The town of Saul’s Run seems like the perfect place to settle down. It’s the right place to raise a family for a variety of reasons. Life there is of a high quality and people are known for living to their older years there. The rate of violent crime is extremely low, as there has not been a violent crime committed there over the course of a generation.

Things are so good here that it may seem like something protects Saul’s Run inhabitants from being harmed. Many of the town folk are religious, so perhaps it is that belief that keeps many of them safe. It’s a quiet town where not much ever happens that would make the news. The perfect place without anything bad happening seems almost too good to be true.

The main character in this novel is named Henry. He decided to leave the town ever since his mother passed away. Her tragic passing truly affected him, and he was not getting along with his father. After their falling out nearly a decade ago, he decided that he was going to leave town.

Ever since then, he’s been just trying to avoid thinking about his mother’s death and the day that she died. But when he receives some startling news., it might be time to go home to Saul’s Run to sort things out. The news of his father’s suicide means that Henry is returning there at last.

He will have plenty to contend with while he is there. There may even be a love interest waiting as his old girlfriend lives there. She’s putting off her dreams to take care of her mother, who is dying. Could there still be a spark between the two of them?

Also waiting at home is a friend from childhood. He’s being drawn to a mysterious thing waiting in an old and abandoned mine. Will he go in to see what it is and risk injury and even his life? What will Henry do once his business in town is done? Pick up a copy of The Fallen to find out what happens!

Most people would be put off by this, but the college students are too curious to resist their own inquisitive natures. They follow clues that lead them eventually to a locker at the bus station. There they find a video, and when they watch it, they are horrified. It shows a teenage girl being raped and murdered.

Things just keep getting darker, but the college students are in too deep to turn back now. They also have to worry about a state trooper who is about to connect them with the death of the male pedestrian.

Everything has turned into a full blown nightmare for the college students. They could not be more confused about what is happening or what they should do. When an underworld man known as The Pachyderm shows up and wants his money and the video, they don’t know what to do.
