porthgolow the beautiful Cornish village for the first time.

They are to help the Crystal Waters Hotel become greener, even though after a long and challenging journey, Hannah feels that Porthgolow feels strangely familiar.

Mysteries have always piqued her interest, and when she is told about odd sightings and noises by the hotel customers and staff, she could not have been more fascinated.

When Porthgolow is cut off by bad weather, Noah and Hannah will have to live in a Cornish Christmas. They have all the time to investigate the strange happenings.
