D.J. Bodden is a Gamelit, fantasy, and science fiction novelist from Switzerland. He is also a tech startup entrepreneur, globetrotting coffee trader, and Marine helicopter pilot who now works for a commodities firm in Geneva Switzerland.
Like many novelists, he makes use of his many experiences working in a variety of fields including economics, engineering, and tactics in the writing of his novels.

He has over the years developed a reputation for writing novels peopled with underdog characters that excel through hard work and wits, teamwork to pursue and defeat their opponents all over the galaxy.

Bodden published “Black Fall” his debut novel in 2015 and now has at least a dozen works of fiction to his name across a range of series and single-standing novels. He has also been a contributor to the “Perseus” series of novels.
D.J. is active in the writing community and is a member of the Fantasy Writers and Science Fiction Writers of America.

Like many novelists, D.J. Bodden grew up reading novels and remembers that he was reading adult works at an inappropriate age. It was at this time that he developed feelings about old videogames, which he still has to this day.
He had a very interesting time as a young adult, as he never learned how to drive and only did it once he had already learned how to fly.

As a child, his head was always full of the stories he read but at some point, he decided that he would be better off having some of his own.

But Bodden would join the military and for more than thirteen years, he flew, rode, and rappelled out of helicopters and airplanes, got shot at, knocked out, promoted, cautioned, blew up things, and put them together, as he met and interacted with all manner of people.
It was when he was done with his first combat deployment that he penned his first novel. But just like many authors work, this first manuscript will never see the light of day and he spent a few years learning how to do it right.
He now has the scars as evidence of how far he has come in the writing of his blockbuster adult and young adult fiction.

D.J. Bodden currently makes his home in Switzerland and when he is not writing his novels, he can usually be found cooking, reading fantasy and science fiction, and gaming.

Even though he was a hotshot in the Army as a pilot who jumped out of choppers and was woken up by gunfire, he is for some reason scared of spiders and only recently learned how to ride a bike.

“Nomad Soul” by D.J. Bodden is something of a prequel to the “Viridian Gate Online” universe. It is a work that comes with a very original premise that tells of how the Viridian project is on the verge of being shut down indefinitely.
Gamers who had been testing the game had been threatening to sue the company following a terrible experience online that left them feeling ill.

Osmark Technologies cannot let that happen as it would ruin the company, even though this would be the dream for many Viridians. The latter would never contemplate having their favorite game put on hold for 24 months.
A manager with Osmark named Alan is a gamer who is willing to give everything for the company and the game he had worked so hard and put everything into.
He voluntarily plugs in and has one of the most sublime gaming experiences before things go haywire in both real and online life.
It is a work that does a very good job of capturing the essence of the dichotomy between passionate artistic creation and business decisions in a gaming company.

D.J. Bodden’s novel “Dead Man’s Tide” tells the story of Alan, a squishy as hell, recently deceased, and newly minted illusionist who has to run for his life. What he needs is time to come to terms with his loss both IRL and in-game.
But first things first, he will need to escape the clutches of Thalia Dacera his treacherous and firebrand-crazy ex.

On his way to revenge and safety, he works with the Imperial spymaster Titus in addition to commandos, a crew of pirates, and sometimes a bloodthirsty shapeshifting Mimic.

His quest leads him to a gaslit city known as Wyrdtide that is governed by dark demigods and hidden in mists.

He had never imagined how much things would change once he entered the online world of Viridian Gate, as he only intended to show the creator that the game had a lot of promise.

But it was with death that he achieved what he had set out to do and became immortalized inside the game. However, if he is to survive such an unexpected and cruel world he will have to learn everything he can even though he has very little time.

“Inquisitor’s Foil” by D.J. Bodden continues to follow the life and times of full-time thief, movie spy, illusionist, and part-time Imperial Hero Alan Campbell.

He had just got out of a relationship only to have Imperial Inquisition’s Lady Camilla Favonius walk into his life. He is left without orders and is close to breaking while she wears plate armor around her heart just like she does in the field.
But Alan cannot help but contemplate if she is just what he needs or will his efforts to woo her and get a job leave him dead or jaded.

From the dangerous depths of the Grass Sea to the city of Harrowick, Alan has to go against an immoral syndicate, face down the risen dead and other monsters, and earn his place among the Union of Thieves if he is to get his happy ending.
In the meantime, Robert Osmark could not be closer to losing his company and both Jeff and Sandra will need to pick sides as war is inevitable.
